Dacre gave this character so much depth. Billy could've easily just been the hot bad guy but his eyes were so captivating and full of emotion. I loved him on the show
Billy's character arc is so haunting. You want to love him, because you don't want to hate him, even though he gives you every reason to hate him. Just a stunning performance by Dacre, full of energy and depth. I've never been more heartbroken by the death of a villain in a series before. I always want to go back to the beach and protect that little boy.
Billy's character added so much to the show. I was genuinely scared of him, at the same time I felt protective whenever he was with his dad, his eyes showed such deep mixed emotions and his death was an incredible scene. Dacre played it so so well
I felt the same way. I found him more scary then the monsters because he was so human! At first I hated him, but I really wanted to root for him in hopes he’d get better. It’s so interesting how in the end, he died a hero in his own way.
Notice when he's being threatening or intimidating, he doesn't blink. It makes him more terrifying. I believe Hopkins did the same in Silence of the Lambs.
Idek mate \•_•/ exactly...when he does mean, his eyes go dead. That and the smirking confidence at the end. I’m sure that last bit was him introducing himself to a woman.
Yes, I agree! Season 3 is the best season of stranger things hands down thanks to Dacre. They made a mistake in killing him off! Hope they can figure out a way to bring him back!
@@Ethernet480 The final performance will always be better than the audition, they get a lot more time to prepare and hone everything. It's why an audition this good is so impressive
I always like to hand out my own little "emmy" for the best performance (imo) per season... this is what I have so far: Season 1 - Winona Ryder Season 2 - Noah Schnapp Season 3 - Dacre Montgomery Season 4 - Sadie Sink
@@Aro7241 Winona rider was the reason most people started watching and is the biggest actor in stranger things, I would beg to differ. Also given the fact that the entire plot revolves around Will, an argument could be made that he’s the main character
Well, Billy never killed anyone.. The flayer did, through his body..Billy couldn't control it. The flayer made Will kill people to and no one talks about it.
His acting in this role as Billy was absolutely amazing. Billy to me was one of the best characters in Stranger Things. A multi-dimensional character. When he died saving Eleven it was heartbreaking. He had a hard life. Love how part of his audition tape is the dialogue of Keifer Sutherland's character in "Stand by Me".
Billy was my fave character, when he died I cried so hard I scared the crap outta my poor son. Lol. I wish he would have lasted longer. I didn't get enough Billy!! This was epic, watching him dance to Come on Eileen and Hungry Like the Wolf!!! He's such a super talented actor
I also think he was one of the best characters. Even tho he was a bad person i couldnt hate him and his death made me really sad. I wish he would have more screen time tho
@@roflrofl1234rofl Watch Dacre being himself. He doesn't resemble a murderer at all either. He just does when he acts like one. Which is exactly why he'd make such a good Ted Bundy.
He and Zack Efron should play as brothers in some movie. Don't care what it would be about, but I'd watch it. (Whoa, thanks for the likes everyone❤️❤️!)
The casting crew was probably like: we don't want him, we NEED him. It's him. It's Billy. That's Billy. No one else could be Billy. BUT IN ALL SERIOUSNESS, I can't imagine anyone else as Billy.
Out of context, the second scene looks/sounds like Billy's aggressive dancing is gonna knock the other kids out and Max is desperately trying to stop him.
Wow. This is my first time seeing Dacre's audition - I already watched his performance in Stranger Things 2 and 3 - and I can honestly see how he acquired the role. This is an intense audition. He captured the soft-spoken menace that made Kiefer Sutherland so magnetic in Stand by Me, and his willingness to go crazy and dance felt genuine and bravely unrestrained. The inflection in his voice is very impressive, and his changes of facial expressions and tone are in-the-moment and raw. He could've made a great Billy Nolan in a (quality) remake of Carrie.
Bethany N I don’t think he’s in the prison. I think that’s the dude that was doing the experiments on Eleven. I think Hopper is trapped in the upside down
He play his role too well, because in the beginning when he was captured, we were like ok he deserved it. But then the moment he got killed, we all got teary eyed. All these actors are awesome❤️ Thank you!!!
I hate his character but man... those eyes, I still keep watching his scenes even though I hate his guts I can't stop looking at his eyes with those long eyelashes man..
evieramosi idk if I️ found a new celeb crush. MY LIFE IS CRUMBLING TO THE GROUNDDD FIRST IT WAS COLE SPROUSE THEN DAVEED DIGGS NOW ITS MAYBE DACRE MONTGOMERY
I don't know why but everytime I watched this series and Billy appeared...this played in my head: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-aae_67tlvrE.html Not a Rick roll, I swear😄🙏🏼
After David Harbor, I think Dacre was easily the most talented actor in the series. Sad we won't get more of him. Billy was such an interesting character, and the true star of season 3
What a crazy good actor, everyone on Stranger Things is super solid but this guy just takes the crown, can't wait to see more of him. Edit: WELL, now he DEAD. My life has changed so much after posting this comment I had a fun time reading through it all tho.
Or maybe it's the people who are confused about a media outlet so big as GQ not knowing the difference between the songs, "Hungry Like the Wolf" and "Come On Eileen." Could be it.
+Fachriza Rifandia That's what she means. Something like this... "How does this Australian man have a better American accent than me when I'm the one that is actually American?"
@@bidmcms3 clearly none of you have had to audition . You don’t act out everything . You read lines and show your face in the camera to see how you look .
His instincts, the choices he made through the whole thing is just...holy crap. I don't know what to say other than He's incredible!! Fantastic!! Talented!! I really wish we could have seen more of Dacre as Billy he is truly an amazing actor
a lot of actors when on set spend the whole day in the accent of the character because then it makes it easier so they don’t have to think about it as much when filming so it’s probably not all day when they do self tapes but easier to introduce themselves in it so they don’t have to suddenly switch
@@angelllerena5740 That's 100% true, and Dacre is one of those actors who stays in character between takes. But it's also common for non-American actors to keep their character's voice for the introduction because a lot of directors hate it when they feel an actor is putting on an accent, and will watch your audition with a much more sceptical eye. Which kills your chance to make a good first impression. This is especially important when you know they're browsing through a lot of tapes, and so are subconsciously looking for any excuse to put you in the "no" pile to narrow down the short-list.
When a character can play a part so well that they can reach in to ur pocket of emotions and make u hate them or feel negatively toward him. He plays this part so well. And it added a lot to the show for the length of the time he was alive
