Something about this scene scratches an itch in my mind... Like it's so cool... All the previous Vecna death sites' portals growing and ripping through the ground to converge at the middle, the manic ticking matching Vecna's clock theme, along with the top notch CGI. Just... *chef's kiss*. Easily one of the best scenes.
The main poster literally foreshadowed the ending the entire time with the 4 cracks leading to the main portal. Literally perfect story telling. People don’t believe the Duffers when they say they’ve had this planned out since the start. This entire season shows how they’re connecting so much
@@Doeyhead they literally did tho lol, the duffer brothers explained they had to pitch the entirety of the story/ lore to Netflix before the series aired, granted it was definitely a rough pitch but the plot points were always there
@@brishtimukherjee9345 that too, but hopefully they explore Steve’s guilt over not saving her in season 5 like he did before from Vecna. I think it would be something cool to look at for Steves character considering his character arc hasn’t really progressed in S4.
I couldn't believe it when Vecna's plan actually worked after Max died. I was like, "Are you kidding me?!" It's not unlike the reaction I had to Thanos actually managing to win at the end of Avengers: Infinity Wars.
Bro we better get a scene next season where Mike and Nancy sit down with Ted and Karen and tell them the truth about their adventures, about the friends they lost, about the pain that they've experienced. This isn't something that they can shoulder alone anymore, there's no way just the group will be able to hold off the invasion this time, they'll need the help of everybody they know and everybody in Hawkins.
The first gate was in a house, just like how the events taking place where in a house in season 1. The second gate was in the street, just like how they explained that the upside down was creating a street of their own in season 2. The water gate represents the “flow” between the characters and their development for season 3, and the final gate was opened at the house of the founder of the upside down himself from season 4.
Did anyone else think the sound at 1:32 sounded like the shockwave said "CRINGE?" I mean it does pretty much describe One's view of humanity in a nutshell.
for some reason, I really liked the music that plays in the background of this scene. I think I'll download the video in music format to listen to all the time
Everyone hates Jason (so do I) but I felt kinda bad for him. He had just lost his gf and one of his friends to supernatural stuff and Eddie was at both the crime scenes. He definitely should have gotten beaten up by Lucas, but that death seemed extra brutal
The 4 chimes represent the Metaverse which is a hypothetical world where AI AR VR and headsets in place of the real world. It is also the number of major technology companies in the United States.
seeing lucas drag away max’s limp body is so sad…imagine eleven and mike wondering what they were going to see when they got back to hawkins! i love these ships so much and its said they were torn apart. hoping for another lumax kiss and mileven endgame for the last and final season.
Ive just realised that each gate has a relation to each season, well 3 of them do, chrissy, near maxs house S2, fred in the woods S1(will went missing), the creel house S4, but patricks has stumped me Wait the water gate the fake body in the river
Fred died close to Reefer Rick’s, which is already pretty far from Eddie’s own house. So, the portals were probably far enough to converge in that manner. I was more interested to see the expansion of Patrick’s death portal, seeing it spread in the water
I kinda felt bad for Jason. I didn't like him but he was just looking after the death of his girlfriend. He was just a stupid normal person. He kinda reminded me of Steve Harrington in season 1. I really didn't like him but I think he just didn't know the truth.
Now that the Masquerade is broken, it's going to be pretty awkward for the kids to explain to the parents who aren't in the know, that they've spent the past 3 years facing off against the men in black, interdimensional paranormal entities & monsters, Russian infiltrators, and recently attempted to orchestrate a plan to hunt and execute a mutant psychic/magic (because sufficiently analysed magic is a thing) spider loving serial killer with a god complex who was banished to a parallel dimension.
The way Jason just unceremoniously is ripped in half is so satisfying to me, not even bc I hate the character but bc random unceremonious deaths like that always add tension. Like, who’s Next?!?
Exactly. And it was so effortless. Really makes you realize how dangerous this is. One of the main protagonists of this season just randomly killed Edit: I mean antagonist
@@Warhawk72 hmm... Maybe that's another place that Vecna attacked in the universe... Edit: since he deleted it, it was basically saying that Chernobyl happened in the same month
Umm that would be a slaughter fest lol, bullets do nothing to them. So what you mean is a scene of the demos just ripping apart the soldiers not fighting lol
@@zzirfamo24 that's just normal bullets that don't work, armor piercing could potentially be used to kill them and if that doesn't work they could just be armed with a bunch of flamethrowers and explosives
@@BOB-pq6up I’m sorry but the show should show some balls and kill off more characters like her. It’s already a bloated cast and I’m sick of them only killing off characters they’ve just introduced. I want to see realistic consequences
Gonna be honest This scene will always haunt me until season 5’s release, I NEED TO KNOW WHAT HAPPENS The sheer horror of the massive crossgate between Hawkins and the Upside Down tearing apart ALL THAT, *_AND_* having the power to MELT YOUR FLESH OFF YOUR BONES, *_so suddenly_* was an INSANE turn for the series.
How the hell does a Netflix series look this good?! Most of the new Marvel movies and series don't even have good CGI and HD quality like this anymore.
The budget for S4 was like 200-400 million and with how much money this season made I'd imagine that s5 will be significantly better in terms of CGI and quality.
I literally finished the final episode of this season last night and I didn't even realize that Jason died when everything started opening up. Holy crap. He honestly had it coming.
It's awesome foreshadowing. When you see it on repeat views, it's obvious what's being alluded to but at the time we're led to believe that it's just a means of tormenting whoever happened to be under his spell
@@SamsarasArt It'll be interesting to find out if they carry that visual further still in season 5, if at some point we get to see multitudes of Demogorgons & alike, erupting from the center of that fissure. If nothing else, I think we'll see some of the horrors Nancy got a glimpse of in _her_ vision of the future shown to her by Vecna.
@@larrytalbot3824 considering we've already seen some of these visions already come true, I think what you said is gonna happen. It makes me wonder if Mike is going to die next season. From what Nancy said both her mom and her siblings are going to die. Dunno about Ted, she didn't even mention him which I thought was kinda funny.
@@SamsarasArt yeah, I see some have speculated that all will be lost for the main characters by the end, but that time travel might be involved to undo some deaths, not sure how I feel about that, but I hope Ted doesn’t die, I feel he could potentially be quite a funny character to have around when facing some of the weirder stuff they may encounter, I love how dead-pan & laid back he always is! lol
The fact tht now god knows what could come out of the upside down whenever it wants it horrifying. A lot of innocent ppl are gonna die. Frankly I have no idea how Eleven could turn this around. Henry is like a god, and El doesn’t know how to control her powers completely yet, or her limits. Next season is gonna be insane.
This is the thing Henry was basically showing her what her capabilities were Remember season 3 when the mind flayer attacked el? It actually drained her powers and gave them to vecna, which in turn resulted in season 4’s events to unfold This means, that if el can completely control her powers she has the ability to basically tear open entire gates in reality itself And even destroy entire groups of people just like that Remember Henry has clearly been stating that el is the only test subject who had powers that are on par with his own What I’m trying to say is Henry may be the god of the upside down But El, is the defender of hawkins, she has no dictatorship level attitude like vecna, which was mainly vecna’s downfall, he believed he was too godlike to be taken down, that he didn’t see his own (somewhat) defeat approaching his doorstep El doesn’t have that She isn’t overconfident, now this may mean she’ll believe she’s defeated at some point, but she’ll always rise back up to fight for hawkins Henry was far from human, he was a demon in his own way El is human And if there’s one thing to remember about humans When the stakes are raised, we’ll do anything to fight for our planet
I do believe that eleven will somehow get inside Vecna’s mind and free all the of the other numbers he killed in the lab as he did say they aren’t gone but still “in here” (brain tap). So In a way eleven has an advantage to either tap into all of their contained powers or set them free then all of the Numbers will find their way to people who are brain-dead and come to life again and come together as an army and defeat vecna. Crazy theory but it’d be cool.
I believe Eleven will be getting in touch with Kali and the other escaped/ survivors of the lab… I know the actress is getting called back in. But I don’t want to spoil so I’ll Just pretend it’s a rumour
@@pt4005 i have a feeling that eleven won’t be able to close the portal by herself this time it’s just too big this time and probably growing outwards as time passes. Thus why kali is needed. Kali needs to develop her powers to help eleven id imagine.
The writing in this season was AMAZING. At least from a story telling standpoint. Remember when they couldn’t beat the vecna campaign even by rolling an 11? They foreshadowed this being an empire strikes back situation from the beginning
Tbh he really didn’t deserve it. And he was trying to avenge his girlfriend, poor fella was left out of the loop and it makes sense for what he’s doing. Yeah it’s a bit too far like buying a gun, but can you blame him for trying to avenge her?
@@Ohwowitsasock Tbh I can. He was given chances to turn around, and he threatened both Nancy and Lucas. He used religion as a reason for violence, including mob violence, and physically attacked both Lucas and Erica. He failed to see that Chrissy was in pain and taking illicit drugs. In my honest opinion, he was a worse bully than Steve and his gang were. He was only one step away from being the typical Conservative white jock school hero, and that one step would have been racism. He was the type of person that was even more dangerous than a normal bully. A normal bully is obvious, but Jason's type was the sinister, psychopathic type. Though it was an awful way for him to go, at least it was quick.
[Spoilers from Stephen King's It book ahead] This scene reminds me a lot of Stephen King's It ending from the book. In the 2019 movie, only the house on Neibolt Street is destroyed, but in the book a huge thunderstorm comes to Derry and completely destroys it: streets crumbles, the water tower falls and roll down the hill destroying everything in it's way, a manhole cover flies away and beheads an old man who said "it's just a drizzle" and went on a walk, then a few days later people are commenting on the news about the thunderstorm and the damage it caused, doing interviews and shit... I wouldn't be surprised if the Duffer Brothers actually got inspired by this part of the book to write this part of the episode since they're a big fan of Stephen King and reference him a lot. throughout the series.
It's slowly enveloping more and more of Hawkins. First just Will, then the mall and some residents... And now it legit quarters the city. I can't wait for the kids to finally bring the parents in... There's literally no way around it at this point.
0:10 you can see the face expressions of steve change as soon as nancy says “max” he probably wished he was there for her. there aren’t many scenes of the two but he was one of the first people max got to know after moving
