You know what I hate? How people have to absolutely stan one character but loathe the other. There are different POVs here. Not just one. Not just one person is at fault all the time. NO ONE is that single faceted. People need to understand that. To care about one character, you don't have to hate the other. That's not how it works. So I thank you for considering different POVs here. Great video, I wish people would take the time to get to know Mike's character before blindly hating on him.
Nancy is defending mikes feelings but at the same time invalidating wills feelings. Which makes me a bit upset but, I can understand why she’s doing it. She’s a protective older sister and I can very much respect that
Exactly. I feel like she is sort of invalidating their feelings because Mike can genuinely be a dick at times, doesn’t mean it should be excused, but rather reasoned.
Mike and Will's discussion came from the fact that Mike didn't want to play D£D with him. Then i ask: what in the bloody hell is the problem with that?! I get it, that Will lost a good chunk of his childhood stuck in the Upside Down, then He started having episodes seeing the place he was trapped in for more than a week, and after that being possessed by the Mind Flayer. I get it. But that doesn't mean Mike is obligated to play just because Will wants to. And what pisses me off is that you all simply CAN'T understand this. You all act like Mike's life was a walk in the park, when he spent an ENTIRE YEAR hurting because of El's dissapearence and just wanted to spend time with her.
I am also a Mike defender but you are right he does deserve better people are mad at him because he does not like will or he hurt will I even saw someone comment that They wished that he would die also they would be happy if he cried which is really messed up
I’m literally a mike wheeler defender till the day I die. He’s one of the most realistic characters, like you can’t tell me that if some random girl came into your group randomly, you wouldn’t be mad, I know el joined but when she disappeared he just didn’t want anyone taking her place and like especially how his parents don’t really show much love for each other so he doesn’t know how to express it himself.

But everybody still hates him about something he "should" do but he doesn't, like people hate on him for many reason bc he doesn't like will, he's a "bad" friend (not to even mention he would burn alive just to make his friends safe and in s3 he's a relatable teen and in s4 he didn't do ANYTHING wrong.)also they hate on him cuz he can't say ily to El and I understand why.
i was yelled at once because i said "i dont hate mike, i hate the way hes almost forced to deal with the trauma and what is essentially verbal abuse from all his friends". i was yelled at by someone because thats apparently not a common take on it-
Poor Mike has way too much hate that he doesn’t deserve like he is literally my favourite character and it’s so sad how people hate on him so much for making a couple of mistakes and call him a ‘bad friend’ which is NOT true at all since he jumped of a cliff to save Dustin. I don’t know about you but that seems like a good friend to me. Also to the people who are like “Mike can’t even say I love you to El 🙄” the reason for that is because his parents never said it to each other so he doesn’t know how to say it himself same with Nancy. Right there with ya. People ask me why i hate season 3 Max so much. Because in this season she's an annoying b*tch that just loves bashing on Mike and antagonising him. I get it that he's the one who created this hostile atmosphere between them, but it doesn't justify what she said about Mike in the third season.
I love this. And I dunno to me Mike shows a lot of symptoms of PTSD. I feel so bad for him since I have PTSD myself and it’s very hard to deal with alone especially if you don’t know you have it.
@@_sillygoose_666 I mean I guess. It kind of depends. Even if you go through something traumatic not everyone develops PTSD. They could all have it but I dunno I see Mike with having it more due to him sharing symptoms with me, though not everyone shares symptoms and all I just kinda recognize them. I kinda see how Max and Hopper have it as well, but I dunno to me I don’t see the others with PTSD even if they are rightfully traumatized. Funny thing is people can have PTSD symptoms but if it’s not something that is more than I think 2 months then they don’t get diagnosed. Anyway sorry I kinda ramble…. But yeah all the characters are traumatized
when El say's Mike doesn't know what it's like I was a bit mad cause that's invalidating what Mike's gone through, yes there are differences to what they are going through that no one can ever fully say that they truly get how they feel (maybe know what it's like but there's always differences to experiences however slight and how it effected you) but if your trying to express that don't do it by invalidating another experiences :( ----- anyways, I love the vide so much

Love the video but hate it at the same time, most of those videos were out of context, it’s like cause and effect mike was the cause and whatever happened after was the effect (love mike) but that scene when will yelled at him to forget it was because will tried to get his and Lucas’s mind off the girls but they ignored him and basically made fun of him for wanting to still play dnd, for wanting even a small piece of his childhood back, and he yelled because mike and Lucas were lying “you want to play right? ….yea totally” it sounded so fake, they only wanted to “play” after will gave up trying to help, and even tho wills got annoyed he had every right it to, instead of saying “hey we don’t want to play rn” they half assed it and then laughed in his face, that can make anyone self conscious, but loved the video🫶🏽🫶🏽🫶🏽🫶🏽🫶🏽🫶🏽🫶🏽 (swear just had to give it off my chest)
Will called Eleven a stupid girl right in her boyfriend's face, and you really wanted Mike to just stay shut? Mike may have been a bit of a jackass in this scene, but that doesn't make what he said about El right. Given how much Mike loves her, it was obvious he would defend her. If anyone were to insult my girlfriend right in my face (doesn't matter if it's friend or not) i DEFINETELY wouldn't stay quiet.

ok i'm sorry but mikes friends were NOT the problem for his sadness and confusion most of that was caused by his parents and HIMSELF. he hides who he truly is bc he can't except it. like in the video Nancy was yelling at Will when Will had literally always been there for him. the reason he yelled at him was bc Mike hurt him and was treating him like shit💀
and bc Mike can't except who he is he projects that anger and confusion on to other people. that's why he lashes out and says things he doesn't really mean. it's not his friends fault, it's not Mikes fault either but his problems come from his parents, bullies, but mostly him not being able to be the person he wants to be. i really loved this!! you really understand Mike and that makes me so happy because yeah mike is teen he’s gonna have an attitude but there’s also trauma and that’s important to his character being the way it is
I love every single character and most of them treated mike horribly, but will had every reason to be upset at mike he’s his best friend and he was being unfair to him and ESPECIALLY after what he said after their fight, if anyone would’ve said that to me they would’ve been blocked out of my life forever AND mike never even apologized that hurts for your best friend to do that. I’m not justifying everything but I’m just saying there are reasons people act out just like mike acts out on his feelings.

Well he kinda did yell at Lucas when he pushed him and yelled "move!". But a reason for this could be because Mike was the one who chased after him and not Lucas. I'm sure if Lucas was the one who followed him, Will would have yelled at him. I think it was just who was there at the moment. If that makes sense lol
i will always be a mike apologist, but i think he definitely needs to be held accountable. just because he has severe trauma shouldnt mean that he isnt responsible for the people he hurts yknow? /lh (this is just my opinion lol)

See, I love mike’s character, and the way they represent acting irrationally/not thinking before saying something by accident, but Nancy and Steve had no right to spread to Will and El as if it is their fault. Totally agree with this!! In this situation, I don’t think the blame is on anyone(or perhaps it’s on everyone?). Like, I LOVE Mike so much. And I don’t think he should be blamed. But that doesn’t make what he said right. Especially Will had every single right to be angry at him. They all have a right to be angry. So yeah, I don’t think the blame is on anyone other than their shitty life’s that gave them trauma lol.

Im genuinely confused about some points in both the video and comments?? Liek, first of all, I really love this video and I love Mike very much. But why are we calling the other kids bad friends and assholes and saying they should be held accountable for being assholes and then saying Mike shouldn’t cause he has trauma?? THEY ALL HAVE TRAUMA. Like? I dont think Mike deserves any hate or anything, but I do think he should still be held accountable, while he has his reasons and IS dealing with a lot, he was still an asshole sometimes. And so were the other kids sometimes. And the same goes for them, they should be held accountable for that. I’m not saying any of them should be blamed, but they should still take responsibility for being assholes. And the others were never bad friends to Mike, yes, they didn’t notice him hurting, but they didn’t notice the others hurting either. They’re kids. And Mike really did say some hurtful things. It’s not black and white, it’s grey, none of them are in the right or wrong in most of these situations and absolutely just don’t get why we are blaming the other kids for being a little assholy sometimes, and then proceed to say Mike did no wrong cause he has trauma and people were mean to him???
