Omg, I now know Henry wasn't the only one there. There already was another person well not exactly a person an entity of some sort that was somehow communicating with Henry when eleven threw him into the first gate.
Exactly. The Flayer needed to because it was an easier way to communicate because it’s an alien intelligence that probably is new to human interaction.
Okay, the voice acting is ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE!! Jamie and Matthew put so much raw emotion into their acting, and as Henry, you can feel Every bit of anger, sadness, or joy that he’s feeling. It really is such a powerful story told by even more incredible and powerful actors. Well done Jamie and Matthew ❤❤
Matthew should return in S5 as the voice of the Mind Flayer whenever it takes the Shadow Brenner form and having conversations with its accomplice Vecna to further showcase their dynamic and since it could allow for Matthew to do motion capture and play a different character since Brenner in S4 was killed off. He would be playing a version a Brenner, but not the real Brenner. A cake and eat it too situation. 💯
1:41:24 I love this part Where Henry and mindflayer debate on who is the apex predator or superior being and who should be in charge Its like Darth Vader and Darth Siedious
Vecna prefers to destroy and torture, while The Mind Flayer prefers to enslave and consume. They constantly bicker how to handle things, but still tolerate each other because they need each other and they share a common goal, and they also respect each other to a certain degree.
It was the mind flayer the entire time stringing him along but they were both battling for control. I think that's interesting bc everyone just assumed that maybe they just formed this alliance easily but there's cracks in their relationship. Can't wait to see what season brings. 8 episodes but they're like movies per episode man oh man
Pretty much. Or they are partners in crime and share domain over the dimension. Either way, Dustin’s theory of Vecna being The Mind Flayer’s 5 star general were in fact correct.
@@joekool0078 exactly. Vecna I prefer not as a rip off of Freddy Krueger and him instead being a herald to a eldritch god-like entity makes him unique. We already have Freddy Krueger to be a evil demon controlling an alternate dimension called The Dream World. Vecna being an accomplice to The Mind Flayer makes him not just a copycat, and also keeps the mystery of the Upside Down and keeps the creatures and entities from it scary like they should. This show is cosmic horror, not a 80’s slasher with supernatural elements.
No the VR game is not stated to be canon and the duffers aren't involved But the play is canon and is very explicit about Henry being flayed (lol even the duffers said it wasn't subtle funny enough). Much more explicit than this id say actually The plays characterization of him is also more accurate, the story was written by the duffers and the script was written by Kate (Kate was the one who even came up with the Henry=001=Vecna twist)
@@jarnold yes. I know the prequel play is canon. But this VR could be considered canon too albeit semi canon. Like the George Lucas grading system of A to C to D canons. The prequel play is definitely A or B while this game is C to D canon. Especially like you said the duffers weren’t involved.
I may have missed it but I wish you could see Nancy and Steve in here. They are literally my all time favorite stranger things characters. I’ve heard a lot of people hate on this game but I actually really enjoyed it!
@@gemeaux333 it’s obviously the Mind Flayer. It says “we have always been the dominant life here and have consumed everything, but you are new material. We wish to study and experiment you.” It also seems to use the pronoun of “we” since it’s probably an endless collective of itself and themselves.
@@ParkerCS2if you watch the stage play "Stranger Things : The First Shadow" everything makes so much more sense Henry got lost in the upside down for 12 hours at the age of 7 and possessed by mindflayer the way will was and this is how he got his powers...
So the Upside Down is basically one giant Superorganism. The whole dimension is an eldritch being. It would make The Thing from The Thing 💩 itself! Lol
Yes the mindflayer wants to obsorb 001/Henry And Henry wants to obsorb the mindflayer they feed of each other like parasites I dont know why But i find that funny i think Its because the mindflayer likes to mess a bit with Henry in his head 😂
I expect for season 5 to have scenes of Vecna and The Mind Flayer (possibly even in its Shadow Brenner form) to have conversations like in this game. Them strategizing and also having friendly conversations similar to Darth Vader and Darth Sidious from Star Wars. If the Flayer is using the Shadow Brenner form, I hope Matthew Modine comes back to do motion capture for it! 😍💯 He could even portray the stature of the Mind Flayer moving around in this form similarly to The Tall Man from Phantasm with hands behind his back, and also eventually the Shadow Brenner form slowly turns into a humanoid version of the Shadow Flayer form with a flame head and tentacle arms and maybe add some fingers as well. Would be pretty interesting ideas.
More non human than Ego. But yes, The Upside Down is a superorganism and The Mind Flayer is the intelligence. And it’s more of a collective than a single entity, so that’s why it refers itself as “we”. Endless of itself and themselves. Really freaky cosmic horror stuff. Lovecraft would be proud. Also H.R. Giger would be too! The Upside Down probably was inspired by biomechanics like from Alien, and also Clive Barker’s work. And The Mind Flayer could also be slightly inspired by Levianthan from Hellraiser but only in a small capacity, and the alien environment is probably inspired by also the Red Planet dimension from Phantasm, and The Upside Down and Vecna’s Mind Lair are both also inspired by Nightmare on Elm Street with The Dream World and Freddy’s Boiler Room. (The Dream World also sometimes reflecting the same location you are at in real life like a mirror dimension) Vecna is also a mix between Freddy Krueger, Pennywise, Candyman, Pinhead, The Tall Man, The Entity (Freddy Krueger) from New Nightmare, and Jacke Earl Haley’s version of Freddy Krueger from the 2010 Elm Street remake. Obviously, The Mind Flayer’s shadow form is heavily inspired by Cthulhu, and it’s physical avatar Spider Form from S3 is literally inspired by John Carpenter’s The Thing.
So... In fact it might finally be still Henry the bad guy all this time. But what would be interesting is that if they defeat Henry, there will still be the Mind Flayer to defeat, as it would be free from Henry's desire of revenge and would start to devour the Earth.
The Mind Flayer’s Physical Meat Spider Avatar form is big enough to be a part of The MonsterVerse and fight Godzilla or Kong! Lol Seriously, The Meat Flayer is basically a kaju.
Here’s another idea they should do for S5: have half the season with The Mind Flayer as Shadow Brenner, and during the second half it transforms into a smaller humanoid version of its giant shadow form with the flaming head, and it’s slightly taller than Vecna’s height, and has two long humanoid arms as well. I can picture it in my head. Somebody needs to make a fanart concept out of this idea I’m saying right now. 💯🙏 And maybe have Vecna side by side with it in the picture. Would be cool. 😎🍻
Henry:what the hell does that supposed to mean, Me:what the hell does that supposed to mean about stranger things five is not out yet? My daughter Alexis:BAHAHAHAHAAHHAAAAAA😂😂😂 1:06:34
40:06 I’m hella confused Mike is in his s3 mall fit Dustin is in his s2 fit Lucas is in his s2 fit And max is in the outfit she gets possessed in aka end of s4 So when is this on the time line? 85’ 86’ Or 87’
Yeah. And also, a combination of The Thing, The Levianthan from Hellraiser, The Xenomorph Queen, The Omega from Edge of Tomorrow, Ego the Living Planet, The Necromorphs from Dead Space, and even The Mind Flayers from D&D ironically because they are also a hive minded race.
I wish you all a pleasant viewing! Dude, where do you find these games? you find them yourself or someone helps you, as well as a great walkthrough again!
Exactly! 8/10! Pretty good and very lore heavy and it’s lore is really cool and stuff. My only complaint is there wasn’t an actual boss battle or any real boss battles included. Would’ve benefited the game a bit more if there was a more interesting finale with an actual boss fighting challenge like The Meat Flayer.
It does, it explains that Henry isn't the mastermind at all, there was already an entity who was controlling the whole dimension, it seems henry took over the mindflayer but sometimes because of the dialog is implied that they're working together, the mind flayer feeds on human minds and in interchange henry uses energy of their dimension to tear a hole in the real world because he wants to make eleven pay, while the mindflayer wants to consume humand minds
@@Jp73727 @Jp73727 we don't know it, remains as a question mark. But pay attention to the first dialogs from 28:00, shadow brenner says "let us out" he's definitely referring to the hive mind of the UD, he also says "you look tired, perhaps i should take the lead" implying the mind flayer can control henry if he allows it. Now the entity is presumably the dark particles we saw that henry crafted when he arrived in the x dimension. You gotta watch or read stranger things "first shadow" to understand it better
@@Jp73727 Probably the dark particles we first saw when henry was crafting the spider monster. But pay attention to the first dialogs. Shadow brenner( mind flayer) says from 28:00 "you look tired, perhaps i should take the lead" and also "let us out" implying that the mindflayer wanna leak into our world and he can control henry if he allows it. At chapter 5 1:04:11 the dark particles first interaction with Henry surround him and and they say "i am the leader of this lab", they also say that taking that form is ideal to "study" him he also says that he feeds on human brains? Minds? You gotta watch or read about the play Stranger things the first shadow to understand it better
Since this and The First Shadow are canon, does that mean Far Cry 6’s The Vanishing DLC could be too? Even if it’s not, I like the concept of the Upside Down trying to invade Earth modern day 2020, new characters calling the monsters and entities different names, and that interesting Six character who was a telepathic/psychokinetic. I don’t believe she would be from Brenner’s lab, perhaps she was from Russia’s version of MK ULTRA or something. If The Vanishing was canon, it wouldn’t make sense for her to be from Hawkins’ program because all the other test subjects as far as we’re concerned were murdered by Number One. Unless some survived and/or escaped. IDK if they showed a dead Number Six in S4 in that flashback. I don’t remember. But yeah, that DLC campaign from Far Cry 6 was pretty cool. I don’t necessarily think everything needs to be 100% canon. Same with the Dead By Deadlight video game and that upcoming TMNT crossover graphic novel releasing April 23 next month. As long as they are fun.
The mind flayer is particels so i dont think the thing could asimilate it The mindflayer would proably take control of the thing or join it The blob is diffrent i think since its acidic and its biologi is diffrent since its not made of flesh so i dont think the mind flayer Can infect it due to that
@@johndetheshape3095 yeah exactly. Strategicly The Thing would combine itself with The Mind Flayer to become more powerful. And although The Blob is acidic, S3 The Flayer was forcing its Flayed human drones to drink acidic and poisonous chemicals and fluids that would kill them normally and possibly destroy and incinerate their organs inside. But IDK
dont mind this im just putting my fav moments and this is how 35:57 37:14 38:32 38:49 38:58 40:11 45:27 45:37 45:50 46:15 46:40 46:47 47:08 48:03 48:30 50:19 52:35 53:09 54:09 54:42 55:58 56:35 57:20
It’s the Mind Flayer in the form of Shadow Brenner to communicate and give advice to Vecna. It’s basically the Galactus to Vecna’s Silver Silver. The Darth Sidious to his Darth Vader. Vecna is it’s herald/five star general and is teaching him how to keep the creatures under their control loyal and obedient within the hive mind. Shadow Brenner isn’t Vecna’s imagination. It’s the Mind Flayer using Brenner’s alikeness to be able to communicate with him because it’s an alien intelligence and it’s the best way to communicate with a human visitor from another dimension and likely Henry is the first human to ever experience speaking to the Flayer so it’s trying to use the memory of Brenner to reach and understand him, as it’s never experienced a specimen like humans before. It specifically said it had consumed everything in its world but Henry was new material and unrecognizable to it. Meaning it definitely hasn’t encountered human beings before.
I like how it showed how Henry gets through the mind through his own gates and because Hawkins has all four gates connected he can really come and go as he pleases . So can the mind flayer(s)
Me too! This definitely had effort put into it! Lots of story and lore, and despite being only 3 hours the levels look creative. The story was emotional and the game had good scary atmosphere and moments. This game I believe is canon. 💯
@@ParkerCS2 Same, but like I remember the book Rebel Robin, and it was so good I believe it could be canon cause it almost never broke continuity until the very last page or so where Steve starts working at scoops (day 1 for him) and he's like oh hey Your Robin from my classes... which just instantly breaks season 3 where he didn't remember until the underground base capture scene.
@@Nightbane104 well, maybe the author made a mistake. Not everything is over seen by the duffers except whatever has their input on it. Or maybe Steve was over exaggerating events whereas in actuality he didn’t remember her. You know how Steve’s ego is. Lol Unless if this book was only in Robin’s perspective. IDK. But yeah George Lucas from Star Wars didn’t always oversee everything for the EU back in the day. Plus, this Robin novel is side material and isn’t really important in the grand scheme of things. This VR game however is very lore heavy. Whereas some of those side novels are just background stuff. Not important.
