Project Rolling Thunder picks up speed when Stacey and Mel strap on a supercharger to the Dodge Dakota's stock 5.9L powerplant. Then, it's mode ideas to for tools in your workshop.
Owned my deep amethyst 99' R/T RC for 20 years now ! My HS hotrod . Great truck ! I was I was probably 15 at the time of this video . Great to watch again!
Always fun to see pre-production versions of vehicles I know. You can see what the original designers were going for. And where the pencil pushers decided cuts had to be made. (No 4 wheel independent suspension, all metal parts you see on exterior end up being plastic, that cool wrap over windshield gets ditched, headers swapped for manifolds, custom cut tires changed for off the shelf bfgs, interior ends being completely toned down) At the end of the day, a completely one of a kind design was binned for a body swapped 3/4 ton suburban.
@Sativa I have a 99 std cab rt. It’s factory height with just bolt ons. Death busa is sort of correct on the handling… it DOES NOT feel like you’re driving a truck most of the time. Very minimal body roll. Steering is very tight, sort of heavy and ratio is very quick. Dodge did a damn good job for once. I wouldn’t say it handles like a sports car but it will surprise you… It’s very easy to forget you’re driving a truck
Well they out performed the Mustang on lateral g’s when they came out and I can fit stuff in the bed that won’t fit in a car they did have a problem when people would try to tow with them they could pull a lot more weight than the truck could control due to not having the weight to stop it
They went from $4.5k to $15.5k in one year when that 20 rolled around. I have a 2002 R/T single cab with 31k miles on it. I think they cost $18k brand new.
I wonder if they ever upgraded the brakes? the brakes have been the worse thing about the r/t, I got all the parts together to put dual piston 12" 2004 brakes on the front now.
I know it's been a while and I'm pretty sure it's been done but I can't help but see a Modern Interpretation of The Lil Red Express. For me I'd need a "King Cab" or "Crew Cab". Wouldn't even need to start with an R/T.
The interior of that H2 is fugly. I'm REALLY hoping to see the dyno run of the truck, but chances are I'll miss it because of the 150+ notifications every day.
Trucks! started back in the late 90's and it was just one of MULTIPLE series Powerblock had. Eventually Powerblock became PowerNation (which also has a RU-vid channel that post their shows) which continues to make multiple weekly shows to this very day. They've been slowly converting their OLD shows to digital so they can add them to digital and streaming platforms. Stacey David only did a few years before doing his own shows and currently has a youtube channel as well.
Lmao especially for a V8 compared to a 4 or 6 cylinder Acura that ain't shit like they make close to 3 either way so that's sad for a V8 vs the smaller engines and it's the biggest motor made in that truck how pitiful
That was a very different time... the mid 70's to late 90's horsepower for all vehicles in North America was way down.... those years were a valley that youngsters..... those under 30 most likely have no knowledge of
@@199jl LMAO here we go with another fucking know it all why don't u look up the horsepower of them back then even wise ass since u know so much I bet it ain't no more than 275
@@199jl oh wait u don't know shit the Factory 5.9 only came with 245 horses but yet u tell me I don't know my shit u better do some research before u tell other people they r wrong 😂
