Stratford Fire (Bridgeport CT) 2nd Alarm

Incident Details:
At 3:24am Bridgeport Fire Department was dispatched to Stratford Ave for the reported structure fire. B-2 was the first on scene finding a 2-story residential over commercial building with heavy smoke and fire showing out the 2nd floor and called for an all hands working fire. After conducting a 360° of the building, B-2 upgraded the fire to a 2nd alarm. After making entry, members found a victim on the 2nd floor and worked to extricate the victim out the structure. The victim was successfully removed and was placed in the care of EMS. After placing several hand lines into operation, the fire was placed under control in less than an hour. Units remained on scene to conduct overhaul operations. The one victim was transported to a local hospital with unknown condition but did not appear to be life threatening. No other injuries were reported either by firefighters or civilians. The Bridgeport Fire Marshal's office is investigating the cause of the fire.
