@@simone.1391 I've played this opening passage many times, it's very popular on movie pops concerts. Conductors often come in and try to cram as much 'music' into the minute and a half as they can, which might describe Dudamel's interpretation. Most of the little nuances aren't in the score. The big stretching out of the C major arpeggio in the trombones is there, but that's about it. Jansons follows the score more literally. Some people find that uninteresting. The thing I like about this particular performance is how great the blend, balance, ensemble and intonation is. It is masterful. Dudamel's version isn't quite so accurate. That can happen when you push to the extremes, even with a fabulous orchestra like Berlin. I prefer the Jansons version, but I'm not sure I would go so far as to say it's best.

I'd disagree and literally say the exact opposite lol, but I mean Jansons and dudamel are both great

Actually wait I just listened to dudamels recording at the same volume and it literally took my breath away they're both exemplary in different ways but I like Jansons in terms of pace and consistency
