I like when the last few notes are held longer. This is a great example.

The Firebird is a composition of Stravinsky extremely difficult. Congratulations Mr. Abado.

Thanks for posting all these videos from The Digital Concert Hall! As a student of television production (and a music lover) this is truly inspirational! Could I suggest that you make a "behind the scenes" video of how you televise your concerts? :-)

One of the great codas. Notice how so many composers bring in the lowly triangle for greater dramatic effect? By the way, am I the last to note how many of these snippets there are posted (as of today)? 404

@CyferOlitaire15 It was way later. Christhard Gössling joined the orchestra in 1984 and this recording is from 1994.

This is a great orchestration example of orchestral unison {and octaves) but notice how the strings. winds and brass are not attacking together. Not impressive for and orchestra of this prominence.

Robert Vinson This is the end of a majestic piece; at this point so many things have been already happen and all the musicians have passed through lots of "roads" and difficulties. Also think about at the hugh numbers of players that are involved; on the contrary of what someone can think, this always do not help in playing together, in particular regarding the attacks you were mentioning. Anyway, I don't want to justify them, but I would love to say that they are still humans and in the end, music is not only about perfection, isn't?
