So I meant, it is not easy to tell if the cat has an owner or not. When there are so many cats on the streets, it would be difficult to know which one does not belong to someone just from how they look. 👍

I felt bad for my neighbors cat seeing it sit under a tree at 3am in the rain so I fed her some kibbles and she followed me down the street and stayed over at my house. The owner was was wondering where she had disappeared to for week. She got along great with my little dwarf bunny but I apologized for feeding her cat and now it’s always over. Eventually they moved away and so did I. Sweet little kitty.

This is Türkiye. The country where cats live happiest.

Some people would disagree and there is biological proof cats have less facial muscles than dogs for example, but they really do have expressive faces. And who could resist the slow blink?

Turks tend to respect cats as a culture. So even though they aren't associated with any one family they're still well socialized.

I just saw a short today of a polydactyl cat who knocks (taps) on a door before entering when he spots his human in the room. Now that was charming. 🤓

Cats 🐈 demand attention as opposed to wanting it. It sometimes makes you appreciate them running away. Be careful what you wish for when wanting their attention.

These cats arent wild, most cats in instanbul have owners and are well fed

@@CubeBizz That's mainly because in Turkey we really care about them. For example, in my neighbourhood we had 4 stray cats and 3 stray dogs. One apartment agreed to feed the dogs while my appartment agreed to feed the cats. Other appartment bought a camping tent for the dogs so they could live inside of it and we built a small cat house for our cats. We are providing both for dogs and cats everyday. 1 of our cats had 4 babies recently. Now we are also taking care of them. They are very healthy and they love human interaction just like their mother. Also strays in Turkey have healthcare. You can take them to public vet office for free if they are sick.

This is how near all stray cats and dogs are in Turkey. You can see them in every street, the locals feed them and care for them as much as they can

You think American Doctors are bad? You should see our vets. There's ways to get free doctoring. Helping animals is big $. What do you do if they become too many? They did! They left it to die on the street, probably shivering in the cold and wondering why these humans rejected it, wondering what it did wrong, why it was not worthy of love and left as fodder for hits on RU-vid and never experiencing real love. Why does this couple hate me was its thought, "Why do you refuse to love me" that is what is really felt. They left it alone to be in agony. This is depressing, should be called "how to murder an angel". Disgusting !!

I have a lakehouse/vacation home where we always have bunch of cats who show up and stay. Well three of them just had little kittens 4+4+2 = 10 total. I actually helped deliver two of them (very proud of myself for foing so) So, if you really need a cat...😏🤪

You can't. Cats in Istanbul are looked after by the community and are free. (Food & Water cups and small shelters around every corner / in front of most of the houses for them, as well as for dogs) Even municipality veterinaries that look after them for 100% free are obligated to put them back to the exact same spot they take them from. Cat's might choose to go to people's houses, but more often than not they go back out where they are free.

as someone who lives in Istanbul yes you can. that's how I adopted my cat. this is how most people adopt their cats. and the community supports this because you are protecting them from the dangers on the street. take that cat go to vet and check to see if he has a microchip and if he doesnt he can be yours now.

@@yisc9361 you can't... at least not without asking the permission of everyone that is looking after that cat, it is extremely rude and thoughtless.. I've witnessed many arguments on this subject and it has always caused more suffering then it did good. Ignorant and unqualified random people taking cats from neighborhoods that others care for, just to throw the cat away miles away from its actual home when things get hard. It is much easier to adopt when they have babies, and by people that you actually know are capable. This is even worse for dogs, since it is much harder to look after them, they become homeless right after getting used to a home.
