I saw the Stray Cats at Hammersmith, London a few weeks ago. About 40 years to the day I saw them on their first UK tour! Amazing, so much talent and energy. I’m sitting on the couch in the conservatory at my partner’s parents in Yorkshire. Sunshine, coffee, a great view of nature and amazing surf. Perfect.
Facts: 1) The man responsible for this shameless instrumental is named Setzer. 2) “Setzer” is just one letter off from “Seltzer”, a word for sparkling water. 3) Spindrift is a brand of seltzer water. 4) Spindrift is also the name of the band from which this song is shamelessly ripped off whole-cloth, except Spindrift calls it “Speak to the Wind”. 5) “Speak to the wind” is only a few letters off from “speak to a lawyer”, which Spindrift is probably doing right about now. COINCIDENCE OR CONSPIRACY???
Music so deep in my brain....in my heart.... ! This video can really performed great & true moments with ligtness of this period. I love Stray Cats. Thanks so lot. You're so GREAT Vi
48flyboy Fair point, but let’s face it, Brian Setzer has paid his dues over the decades and the Stray Cats are still a great live band considering they’re all in their 60s now.. I kinda think they’ve earned the right to sit back on their laurels and let the younger bands take up the torch and do a bit of innovating. Let’s face it Elvis had moved far from his Rockabilly roots by the time he died and although it was new material, it really wasn’t all that great. At least Brian and the lads are still Rockin’! 😎
@@48flyboy he has new songs on the album that are original. He has always done a mixture of old and new songs.he plays them all brilliantly and the cats have old and new fans..after 40 yrs that is an achievement. I have been a fan since they started .whatever the material Brian is a talented guitarist xxxxx
