Kpop choreografie does the "hiding one member" thing a lot, when the group has a even number of members. They love to have the member, who is currently singing or rapping in the center & you don't have a center with a even number of people.
When you will react to Scars in the future I suggest to react to three things. 1- First take, 2- MV, 3 - dance practice. Scars has one of my fav choreos.
they usually put 1 member to the back, so that the formation looked symmetric with a singing person in the middle - it is pleasing for human eyes and is easier to understand who is singing. Pretty often (but not always of course) the person in the back is the one who is singing next - then he will move from back to front during his part. for many songs SKZ have several dance practices - proper ones as the ones you have watched and funny in some ways, feel free to react to them as well in addition to the main one, they are cute :) for example for "maniac" (title track of oddinary) there is a zombie version of dance practice, it is so hilarious! some songs have choreography, but don't have a dance practice. for example "venom" (song from oddinary) is such a case. they don't even have any choreography in the MV probably because of Felix's injury, but they performed the dance at the concert, so you could watch a fancam if you want. "charmer" (another song from oddinary) doesn't have a proper choreography for the whole song, but has for some parts - you can see it from concerts' fancams as well. I think other songs from oddinary don't have any any dance practices.
When you get to Oddinary, I highly recommand listening to the songs that don't have an MV too because they're all soooo good! Maybe you could watch live perfomances :) Also, usually the one "hidden" behind the one in the middle is the next one to sing/rap ;)

Chan once said that he has few lines in their songs from the fact that he likes his Kids to shine, he enjoys listening to them and looking at them, when they are in sight. Maybe this principle applies to choreography as well?
Stray kids channel has tons of playlists on it and they also have a japanese channel which has the japanese songs and dance practices called Stray kids japan official youtube
I'm not ashamed to admit I clapped and yelled when you compared him to Hanson. My 12 year old self getting the mmmbob cassette in 97 and becoming obsessed with the group. Still a fan to this day. So I'm right there with you on your thoughts lol. If nobody had mentioned it, Stray Kids do album trailers for many of them. So I would suggest watching them first before you start songs in an album. They really look like movie trailers.
