Okay, but hear me out...The Waffle House COULD actually be deeply symbolic. There is a lot of thunderstorm imagery in the video and in the Southern US, we have this thing called "The Waffle House Index" which basically means the incoming storms are nothing to worry about UNLESS the local Waffle House closes. Waffle House restaurants are open 24 hours a day. They, famously, never close. So if they DO close due to a hurricane or supercell fronts that produce tornadoes, it's time to be scared.

I don't know why but I really love the idea of Han stealing the wet sweatshirt out of the laundry machine so he can put it on and feel hydrated or like underwater (feel the moisture / water on him). It's like a sea creature that you'd find on the land and wrap in a drenched cloth before being able to get it back to the water (I have seen that in movies and cartoons).

DG thank you for another awesome reaction...I always wait for your theories! For what it's worth here's a few things I noticed/researched...I'll TRY to keep this brief!!🤣(DG this is your fault...I end up thinking too much!) Firstly, this is obvs a 'relationship' song...If you notice in the background the illuminated sign you saw said "SKZ & STAY", there is another sign saying the same on the wall in the laundry scene. I think the "relationship" they are referring to is with STAY? The other signs are: Nostalgic Night/Good Vibes (feelings)/SKZ Street Store(You can find everything you want/need) /Waffle House (which has been explained by @PhillipsLacy) and THE STAR HOTEL...album title? Somewhere where u can rest and feel safe. The lights in the water are red/green/blue/white...not just reflecting the signs...they're all navigation colours. Water meanings: CHAN: Needs water not allowed...sees image of woman/Stay(?) in window but image is blindfolded so he can't see eyes, so he can breathe and leave...he HAS TO leave for his own good...water from tap as he leaves try to call him back. LEE KNOW: He needs water...empty pool so tries to quench his thirst with a peach but doesn't like the taste. SEUNGMIN: Tries to bring water with him but fish symbolises being trapped. HAN: Takes wet clothing but knows he has to find more. HYUNJIN/FELIX: Rain is making them feel better (while in same scene as signs detailed above) I.N: Drinks but it's a plastic bottle poss symbolising how plastic affecting sealife? ALL OF THEM RELIANT ON WATER.......EXCEPT CHANGBIN????? (Ok this is NOT cos he's my bias) I think there's something REALLY significant with this?? CHANGBIN: Empty road on a motorcycle...instant Rebel without a Cause (film) ref? He drives against the 'tide'/direction that the others are going. I.N and Seungmin watch him with a look of wanting to be like him? I think it's like Changbin has already been through the decision/pain of giving up the 'water' and is showing the rebellious SKZ power of choosing their own path/future? If you look back at opening lines of LaLaLaLa...all Changbin with fire around him not water..."Welcome to heaven - thunderbolt - City's rock having fun is all that matters - no more worries hard nights - hanging in until it's over, AFTER PAIN COMES JOY". He's already made the choice to leave the water (as Ariel did) and go through the pain...but it's the only way to heaven/happiness? Then he is there waiting for I.N and Seungmin to join him...then he sings the chorus about how important STAY are. PEARLS AND STAY: Pearls are the only jewels created in partnership with a host. They never need to be cut, cured, polished or trimmed, they are born perfect.They are the only gems born from a conscious, nurturing process (host creates them). Pearls can be any shape or colour they are all considered precious. The pearls I believe represent STAY...that's why they are all wearing them. Chan swallows a pearl, maybe like the old Chinese legend of the boy who swallowed a pearl to keep it safe and by doing so he turned into a dragon? Also, (DON'T GO DOING THIS!!) if you swallow pearl it can make your wrinkles fade thus keeping you young (Chan being the eldest...ok reaching a bit there!!) OVERALL: The original story of the little mermaid is all about sacrificial love. Putting the needs of others before your own...sound familiar?? Gave up my youth for my future. Ariel didn't marry her prince but became a spirit of the air to make children happy.....fireworks?! SKZ are wanting to have souls that will last forever rather than turning into seafoam after 300yrs. They are showing STAY how much they mean as the are literally giving up their life at sea to walk on land for STAY! A pearl cannot be born without a host......STAY would not exist without STRAY KIDS.....STAY is inside/apart of STRAY KIDS!!!!! Last thing...if you've made it this far...thankyou!!! Pearls are the birth stone for Gemini and Cancer...both born in June.....poss comeback??? Sorry about how long this is...ramblings of an old,old,old STAY (age)....I'm so excited for this new "Fantasy" chapter and am sooooo excited to be able to see them live in London in July!!! So I heard about the little mermaid story, and according with some stays, Lee Know was the one who wanted the land, all the others are searching for water where they can breath... The fruit part was kinda Lino chosing the land and he is in an empty pool... Oh and he is the only one who takes his head of the water tank... Later when he wants to go back to the sea, he can't... (The final part which he is on the sea and then it's desert).. As said, it was something I heard and a few thing made sense.. Thinking now, SKZ is out of their element with this song, one of them (I.N maybe? In the Intro video) said they are always fire... It makes sense since it's their fisrt time with this kinda song/genre... It's like their element is water = their mix of genres and powerfull music and now they are exploring new things = land? Idk hahaha

The video is fascinating, everything is in its place and like puzzles all together gives a perfect, harmonious picture to an incredibly beautiful, tender song that flies into your head from the first notes and its motif remains in it all day. Since the release of Lose My Breath, I've been humming it every day. I like that this song is not really in the stray Kids style, I like that in it Ghangbin showed how beautifully a real rapper can sing 😉 I really liked the Hyunjin’s part with his “sensual” rap and it looks like him and at the same time not quite like usually. And the clip itself was shot in an unusual k-pop style and I like it too, a very high-quality, stylish video. Stray Kids is on top as always, having created another hit 👏👏👏 Great collaboration with Charlie Puth 🔥
