Stray Kids debuted as a 9-member group. The one you don't recognize is Kim Woojin (or just Woojin) and he was the main vocalist. In October 2019, JYP announced that he was leaving the group and terminating his contract because of personal reasons. He's now a solo artist.

Yeah back then the lyrics just hit different. Especially the first 3 Albums "I AM NOT" "I AM WHO" and "I AM YOU" you can maybe guess what they where themed about

I have been missing you :) I love when SKZ do a funny song and then you read the lyrics and realize how deep it is. the first 2 years after debut the lyrics in SKZ songs were mostly about growing up and struggles along the way (finding your own path etc). the song is a banger! they still perform it sometimes during encore at concerts! I love how live their vocals sound in the live performance :) after the departure of the ex member, who is a former SM trainee and used to be the main vocalist of SKZ, Han got most of his parts in songs, and other vocalists had to step up as soon as possible to fill in the gap. as far as I know, this is when Seungmin started to take vocal lessons, and his improvement is the most obvious in my opinion (btw his vocal coach is outside of JYPe and is the same person, who is also a vocal coach for Baekhyun of EXO! I don't remember if you know EXO? they debuted under SM in 2012 and are considered vocal kings of kpop, they have the strongest vocal line in kpop and Baekhyun is one of the main vocalists of the group, Seungmin once called Baekhyun the God of kpop). I agree that young Lee Know looked like young JK in that shot :) I don't think their older versions look as similar. btw fun fact: a few days ago Lee Know, JK and a member of ASTRO were spotted eating together near the place where JK is doing his military service :) I laughed so hard when you noticed the 9th member. I am sure people have told you they debuted as 9 at the beginning of your SKZ journey, but I understand why you have forgotten about it :). the former member is called Woojin, he left SKZ 1.5 years after their debut and is a soloist now. officially he left "due to personal reasons", but there are no further details that were announced to the public officially (that's why there are plenty of speculations on the internet XD). taking into account his departure was announced shortly before the comeback with "levanter" so that JYPe had to re-edit the "austronaut" MV (a pre-release song) to cut him out, JYPe had to announce a delay of the comeback in order to reprint all the albums without him, re-record the songs of the new album and adjust the choreography, and finally taking into account all these stories how idols go through months-long law suits to quit companies and Woojin left "suddenly" (SKZ were super quiet for a few weeks and then suddenly the departure was announced and soon after that the comeback postponement), I have a strong personal feeling the company also had its reasons to let him go but was just nice enough not to say anything what could damage his reputation. SKZ have emphasized that they are 8 members multiple times; they have re-released almost all songs without Woojin's voice and if needed with changed lyrics (to delete his name from song credits or to eliminate mentioning of 9 members in the song lyrics) in 2 albums (SKZ2020 and SKZ2021); in one stream a year ago Chan was googling something and saw a website using a picture with 9 members and he was visibly annoyed that not a newer picture was used. So it is safe to say that whatever the real reason of Woojin's departure was, they broke up on bad terms and SKZ don't want Woojin to be associated with SKZ.

the situation with WJ was really very strange You will only know that SKZ had 9 members when you watch old mv They even made two albums with all the songs re-recorded, removing WJ from them, some thumbnail cutting him out. In all my years of kpop I have never seen this happen. Not even groups where I saw members expelled or even ARRESTED.

It’s been so long, it’s so refreshing to watch your reactions, I love your format. For me personally it’s just that I only like 2 groups, BIGBANG and Stray Kids, I tried others but they’re not for me. Because of that I don’t get to see you often (psst do more Stray Kids). Speaking of BIGBANG, did you know that it’s official, GD is coming back 2nd half of this year with a new solo album, world tour and a concert at the sphere in Las Vegas after a 7 year hiatus. I hope I can get tickets for the Sphere and also closest place to me on his tour. SKZ is also having a world tour that I don’t want to miss. Hope I can get tickets. Until next time 💛💛💛💛💛
