I remember hyunmin/seungjin literally started cuz during stray kids the show, there was a short clip of hyunjin helping seungmin pull up his sleeves AND WITH JUST THAT CLIP THEIR SHIP SUDDENLY WAS CREATED AND BECAME LIKE THE SECOND MOST POPULAR SHIP AFTER CHANGLIX (this was before minsung was discovered...which is kinda odd cuz minsung had soo many small moments no one noticed until they became obvious) then more ships appeared like woojin x hyunjin was quite popular at some point hahahaa and eventually after a while this ship died down cuz of changjin and seungin. Still pupolar but I think he reason they are quite popular other than the cute interactions is the aesthetics of these two

A few more seungjin facts if u’d like to know: 1)that vlive date was on the 8th of june AKA soulmate/best friend day 2) hyunjin said both him and seungmin are opposites like you said and he said that he himself (hyunjin) is tough on the outside but is a softie on the inside whereas seungmin is a softie on the outside but he is really strong minded and calm. He said that they have a strong dynamic despite the difference and he even says that he always leaves the first button of his shirt undone but seungmin always buttons it for him 🥺 3) hyunjin says he goes through a lot of anxiety and he says that seungmin is like his emotional support guide and is always there to listen to him. Even today he said that he finds it difficult to speak about his problems with other members but he is comfortable with seungmin and seungmin always listens to him so he is grateful for him. One time hyunjin was crying about his problems and seungmin sat with him holding his hand for 30 mins just being there for him and i find that so heartwarming. Like you said, this ship is not over the top but they are just so cute together and have such a great bond which is what makes them one of the top 3 ships along with minsung and changlix.
