Stray Kids songs tend to have multiple readings. This one you can read as being about the relationship between an artist and the fame and everything that comes with it (hence at the beginning when Changbin talks about being trapped on purpose he takes a selfie with Felix who pulls away in disgust). It's a situation they willingly walked into, and they don't want to leave, but it can be seriously toxic at times. But because their songwriting is so good you also can read it as being about a toxic relationship that's romantic/intense too. For the beats you want to thank Bang Chan, the leader. He's an incredible producer and he tends to have a way of doing something unpredictable with almost every track. Stray Kids cover almost every genre. I second the recommendation to check out Freeze next, from the same album. If you want to see another side to them Lonely Street is more rock ballad leaning on the same album. The lyrics and meaning are deep on that one too.

The food is a metaphor for the praise and social media that you get fed daily, but if you consume too much it poisons you from the inside. The relationship between idols/ celebrities, fans and the expectations can be overwhelming, but also you don’t wanna quit because it is addicting. So even though they could exit out the door, they choose to stay willingly trapped in the situation.

Correct - Stray Kids is known for their self-produced (credits to 3racha especially!) fire-ass beats 🔥 Your observations on the poison being hidden in the food got me thinking. Whatever the context (relationships to others, the self etc.), what makes the web so impossible to escape from is that the venom is WITHIN the sustenance, the source of life itself. So there is a toxic strain inside the thing that keeps them going: with every heartbeat that pumps blood, the poison spreads further. Changbin's verse might kind of cross-reference the pre-chorus in Maniac (Oddinary's title track) but instead of a dormant volcano or a sealed tornado, nothing is held back here since the hurricane is raging. Lastly, you'd probably like the choreo for this song that was shown at their concerts in Seoul.

Honestly, with the visuals between bangchan and felix specifically with the selfie , PLUS every scene he has with the other members....but since bangchan in the leader and he is 'free" and the others are still tied up, it feels to me like bangchan was "forcing" the others into this life of fame ...(especially with the "last supper" where he is knowingly hiding venomous spiders in their food and he is shown with a light on him) ."no escape got me wrapped around your fingers" to me it feels like a love song (doesn't have to be romantic) from the rest of the members to bangchan, like he has them tied up, but at the end they decide that they don't ever want to leave him and are welcoming this venomous lifestyle in order to stay around him... ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡

Venom could be referenced to an addiction. Whether it be relationship, drug, gaming, shopping…whatever. Addictions can consume one’s life. It’s so hard to get out of, many had tried only to find themselves coming back for more. Eventually for some, they just gave up trying and somehow allow themselves to be trapped in it even though they are aware of the danger that comes with it.

( My take on what this songs bout) I feel that the spiderweb is social media and how you can get rapped up in it and the spider is all the toxic things you can consume from it and how it can controll you after. And after they took the spider they started acting like it ( like how social media can change you and do things to your mind and make you do things that you normaly wouldent.)
