This is not a comparison but for hoshi, I think it talks more about love and how he can't get away from it. Making the relationship toxic. For skz, I think it's more deeper than that, the spider represents anxiety and depression. They are trapped and can't get away from it. Now this is where it turns more toxic. Felix is controlling the spider, which means he has control of his feelings. I.n also said that "feeling threatened has disappeared now" being consumed by darkness and their negative thoughts, that somehow they're used to it. Han pointing the gun on his head, Chan letting I.n hold the arrow that pointed right through his heart and Chan and changbin also doing the sword box illusion. They are numb, as if it's like "If I die, so what?" Basically: if they're trapped, oh well, what's the point of escaping when they purposely wanted to be trapped in the first place. Felix eats the spider and it goes to his heart. The "venom" (anxiety/depression) spreads which means NO ONE can help them but themselves. And at the end, they chose not helping themselves at all, getting stuck by their own thoughts and mind, having no thoughts of escaping. Which then felix closes the door.

My theory: From the teasers and trailers, at least 4 songs in the album are connected and we won't be able to completely interpret the idea without seeing all of them: Lonely st. - Oddinary - venom and may be maniac. So you run from yourself your whole life to fit into society and once you give up, new worlds or dimensions open to you. The "lost" phase in lonely st. In "Venom" the spider is a black widow and the band is the male who just "mated" with her and he fkn knows she'll finish him lol but he enjoys it because the is literally no escape it's done 😂 this is the general concept. BUT the real thought is that when we realize we are definitely alone with nothing to be but being this boy band and caught in JYP contract (they all suffered at one point we all know it 😢) and the pressure kpop industry puts on these people, they start to just go with all the bad things (venom lyrics) better have fun while we're at it. Hyunjin part here is my fav. He literally mocks the company after the way they treated him and the situation and sending him out last year. But fk he didn't give a damn and he's back stronger than ever. Side note: When Hyunjin says you got me like Harley (Harley Quinn), In Oddinary trailer, we see Hyunjin pushing Felix and jumping after him (like the joker and Harley in suicide squad) 🤔 Finally the venom took effect and they become .. Maniacs 😂 So they are releasing the vms backwards, PROBABLY. I wrote too much but I love you man and appreciate your thoughts in every reaction and I wanted to share mine here with you. We can observe how much SKZ is struggling with fame and the pressure + addiction that they feel by the overwhelming love that they receive. Hyunjin shooting love bullets? Man... Also the scene where Lee Know observes all the other members numb with poison; as per my observation Lee Know is the only one that still keeps his composure somehow, he is less swayed by fame, is trying his best not to believe all the great things that we Stays say that he is. He is probably afraid that it will all be taken away one day, as he came so close to that in the beginning of their career. The way they specify that their "spider" (mental illness?) makes their fingers go numb? Panic attacks, due to the deprivation of oxygen when hyperventilating, can make your fingers/toes/face go numb. I've had it happen before to me, it's not fun. This is especially potent when you remember that Han, who probably had a big hand in writing this, has social anxiety and most likely has experienced panic attacks before. Stray Kids! Building on your thoughts of the toxicity of self and others in the music video they also start engaging to dangerous activities towards each other, the bow and arrow, the swords in the box, the boxing, hitting a grenade with a bat etc. the toxicity never affects just them. Red Lights on steroids! It definitely in the same vein as Red Lights. It has toxic relationship vibes, but it's a typical SKZ double entendre - they are pitted against each other and themselves in the video, so it's more of an internal struggle and less about a person. But, it's written so you could apply it to a relationship situation too. There are definitely some layers here that will take some time to unpack, but I really love this song and this video! :)

I love how the song production sounds like.. a spider crawling over its web.. Like a creepy strumming of the web strings. I always love it when you're like "I don't think I'm gonna be shocked anymore". I think you need to stop saying that. Every time you say that you get destroyed. I think the album in complete is like coaxing someone (in the group mainly Felix) to open up about their inner weirdness. I say Felix because he seems to change through the M/V in Venom. He also seems to be the only one who keeps controlling 'the spider' in the trap but it ends up being controlled so much to the point that it backfires on him and he is dealing with the venom and buckling under the pressure of the spider by the end. It is definitely about accepting the fact you're in the web. None of them want to escape. Even Felix and Seungmin close the door they were able to open. Coming back to being Oddinary and like "Maniac" I think the theme isn't about a specific person but being your own person. Often mental health and being your true self with people is like being trapped in a spider web. If that makes sense? I went on a tangent :). Also just a little Discord Shoutout! I also had trouble believing that it was about a person or relationship, mainly because a lot of their songs draw inspiration from their lives. In my opinion, I took away that the toxic relationship was possibly their job as idols. It's a hard, challenging, and stressful path to walk, but they put themselves on that path because it's what they love to do and they are happy dealing with those hardships because their hard work gets appreciated by their fans. The industry has them trapped and poisoned with hardship, but they refuse to escape and give up what they've worked so hard on because despite the grind and emotional toll it takes on them, they love what they do and it shows. The general theme, and visuals, being trapped, wanting more, an obsession with something that's not necessarily good for you, potentially harmful... I may be wrong but to me it kind of sounds like the whole kpop industry...where Changbin talks about how he got himself trapped could be their music contracts and the song could be about being trapped in it and the anxiety and the toxic crap that comes from being in the music industry especially kpop....but that cause they love music then its got them wrapped up in it and they dont want to leave....so they are trapped in this web of music industry and they are just trying to navigate their way through it....in their last few songs Stray Kids took aim at their haters etc so it only makes sense that this time they take aim at the industry....maybe i could be totally wrong lol
