I think a good concept for ubi to take into consideration with streamer mode is to have both the username and nickname displayed in match replay. Like username1234 (nickname1234) type deal. That way the people can still be hidden in matches but you can still search them up in match replay if they seem sus.
I've been using streamer mode to avoid being harrased every other game. Its been a relief being able to avoid assholes just by changing my name then not talking if i get matched with them again. Stops people looking up my stats and harrasing me because of them too Simple solution would be to show real usernames in match replay. The point of streamer mode is to prevent stream sniping etc. so the nicknames are useless after the match

Or, and hear me out, they're being harassed because either A) they're a woman, and the siege community is toxic and misogynist as fuck, and people will 100% remember people's names if they hate them enough, or B) they're a younger player, because again, the siege community is toxic as fuck and doesn't want people younger than 15 enjoying the game.
“You can report in game but when has that ever worked” Reporting via ticket/twitter doesn’t work all that often either. I reported someone and their squad for going in a racist tirade, tk’ing and reverse tk’ing and ubisoft said they sent it to their security team but the players were never banned.

I just like funny names for streamer mode, I feel like it should be made to where they reveal the real player name in replay mode so you can see the fact and real name when reviewing
@@ahta5708 its not quite ubi's fault. The code for this game is very old so its not hard to hack into it and change shit, just like tf2 im impressed its not just all bots yet.

I’ve noticed the streamer mode issue too in Valorant. There was an enemy who just knew where everybody was so I thought they had walls but wanted to look the stats up to make sure. They were using streamer mode so I obviously couldn’t see their profile. I didn’t end up reporting them because their team said they were a 5 stack and this was one of their friend’s diamond smurf account. I believed it because they kinda fell off during the second half and thought they were just having a godly game. After the match I was able to see the name and when I looked the stats up they had a 9.7 KD across 100+ games in ranked. And unfortunately, there’s no way to report players after they leave your match
Match ID on the bottom right of the scoreboard is all you need, I mainly use streamer mode to get away from throwers. Ubi does not punish these grown babies who think it's cool to throw your game in any way they can.
Sadly when the only efficient way to get people banned is by sharing a clip of them cheating, it means that a lot of these people will get away when we don't know their actual account name
@@VarsityGaming I see where you are coming from though, hopefully they will fix this issue. We need a way to report them in replay and also show both their real gamer-tag and privacy nickname.
@@VarsityGaming that's why you report the match ID. ubi will see who they actually are. if someone didn't report anything and take intuitive that's on them
I like streamer mode being available to everyone mainly because of things like ip trackers and DDOSing. We've had a problem with it on console once, and I wouldn't be surprised if it happened again, or if it's still happening on a smaller scale.
streamer mode doesnt hide your ip, also.. its very hard to pull ips in games like seige due to them have decided servers, unless u joined someones party, its very unlikely
Some time ago you showed us how the number if bans was decreasing, trending downwards...My point is, is it possible that it is totally correlated with the fact that it's now harder to identify cheaters because of streamer mode?
Wow. I was in the first game. My tag is TimatoTvT. I was doing a challenge of getting 1 kill with every op. If I remember correctly, we were all shit talking the Lancelot guy cause he wouldn't do anything for us as Mav. Good to see varsity said the same thing lol
i feel like in the last game, he would hop on drone and hop off so the person he gets doesnt susspect he was hacking, ("just good intel") because you dont see the drone perspective in kill cams
well, that's already a requirement for ranked, and since the whole point of streamer mode is so that streamers can play ranked without worrying about stream snipers... easy solution? make streamer mode only useable in ranked.
@@imzesok I mean, lots of streamers (varsity and macie both) basically only play unranked. They still don't want to deal with stream snipers. Doesn't seem realistic to limit streamer mode to ranked.
@@clonkex some do, play unranked, but the original intent behind the streamer mode was to keep streamers from losing elo to stream cheaters. losing a game in unranked/casual to a stream cheater, doesn't mean all that much, beyond the sheer annoyance factor(which is understandable, but there's still nothing at stake there).
The problem is that for console when you load up siege it stops streaming and says doesn’t allow broadcasting so doing so for only streamers or affiliate would get ride of the console player base of streamers to an extent
If you’re streaming through the program the console has built in it does it no matter what game you change to or atleast does on ps4. But once in the game you can start stream again just can’t mid stream switch games without it stopping this comment is confusing personally have streamed on twitch on siege no problem
I dont know if you heard but you could hear oryx exhale in the first round, which i think could be a tell if the submitter was legit and not self submitting, although probably rare to find matches in which they play oryx
47:17 i think this is so the people in the match dont get sus cause when they get on drone in the replay for the guy who died they just see a blank phone screen then they can just assume that they were seen on the drone

What about a steamer mode "plus" for affiliated streamers? Then you have regular streamer mode for everyone else but you must link your platform with siege for it to be activated
My stack uses streamer mode to come up with fun dumb team names. But absolutely it shouldn’t be for everyone. They could make it a 50 follower/10 sub + only thing that you petition for. That way you aren’t really gatekeeping anyone who might want to use it for it’s purpose, but keep it out of cheaters hands
There is a way to bypass streamer mode currently. Just send a friend request, that way you’ll see the actual name of the account from where you check for ”pending friend requests”
2 things that ubisoft should do, is show what the player's nicks are after a match, and allow you to communicate and do things after the match instead of it being locked out. the second thing I would to be changed is for custom hud controls to be stored in memory, and not changed by switching to normal, scenimatic or minimized.

At least on Xbox, it’s harder to get ddossed cuz they can’t look up your username on xresolver so yeah there is a reason for streamer mode for non streamers
an easy way to find a person's real name is You block them and open ubisoft connect menu. Then you look at blocked players and it should show the real name
I think the person that said they might get on camera to make the kill cam look like they got droned out was on to something. A lot of cheaters think people won't go back and watch replays. This is why sometimes you have cheaters where they will keep looking and pinging for someone on their team to get the kill. It will make it less sus in a kill cam but will be a dead giveaway from the replay.
I feel like your super under estimating game sound in some of these clips. You can definitely use foot steps and other game sounds to pretty much locate players or at least know the general area they’re in
its hard, thed need to set up a verification system to prove their identity, and if that system isnt manually reviewed, people can just pretend to be streamers and get a pass. Manually reviewing also requieres staff

Yeah. I only use tracker every once in a while because I am on console. It really only gathers data from the last little while. So if they haven't used it in a while that info doesn't get logged.
Post game lobby report that reveals their name at the end would be good. If they just rework, it and we see a scoreboard of their names revealed, to look up stats/report, etc.
I use streamer mode on Xbox because there’s a website called xresolver where it shows your ip and stuff so it makes it easier to get dosed and if you hide your name you can’t search the player on the website
Coming from an ex cheater here about a few months ago. What we would do is when we can see somebody pushing up we will back up and wait for them to swing us as the last guy did here many times we will usully run in things pretend we dont know they are behind us then "check" to see if somebody is about to peek us.... I DONT CHEAT ANYMORE
I think they should just show the real names on match replay, what would be the issue? The whole point of streamer mode is avoid stream sniping and stuff, let it happen. Cause if you make it only for licensed streamers or something a pack of 4 people who watch someone who is just sharing his gameplay could bully them ruining the idea of streamer mode. Varsity, not sure why hackers go afk in the beginning of the round. Cause you need to inject the hacks before you start up the game. Or atleast that’s how it is for the ones I know of. People can get esp(walls) for like $5-10 a day and $20-30 a week, depends on who and which type they buy. Then there are full blown hacks with silent aim, client sided no recoil,and such but idk how much they cost. Anyway they mainly need to inject it, so no clue why they go afk. Also there are discord servers that are constantly updated about whether the hacks are undetected or not.
I get where you're coming from with the Streamer Mode thing but I think you may be looking at it with a scope rather than seeing the bigger picture. There's a reason they said it was Player Protection. If you're a girl playing Siege things can get really rough. I've been teamkilled and harassed a lot. But also it helps for up and coming streamers and content creators. If you're just trying to start out in the streaming biz, and someone stream snipes you, then you're in a rough spot. The only oversight is that after the match, the true username is not revealed sadly. I agree you should be able to see true names in Match Replay

@@haydennr6 That’s a good point, and I get where you’re coming from. But you gotta remember most girls who play on Siege don’t really use Voice Chat. And Streamer mode lets us change our name to something that at least disguises us from having feminine names in game.
Question but does Rainbow have an overwatch system like CSGO cause I'd personally liked to see more game with that(But the viewer for overwatch shouldn't be able to ban but increase the report accuracy of it)

Streamer mode name change should be tied together with twitch or youtube, when that connected account is streaming, you can change your name. Else put the OG name back.
Also later on he aimed in the middle so it was easier to flick to one side or the other. Like you said he heard them so I don't think match 3 was a cheater maybe just smurfing. That match seemed like it was a good player against noobs or something

My thoughts on streamer mode is that they should do something with your streaming platform. You should have to link your Twitch or RU-vid account to Ubisoft to confirm you are a streamer and then it allows you to change your name.
I really don’t care about the streamer mode thing. I’ve never used it, but they are something I like about people not knowing who I am. They just need to make it how that name comes back to you somehow. You just can’t know who that person is immediately but if you go out of your way you can. Just a idea, probably not even a good one
I use streamer mode and dont stream because i get harassed. Im 300 games in vector glare low plat. Streamer mode name switches has saved me from so many blatant hackers targeting me game after game.
We need Waldo Vision, the amount of cheaters is too damn high in Siege. We happen to cross Cheaters in every fifth match. Why do we know? Cause after we report, we recieve the message in the menu, that it lead to sanctions.
Hahaha that was me in the last match (not the cheater obviously DeMan..) I got told I was going to get accused of cheating cause I went 19-6 and I thought it was going to be a PoV of me 🤣🤣 (I don't cheat in case I need to specify)
Imagine if the streamer name when search in the tracker pulled up only those accounts who've used that name within the last 30 of course if a player is in an active game their name won't show until their match has been over for 30 min

Yo Varsity cant you use the MatchID from the replay to find the Players inside the Match? Or at least include the Match ID in your report to Ubi with the nickname used
