This is a great EDC flashlight IMHO. It lives in my left lower cargo pants pocket 24/7. ...CAUTION if buying this from Amazon. Some Amazon sellers are shipping cheap knockoffs, not a genuine Streamlights. A sure sign that you got a knockoff is when there is no Streamlight logo on the activation button and it did not come with two batteries.

I’ve gone back to buying Streamlight only, the other brands all fail. Surefire is out of my budget. Been using Streamlights since 1990 or so in my work, and they hold up.

@Avengers: The Investing Initiative I'm 0 for 2 with Olight, and I've tried a few other brands looking for a deal. I just stick with what has worked for me. I made a statement hoping to save a few people the expense of trying a bunch of lights, in support of what Fernando shared. Good luck.

14500's work as well and with some modification to remove the spacers, you can use an 18650

The protac 1L-1aa is actually a quadruple fuel light. It will also run off of a AAAA battery! I have tested all four fuel cells. Cr123a, AA, AAA, and AAAA

Super Moon I’ve been wondering too. It might work, but with the risk of burning up if used too long. The highest voltage for these lights is 3.2, 14500s, 10440s and rechargeable versions of CR123s are 3.7 volts. What I don’t know is why Streamlight hasn’t upgraded to handle 3.7v.

Basically the same as my railmount 1. I ran it for a year with a cr123r or a 14500 with no issues.

Outdoors Man it's definitely a lot brighter than your standard aa battery, but maybe just a little brighter than when you run a cr123. In terms of lumens I couldn't tell you.

I have two. My first one dims out on the CR123A after 10 minutes and the second one at 30. I suspect that the 30 minutes is what most will last realistically. So far none of my flash lights that I've purchased over the past decade have have lasted half the advertised run time. I not only work night shifts but also am a night person when I am off. I use flash lights regularly.
@forgedsteelwrench9249

I have to agree with this comment 💯percent. I usually blast my streamlights in their highest setting when turning wrenches and not one has fulfilled the posted times for 🔋 life. I keep using because of their durable and reliability but my stinger HL has already killed 3 🔋 's since owning them. Thirsty bastard😆.

I got myself a surefire. Every year I think I lose it and have a panic attack. Then just as I am about to buy a streamtlight I somehow find it. I really like how this can take a CR123 or a AA (or AAA!) very nice.

Could anyone tell me if the head screws off this flashlight? Not sure it will fit my light mount if it doesn't. If anyone has a calipers and would measure the diameter of that little strip where the clip goes on to the flashlight body, that would be even better

The olight s1a is 600 lumens and the same price. I prefer rear click buttons and the olight is on the side, but is it really worth having a rear button to sacrifice almost half of the brightness?

Triple fuel, really? Stick a neodymium magnet on the negative of a AAA cell and you can use it in a AA so all AA flashlights are dual fuel? If the AA light can use a 14500 as many can, then they are triple fuel? Then the Thorfire eco1 can take an A cell or 16500 so it's a quadruple fuel unless you stack some magnets and then you use some 16xxx series 3.7v. LOLOLOLOL. A $4 flashlight.
@TheModernSurvivalist
@TheModernSurvivalist 5 лет назад
No, not all AA are dual fuel, because you dont use it as is, as you said, you have to stick a magnet. I very much doubt you carry magnets around with you at all times.

@robertkubrick3738
@robertkubrick3738 Год назад
@@uuuultra May sound goofy but if it works, then is it really goofy? Besides a moron told me I was having to use a magnet? That's only for the severly underlength batteries. If you want something that will work with 8 or more different batteries, maybe you need a cheap flashlight and a couple magnets. Certainly today, dual fuel is nothing special. Some manufacturers provide O-rings to use under diameter batteries in their flashlights. What is really goofy is throwing away capabilities in a survival situation. My flashlight has a cap magnet, it takes virtually no space to stick another magnet to it so it's always with you.
