I carry the p2000 sk and the usp compact. Thanks to you, by watching your vids, I have several HK’s in the collection now. P2000 9mm, P2000 40 s&w, P2000 sk 9 mm, USP Compact 45, usp elite 45, usp expert 45. And I’m looking at getting the P30s in 9mm. You have single handedly influenced my HK obsession, so thank you!
Nice to see you back on the youtubes my friend! I just picked up a TLR-7A myself last month for my new CZ P-01. Such a great combo I love this light. Fits perfectly flush with the muzzle. Don’t let anyone tell you the USP compact is antiquated technology, there’s a reason they are so highly sought after nearly 30 years later. Wouldn’t be my number one carry piece but I still need one at some point lol.
@@FrontierSetter I was hesitant at first because I didn’t want to be a hipster. But I put like 500 rounds through it in the first month I had it. There’s definitely something special about them. And I love having a DA/SA now. So far it’s been my favorite gun to shoot even more than the Walther which is really saying something. Hope your life stays on track and your situation improves! Seems like we are all going through hard times lately. Life always throwing something at us. Stay positive! I’m hoping to get more content out this summer myself. We’ll see how things go.
Trying new things sometimes yields awesome results! I know CZs have a HUGE aftermarket too, so mods are much easier if you're into that kinda thing. Thanks for the positive vibes Shawn! Really do appreciate the nice words 💕💕
Glad to see your still kicking, it’s 6am and I’m surfing RU-vid cause i can’t sleep. Then i remembered how frontier setter exist so i slide to your channel to check out your latest videos on a flashlight i have no intention of buying fitting a gun i don’t own 🤟🏽😂 Keep up the work in school, I’m currently taking a IT class so i feel the struggle in grinding/ lvling up the Intellect. Looking forward to more videos from you!
Oh man I use RU-vid for the same reasons, that insomnia is a real treat lol. Thanks for continuing to tune in even though I'm not as consistent as I want to be 🥺. Oh heck ya dude!! IT is the way to go, I got a bunch of friends in that field pulling 6 figures. I wish I went into that instead of healthcare lol. Keep on keeping on brotha!!!
Gotta love the small cult of people carrying their outdated German pews. I'll probably be one of the few carrying the usp compact, even though I've also got a p2000, a Glock 19, and even a p30sk. Oh well, USP is life . Glad to see you're doing well man
HK reminds me of PC gaming. If we want something, we just gotta modify it ourselves, since you know they won't alter old designs, but rather release a whole new gun lol. Thanks for the kind words my dude, I had a collection quite similar last year, now I only run generation 2 glocks lol.
@@FrontierSetter yeah, HK has a tendency to just move onto the next weapon after a bit. Still, I love them. Although I may just stick to carrying my G19 or my p10c , as much as I would love to appendix my full size USP.
@@FrontierSetter that's not just a guy, that's solid snake. I couldn't imagine it, the USP is my favorite but it's so big. Let alone a mk. 23. And I totally feel you there, I'm such a fan of hammer fired handguns, way more so than my strikers. I do wanna look into the p07 as well, I hear great things about them
Hey man, lots of luck with school! I’ve been going down the HK rabbit hole. Then I wondered why I haven’t seen content from you in a while. My wife and I luckily went on Tower of Terror at the end of the day, because my pants wouldn’t have lasted 5 seconds longer on that thing!
Thank you! Any HK's you're particularly interested in? I'm still debating between a HK45C or a Mark23 as my first 45. I know the HK45C is far more practical, but the Mark23 is just so iconic. I just took one of my finals yesterday and have one more next week. During summer I hope to get back out to the range and actually make more content. I do miss it a lot ;_; Oh man, I agree about Tower of Terror. I know it's a ride for kids, but the up and down motions always mess me up lol
Frontier is back!! Glad all is well with u bro, I to carry my usp 40c it is a pain hk made there guard rails close that’s good O’l economics still tryna find a holster to conceal with my usp TLR- 8 streamlight anyway stay up Man U bring the best content ur vidz are unmatched…
Thanks for continuing to turn in! I got a suggestion that KT-mech is a great option for custom light bearing holsters for HKs!!!! kt-mech.com/m_akd/akd_HK_USP_45_7009.html it might help ya!!!
When you said, " the only two people carrying a USP is me and the person watching the video.". I was putting my usp away in my drawer and, solid snake style, was startled. And looked over my shoulder.
Oh for sure! The ATF and HLS never hit me back up, which is good. I'm gonna call it good for now. I want to make a drawn storytime video on that one day, as I think the whole situation is kinda funny now that I look back.
Thank you for the support!!! It really means a lot especially because I haven't been able to put much time into the channel the past few years. Really looking forward to getting back into it this summer. Planning on a few range trips to get some footage for new content 👍👍
I had one for a bit but I got rid of it. Was too inactive and then a bunch of feds were supposedly in there because it was a lot of firearms content etc... I'll probably start it over again when I can dedicate my time to the channel though!
Welcome back! I'm actually in the process of getting my first 9mm USP(already have a USP45 and USP45 Elite), a stainless one at that if I win. I still carry my P2000V2(still need to get the SK) AIWB. As for lights I have played with a TLR7 on one of my P99s, it decided to fly off my frame after 2 mags, I guess tightening until stripping the threads is the only way to keep it from walking with Jesus. As for Olight I use a Valkyrie 2 on my P2000 as my current house gun(though I'm thinking of switching to a Beretta 92 or S&W Third Gen for that). I love the locking levers Olight uses along with their activation buttons but I'll be the first to say the lights themselves aren't great, sure they're very bright but they can drain their batteries just sitting and you can't leave the light on very long because the light's body gets very hot.
Thank you for the warm welcome! Also thank you for the insight on these lights. I feel like other people's experiences are so important in picking the right setup for yourself. That's always the worrisome thing with these thin threads 😰😰😰
Thank you for the warm welcome! Looking forward to making some new contents for ya'll! Probably be a lot of short-form content until I can work on the long-form reviews. Stay tuned!!!
The p2000 (non SK) is the solution to the light problem. It’s basically a USP compact that has been optimized for carry. Has a standard pic rail, I highly recommend.
I might just have to settle with a tlr-3. The surefire GG&G is still my go-to, but man is it annoying having to take it off when I wanna use some of my holsters 😰😰
I love my full size USP 45, but I don’t carry it. It’s a beast! But it’s a great bedside option. Do you know if the TLR7 fit on the full size version? I currently have the TLR3 on it.
I unfortunately never tested it, but I highly doubt it. There just isn't enough height clearance in the mount itself for it to sit flush properly. I guess you COULD cut a notch into the frame itself to get the screw to fit, but I'd advise against it lol.
It's one of my favorites for sure! I just wish they'd make more anime lol. I'm trying to teach myself peekaboo now, super different from how I used to box, very tiring but also very fun!
For sure! Honestly, the P2000 is essentially a modernized USP. Internals are practically the same (albeit different trigger systems for the decocker) which means reliability is very high for both guns. I might get a P2000 one day to complement the P2000sk.
Just ordered a usp9 tactical- and now I want a usp9 compact, p2000sk, and usp45 tac 😂. Also, I know a couple fellas who carry the compact- You’re not alone!
@@FrontierSetter have a p2000sk v2 LEM and usp45 tac on layaway haha. Just gotta find the usp9 compact now. Will probably continue to carry the p365 but all about the HK life.
@@FrontierSetter single stack wouldn’t make much sense nowadays but a micro would be nice. As much as I dislike Sig they did it right with the p365… after the beta testing w consumers of course.
It would fit well with the gg&g mount on a full size USP. Might look a bit small, I'm not sure if it'll be a flush fit. But it's a very solid light. I'd give it a try, if you don't like it you can always return it!
I think the tlr7 mentioned in the video would be just slightly shorter. I think some inforce lights might be flush fit with the USP, however that brand isn't that good of quality.
I'm thinking about making my own kydex holster because one that fits my needs would literally be unobtainium 1. it needs to fit a match weight 2. it also needs to fit a TLR2 probably
I've thought about doing the same thing. Im just kinda lazy to buy all the equipment to form kydex lol. It doesn't seem too difficult though, a ton of tutorials on RU-vid thankfully.
It's really slim pickins for USP/P2000 w/ WMLs honestly. One of the better options that can help is the Phlster Floodlight (www.phlsterholsters.com/shop/floodlight/). What makes it special is that the kydex indexes on to the light itself, instead of the pistol. I haven't tried it with any adapters though, I've read it does work, but it might be a snug fit.
@@FrontierSetter i have one for the TLR-1 and have a GG&G adapter. I'll try to fit it up tonight and let you know. A bit thiccc for IWB. I'd love something for the tlr-7.
Thanks for the feedback! Yeah, I think thats one of the bigger issues with the massive WMLs, just a bit bulk for me personally. But I'm stubborn and refuse to carry a single stack lol.
Lol thank you for the support! I think when we settle down in a better (less restrictive) state things will go a lot smoother. Just want to get able to have my own personal range 🥲
Never had a chance to try the XRs unfortunately, at the time, trijicon only had limited guns that made the XR for. From what I've read the front sight post is supposed to be slightly smaller to provide better precision.
@@FrontierSetter yellow or orange for you? I need to stay off the forums people talking about "I see yellow better, astigmatism picks up yellow/green better". To me I can pick up both about the same
Some forums are good, but some I feel like the posters don't even use the stuff and just parrot what they've read. I also have very bad astigmatism, I prefer green/yellow sights. Same reason why I gotta use prism scopes, the trijicon acog ta44 w/ green looks perfect for my eyes. Same thing with the yellow dot HDs, very easy on my eyes, easy to pick up. Definitely recommend the yellow 👍👍
1. I shot my USPc yesterday! 2. I have a Surefire adaptor! 3. Have you seen the mod where you cut the rail on the frame itself? It’s very old on HKpro, but look it up if interested. I tried it on a blue gun and it 100% worked, but there is NO holsters for it. I never had the guts to actually do it to the real gun
I think I have seen something similar, when you cut a groove to simulate the 1913 rail slot? I also don't have the guts to do it lmao. That Surefire adaptor is definitely THE BEST mounting solution, a true unicorn in all the ways lol.
@@FrontierSetter yea, I’ll send you a link to it later if I can find it. Also, just finished the second half of your video, sorry to hear about gf’s situation man; I hope everything is alright!
Yes! And no sweat if you can't, forums can be a pain to dig through sometimes. Yeah, it was a long time coming, too much stress where she was at with her family and what not. But we're safe and we're working on logistics to move her animals (nigerian drawf goats) out of this state into somewhere a lot more inviting. Thanks for the support spur, I know you were there from the beginning of this channel and I appreciate it all
@@FrontierSetter Same tbh. It was a good group and I feel bad because I'm in a thousand servers and it was one of the ones I never paid enough attention to.
Thank youuuu 🥰🥰🥰 oh y'all don't have to send me anything. I don't deserve such kindness. I gotta put out more content first to make up for lost time 🥲🥲🥲
Hahaha oh no! I promise I mean no offense. Just disappointed it didn't fit as secure as I would've preferred it. Honestly, its a pretty cool look for the USP compact. I wish brands still cared about this obscure pistol as much as we did, but I know I'm just praying to a dead god x.x
@@FrontierSetter ;-) No worries just had to give you a hard time when I was sitting here watching the video and then saw me flash across the screen I was like HEEEYyyyyy. ;-) I love my USPs and USPCs, and honestly if they would offer it optics ready with standard pic rail, with no other changes, it would be my grail gun. I know, I know, that is what the P30/p2000/HK45 are, but I have all those, and I just keep getting sucked back to the iconic look and feel of the USP line. They sure got some things right with that gun. I have settled for an optics ready VP9 for now with the TLR8a as my EDC, but it just doesnt have that tank like feel of the USP line . . .
Oh man, I totally agree. Love the USPs and USPcs but just can't bring myself to mod in the rail or get it custom milled. I'd rather have HK do it from factory. It does bring me hope when they released the VP9OR though, but I feel like they're only going to keep it on that series :C I'd kill for a P30 optics ready, but we know HK... lol. The USP like you said is just an overbuilt brick of a gun, reliable through hell and back. I had a VP9 in the past before the OR version came out but the machinist who milled my slide did a fucking terrible job and basically ruined that whole slide for me. I am glad HK is finding success with their VP9s but I wish hammer fired would come back lol. Have you seen any news on their newly patented single stack gun per chance? I only lurk on the HKpro forums, no username yet.
Imo, I don't see why you need a light on your ccw. If you tell me "to identify the target," well, if you are drawing a gun to identify the target, you are committing a felony. So the question remains.
Glad to see that you're still making content and doing well. I may have to get some of those cat doors for my three cats. As for the TLR7a, I use one on my VP9. It's by far my favorite light. If I had a USPC I'd carry one haha.
They are super handy! The ones I got is here (www.amazon.com/dp/B08YR3LT71?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2_dt_b_product_details). It's nice because you never have to worry about accidentally locking them in a room somewhere lol. I kind of regret selling my VP9, it would've been such a breeze finding holsters and aftermarket parts for it compared to my other HKs. Maybe in the future I'll get a VP9SK and use the TLR7A on it. The flex buttons are just amazing!
@@FrontierSetter Thanks for the link! I could definitely use them on the basement door, so I don't have to keep it open all the time. Yeah VP9s are great. I have a P30L too and I love the magazine compatibility. I may get a VP9SK, P30SK or a P2000. I'd like something smaller to carry. The flex buttons are pretty great!
That's a perfect use for the little cat hole lol. Ahhhh P30L MR.WICK. I know HK had filed patents a while back regarding a new single stack striker pistol. No news on it yet, but might be interesting for those wanting a smaller HK carry!
@@FrontierSetter The P30L is a great pistol. More accurate than I'll ever be lol. That would be a nice option for us HK boys. I know I would be all for it.
I just tried this on my full size usp 40 and i already knew just by looking at it, it would not hold well but it did feel snug. Oh well back on the glock it goes 😅
you can actually use a Olight Pl 2 MINI Valkirye just remove the 2 screws that hold the rail bar in the light and loose the side screw and you got a direct solid light mount without an adaptor
i'm hoping to stay longer this time lol. the vlogs and reviews are going to be long-form content so it'll take me time to edit. but i hope ya'll enjoy future content, even though they seemly come only months at a time x.x
Boxing and wrestling eh? Are you trying to get into mma bro? If so, good luck, I'm trying to start that journey myself soon! I'm glad to see you're doing alright, thanks for the vids as always.
Nah, no MMA for me. I used to box in college, but I want to do wrestling now to round myself out for overall fitness. I'm much too old to get into competitive combat sports unfortunately my peak has past long ago lol. Good luck on your combat journey! It is a fun sport and I'm sure you'll love it!
I have the cheaper one and the quality really isn't that great. The ring light is cool but kinda too bright at times so I never use it. I guess the only good thing about it is the aesthetic lmao.
Man, that sucks bout that drama. Sorry ta hear ya had ta beat a fool down. Never a fun time, for sure. Glad you guys are safe tho. The struggle is real! I myself, am rockin' the TLR-3 on my USP 45. It puts the light at the best alignment to the pistol, IMO. ( Not the brightest light tho.) GG&G adapter would prolly be the next best thing. But as you said, it puts the light a lil lower than I would like. Say hi to Papa Setter for me. Stay safe as the world goes to shit. And as always, thanks for the share!!
Yeah man, it was a terrible night, but I'm glad I showed restraint. I might just buy a TLR-3 just to save the headache honestly. I like things with perfect fitment, just way more peace of mind lol. I wish there was a way to change out the bulb on the TLR-3, but I'm not savvy enough with electrical engineering to figure out how to go about doing that. Will do! Thanks for the support. Hope all is well with you and yours!
Hahaha thanks for the kind comment! Yesss, I plan to get into making newer content soon. Just been busy with a new job and saving up for some bigger projects. 🙏🙏🙏
Well, well, well. Look who decided to grace us with content.....seriously it's good to see you again. :) Oh and I'm seriously about to get a P2000SK for carry.
Hahaha I know right? I'm sry for being away for so long but it felt great making vids again. Thanks for the welcome back! The pew2000sk I've carried for like 4 years now. A beautiful gun, definitely underrated! I do suggest getting the extended mag release if you intend on running it. Makes it a lot easier to drop mags.
Unfortunately you cannot, there simply is not enough clearance for the screw. It mounts too close to the USP rail. You can see how off set it is because the screw is off angle. The only way is to modify the gun, which I am not willing to do lol
Olight mini 2 pro fits "perfectly" if you remove the pic rail piece. It slides back and forth until you latch it down (not unexpected). Granted... olight. But I've abused an odin with smacks, drops, hits, etc. If I wanted to grind the TLR, probably fit fine, but nah.
@@FrontierSetter No problem! I edited my comment a little bit for clarification on the process to make it fit. I have yet to fire it with the olight as I just got my USPc.
I got my uspc after saving for two months for a full auto scar while I was in the army... Some officer got off work before me and grabbed it so I ended up with a hk and a lot of things for my AR-15 build. . . . .
lol olight. I had one. Then I saw the light and put a streamlight on my p99. Thing was garbage and didn’t hold a charge with zero use. Seeing all of the olight fanboys in the olight problems fb page is always great. Anyways, always happy to see you upload.
Definitely one of the issues with using poorzone quality lithium ion batteries lol. Their facebook page is littered with a ton of copium, even when the company themselves admit their products are made with subpar arguably dangerous components. But it is what it is, tO eAcH hIs OwN lol. Thanks for the kind words my dude, I think once we get the hell outta MA, we'll both be much happier.
Dude I love your videos! You're the reason I went ahead and purchased both a Jericho 941 and a USP45 recently. Always wanted a gun and couldn't make up my mind as to what the best looking, quality firearm would be for my first. Ultimately decided on the Jericho after watching your Cowboy Bebop video. Your approach towards firearms and how you explain things makes the world of it all very endearing and welcoming. The blend of anime and gaming culture is also a nice touch, very different theme than most of the firearm content on RU-vid. You're a cool dude, keep up the awesome content!
It brings me much joy that I was able to help you with these decisions! Also great choices, some of the best looking guns on the market in my honest opinion. I can't wait to get back into making firearms content again. One of my close friends just signed up for a new local range so I'm hoping to get back out there and film some good b-roll footage. Thanks for the kind words, I really do appreciate it!
I'm like that father that disappears for years on end while buying cigarettes. The uploads will always pop up, and I definitely want to make more stuff once I graduate school. All in due time! Thank you for watching Anthony, I do very much appreciate it!
That shot of you on the Tower of Terror 😂 Don't sweat the upload schedule dude, tons of top level youtubers who do the same. And it's always a welcome surprise when we finally see an upload. I'll still be here refreshing tabs on California HK P2000 inventory.
Hahaha I am deathly afraid of heights, for some reason that ride just brings it out of me the worst lol. I have faith you'll get a P2000 soon. I know HK sends out their guns in huge batches so sometimes it feels like it takes forever and then you'll have a lot to choose from all of a sudden.
I would still not try it. The screw is basically being bent downwards because there isnt enough clearance in HK's rail. Overtime, I suspect the light to fall off.
No worries, I should be the one to apologize for being such an inconsistent content creator ;_; Thank you for sticking around DeOnna! Hope you and your are doing well!
I carry a HK usp 45 compact can anyone recommend a website and adapter and best streamlight for it. I carry for duty purposes is there and also need a holster that’s can accommodate the light. Safariland doesn’t make a duty holster for any lights at this moment only duty holsters without the light.
The GG&G adapter is the easiest to get and has superb quality. As for holsters for the adapter and light, your best bet is KT-mech found here: kt-mech.com/m_akd/akd_HK_USP_45_7009.html They offer a wide variety of options for HK guys. I do wish safariland gave us more HK options, but we're a dying breed, especially in the DASA variety. Either way I hope this helps! Stay safe stay vigilant!
It really depends on what you value. I personally think HK is the best manufacturer of small arms and their durability and reliability is bar none. I would buy another one at 1k hands down if I needed it. However, it's still just a pistol and other brands such as Glock, CZ, FN, etc... offer similar guns with cheaper price. But like I said, it depends on what you really value.
tlr3 released in 2004? I was still in grade school playing bb guns. Its probably quite good for its time. The first Led flashlight I had was in 2007, and no where near as bright as a tlr3.
@@FrontierSetter yea these newer generation of lights have every detail shrieked, the screw, cap threads, thickness of material, even manage to squeeze larger battery into smaller package. tlr3 will do for now since you are the only one still carrying a usp😄
This is comforting to hear, thank you! Honestly, youtube is kind of a weird job and I can see why when people actually do this full time they go kinda crazy lol. Sometimes too much feedback is bad for the psyche. But I like doing it for the pure joy of it, at least for now. I'm just glad ya'll get enjoyment watching my awkward self talking to a camera :3
