Have both the TLR-8 and the TLR-8G. What I like most is there is No Step-down with the Lumens after the first 1-min or 1.5-mins as with the Olights. The TLRs also provide a little weight on the muzzle and that helps as well. For a compact combo the TLRs can’t be beat. The quick removal of the battery and quick lock-out is great as well and my laser does not drift, at all. Don’t forget, they produce 5,000 candela of blinding light as well.
Great video and review of the TLR-8AG. I'm looking to get one and this one is on the top of my list. Appreciate you letting us know your thoughts on it.
It's important to pick the right light. Red laser is good enough for pistol distance with contrast of background. Different light levels for indoors or outdoors without going "night blind". Strobe I can do with my finger so that doesn't matter. Power source being a battery is a huge plus. My olight just goes of like the Sopranino's with no warning. Then what? Stop the fight while I find an outlet and wait till charging is done? Or just slap an new battery in, better if I don't have to "disassemble anything". Next is holsters. With a light on your gun, it doesn't matter what kind of gun you have, just the size (full, compact, sub-compact or micro) the anchor of the Kydex is fitted to the light, not the gun. Change the gun (of same size), no problem. Change the light, buy a new holster. When you have that kydex holster made, have them add to it a battery holder so you always have a spare.
I don't understand, mine slipped on and I tightened it with the allen key. What gun are you using it on? Did you read the instructions about the spacer?
