Why did you not use the 4K cam link instead? It would be cheaper to record from the camera to the pc.

Awesome - I love the fact that you're entirely consumed by the search for ultimate efficiency. Anything that holds me up for even a second has to be removed... because that second is often all I need to talk myself out of the whole damn idea...

I've been thinking about creating a setup similer to this for livestreaming. I was considering going even more overboard and grabbing an old o1v so I can do all the audio manipulation outboard, as well as blend in other audio sources on the fly

Great video an explanation. I was thinking about using this same method with the Elgato 4K60 Pro MK.2 for Just camera capture. My question is what's the difference from using elgato cam link pro and OBS? which is $150 more. I'm trying to save $150 and I don't want to use just the cam link that's only $100 i want less latency as possible for a reasonable price.

I use a micro chord to 3.0 usb to transfer files. Just drag and drop.

Respectfully, if you are going to disallow comments on particular video, disparaging ones, you ought simply take down or re-title your "WHY I WILL NEVER BUY A SYNOLOGY AGAIN" piece to something more akin to "I SCREWED UP AND MADE A BAD DECISION". I suspect you will not because it generates revenue, and here I am on an unrelated video generating even more, but leaving it up in it's current state is either bad faith (provided you *truly* understand the problem now and implications of leaving the video up), or is simply ignorance. (Feel free to ignore this comment, but my was that a frustrating bit to stumble upon. TL:DR your charcterisation of Synology in that video is unfair given the video is about nothing more than bad luck, poor choices and a learning experience, the latter being debatable.)

I wonder what your bitrate limitation is also, maybe resolution+framerate dependent? I noticed without a signal, the Elgato had a max of 140Mbps on my system, but when I plugged in a FireTv at 2160p59, it changed to 105Mbps (still ok, though I definitely would have liked seeing the 140 or more)
