Welcome to channel My Amazing Homestead!
In this video, we demonstrate a highly effective method for rooting grape cuttings in water. The essence of this method lies in keeping the bottom part of the cuttings (approximately 1-1.5 cm) submerged in water continuously, eliminating the need to monitor water levels constantly. To achieve this, we utilized metal cans from olive jars and styrofoam sheets. Watch as we showcase the step-by-step process of setting up this simple yet efficient system for propagating grape cuttings, providing a hassle-free way to encourage root growth. Whether you're a beginner or experienced gardener, this technique offers convenience and success in propagating grapevines. Don't miss out on this innovative approach to water propagation!

Thanks for sharing. The grape vine is easy to root. I cut about 50 sticks and stick to the ground in shade area. There are 30 rooted after couple months.

What is used after the 24 hours. What’s in the metal can and the glass jar that you dipped in the sticks?

What he used is a rooting pill (can also use powders). He mix with water and dipped cuttings in to start em to develop roots. Now in can is liquid fertilizer/plant food as added booster to help with growing process. Made sel watering container and cut drain hole in bottom cans(this way with water in container plant able to soak up solution or if water from top excess water drain into container. Fill container with the rooting water solution. Wish way to add pic to reply so see how my grapes look

Thank you for your comment and visiting my channel. Grape cuttings are harvested in October-November, rooted in April, planted in open ground in May. In October-November, grown grape bushes are planted in a permanent place.

@@myamazinghomestead9774 Does this mean that you cut them off the parent plant in October and they sit until April before you do this process of propogating? The cuttings you are using here look green - if cut in October they would be very dry by April.

I would like to know do you choose a one year or two year old grapevine cutting to root?

Nice and liked, but, what is the pill and what were you dipping it in right before you dipped it in water toward the last? One was presumably rooting hormone, what was the other?

Thank you for commenting and visiting my channel. I'm glad you enjoyed the video. Yes, I used the growth stimulant Rhizopon. Also, for better rooting of grape cuttings, you can use honey, which is a natural stimulator of root growth.

@BornFreeFilms After they soaked in the rooting solution, he dipped the top of each cutting in plain wax to seal it. The can had the wax, and the jar was just cool water to harden the wax faster. I only know this from another video of his. So bottoms are soaked in rooting solution then tops are dipped in wax.

@@crimsonlu89 OK. Thanks for that info. I was wondering how you knew it was wax. (Good thing he's not making videos on how to build a barn.)

Seems rather difficult and long winded. Not sure about the tablet. Also I guess that there are small holes in the cans? Could be clearer

I appreciate your comment and visiting my channel. I'm very pleased that you enjoyed my video and found useful information in it. Throughout the entire rooting process, we only changed the water in the container once. Be sure to try this rooting method, and you will see its effectiveness.

Interesting video. . . a few missing steps, and unclear instructions: where did the bag of sticks come from? How old were they? Why did you soak the ends for 24 hours, and then re-dip them into a can of ? and then back into the root growth solution?
