No fancy instruments, amps, or effects.Just exquisite musicianship and timing. The people just walking by have no clue of the dedication it takes to reach such a level.
I love how Deep Purple transcends so many different cultures and countries. These Chileans have put some major dedication into performing this song and keeping it alive.
@@skiptowne5724santiago, chile, u can tell by the buses colors and taxis, since in regions cabs are yellow. But in santiago and cities are black with yellow roof
@@marccrossland785 I know right!! These guys are absolutely killing it and some nerd who escaped from the nurdery gonna comment about something when he can’t even change his own diaper.
To all the people who disliked this., You have no idea how much these guys practiced and how hard it is to pull that song off...It’s actually a thing of beauty.
I grew up with the Beatles, Zeppelin and Deep Purple and so many others. I'm a musician myself and a music junkie in general and for those who don't know, this is NOT an easy song to do and even harder to get a full seamless sound with only a three piece band AND sound big outside in the open air. These guys are good and they're very tight and they do real justice to this song. Plus, look at that little toy drum kit. It looks like a starter kit for a 10 year old kid yet that drummer makes it sound good. The guiatrist? Well, who the hell plays heavy metal or any electric guitar these days without 15 effects pedals and a huge Marshall amp. This guy had a guitar and a little 15 watt practice amp. That's all! He sounded fantastic. The base player? Perfect. He kept time like a quartz watch and didn't miss a note. These guys aren't some sloppy half assed garage band. These guys are the perfect example of what being a musician is all about. Their whole effort was about the song and in my opinion (and I'm picky as hell) they honored the music and did this song perfectly. They are true musicians even if they are playing in the street. If you're not a musician I can tell you that this was one very good, tight and sharp band. WOW! Damn good!
its not that hard to get a full sound with a 3 piece i have been doing it all my life.. the feed back they have is horrible.. heard of a noise gate guys.. but skill wise yeah there good.
It does suck but no one wants to hear horrible feedback from a busker.. i have been playing for 26 years and won best in the state when i was 16. And playing on the street means fa.. even if they are playing in the street. im a proffesional street performer and i have watched and meet some amaizing musicians. It's the best job in the world. And whats this shit about pedals guitarists have been using pedals since the 60s or even earlier all the great metal bands used effects. (Even hendrix did).
What a band!! Three guys - all heroes. That voice. The bass is right in the pocket. And the guitar is mind-blowing - the man is covering Blackmore and Lord. It honestly sounds like a 4-5 piece band. Bravo Chile!
@@wh8085 Me too!! That song brought me back way into the past... I think there was a crowd, but behind the camera. If you looked at the drivers in thee cars, they were recording the show and singing along...
This is the Grand Champion of all street musicians. All of it ...from the drivers driving by ...lookin out their windows ...to just a killer deep purple cover. Rock on ...
This cover of Highway Star totally rocks. They've got the pace nailed (no pun intended) and the solos have great feel. If you can sound like this on the street then you've really got something.
1 time a week for me, this makes me sing highway star out loud and makes me smile as big as I can without damaging my mouth, and I clap at the end every fvcking time.
This street performance damn near brings tears to my eyes that 3 musicians can sound so good with so little equipment. I'm convinced the drummer could be playing on cardboard boxes with a trash can lid and sound amazing. The bass and lead are incredible. This performance is the essence of pure, unadulterated musicianship. Tight, in the pocket, with forward motion. Can you imagine them at an arena with pro rock touring gear? I can and they deserve it!!! Excellent job!!!
It is NOT easy to sing and drum at the same time, much respect for the drummer (and making it sound great on such a basic kit). And incredible guitar playing. Awesome cover 🤘
@@erth2man not just the solo, but there were times playing chords when the guitar harmonics sounded more Hammond than Fender. It was awesome (and as for the solo, what a highway star!)
These people aren't in a hurry and jobs are really square. This is the division of people who show appreciation or see it with disgust as displayed in these other comments.
I’m listening to this again for I don’t know how many times. Dam, I wish I was there. Awesome awesome cover of the best band in the world, Deep Purple !
I came back after 2 years from my first comment...but now I am a musician too...guitar and drums. The pandemic has its advantages, and I used all those years since the lockdown to learn both instrument! AND I CAN SAY THAT THIS BAND, AFTER WATCHING THIS VIDEO, INSPIRED ME A LOT. They may not be famous like P.Jam, GNR, SABBATH or LED ZEPP AND THE PURPLES...but my Respect and Gratitude I offer them! 👍👍👍
This is stupidly good. Unreal for 3 people with tiny amps out on the street. Been a professional musician a long time, this is a difficult song for every instrument. Amazing
Deep Purple sucks😂😂😂this is fantastic cover...in the midle of city,trafic,people...guitar no pre amp? Can't belive how many sound...drumer fiks glasses 😂😂😂crazy...B R A V O! hi from Croatia man's in band👏👏❤
I've got it at number 3 behind Deep Purple live and Chickenfoot's version (Sammy Hagar, Joe Satriani, Chad Smith, Michael Anthony). Whenever I stumble on one of the videos, I always watch them all. :)
Gracias.
Yeah... they were incredible... Give me Deep Purple in concert with the Royal Philharmonica orchestra ...Listen/watch & be forever enthralled! It will never leave your brain... I promise!
Kick ass on a budget, and to think people believe they need top brand equipment just to sound good when really all they need is some talent. Just proves the operator is the magic not the high dollar equipment. Great job!
I come back often and watch this again and again. I share this link with friends to show them how much you can do if you have the talent - it doesn't matter what type of gear you have. Just awesome!
As you can tell, I come back to this video every now and then. I don't remember if I said how good this drummer is. Well anybody that can play Deep Purple on drums and sing it as well as he does ,is above a talented musician.
Hello Dave, ¿how are you?. My name is David, and i am the left handed one that appears in the video. This band was called "El Wurlitzer", and sadly is currently "out of the road". The good news is that maybe the band can reborn in a few months. I have some others videos in the band's channel, but the visual and sound quality is not the best jajaja. If for any reason you need more information, here is the FB page: elwurlitzer.musicaenvivo Thank you very much for your comments! greetings from Chile!
Amazing how i would have loved to be there to see this, the guy on guitar is a beast! Copies jon lord organ solo note for note and then takes on richie blackmores amazing solo, glover was never given enough credit on the bass and this guys nails it the drummer sings great and keeps the timing well like Ian Paice at brutal speed. Sign these guys up someone. Much love from the UK 🇬🇧
@@SDsailor7 Being a Huge Deep Purple Fan I really appreciate they put their hearts into it. Purple at that time just came out and kicked your ass. This band got that.
@@kurtsherrick2066 Yes i agree. There is a Genesis tribute band in Argentina and Steve Hackett has played with them in concert down there a couple of times. That should tell you something about the quality of musicians they have there. And like someone said in the comments. "Someone get them a record deal" to the trio that played the DP song.
I too am a musician and this is done very nicely in public with limited options for sound. That is why it is so good; the musicians here make up for it with perfect play and bliss.
Perhaps I've missed something but I've never seen street performers like this in England. Why can't we have guy's like this. A big purple fan and these guy's nailed it 🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸
❤❤❤ All three play great, real musicians! It is a pity that they play on the street and not for large audiences. Has no one noticed them to help them realize themselves in a large audience?
Yes, but the conditions and prestige are not up to par. Just street musicians. Perhaps they do not claim prestige, but are content with the street audience. It's a pity.. good musicians!!!
Now this, my friend, is real talent. I have never seen so much accomplished with so little equipment to work with. The original song has an organ. They don't even have that and yet the song is amazingly good. Does it sound like a high dollar studio production? No, of course not. But considering they are just a three piece band with nothing but cheap equipment to work with it's absolutely amazing. God bless you guys.
One of the best versions ever played....the Ion Lord solo played with the guitar is really a masterpiece....sigan tocando chavales, rock and roll will never die!
When you played your ass off for 5 people, but didn't know 4.5 million would actually be seeing it...priceless. They deserve the views. The drummer has a great rock voice and they kicked the crap out of it live with minimal equipment.
