Cats in Athens are, exactly as the classic says, “ancient and untouchable animals.” There are a lot of them and they are everywhere - in temples...in taverns...in shops...in parks...on the streets.
At first glance, they may appear to be homeless. This is not entirely true. The fact is that in warm countries, most cats exist in a status that can be defined as conditionally domestic or patronized.
If you look closely, you can see collars on many of them. Although these cats are free cats and do not live in an apartment with a person, they are treated and vaccinated.
And, of course, they feed. At every step you can find a cat restaurant like this, where the bowls are never empty.
