Testing the drivability of a big cam 6.0 with a 4600 stall in a 3070 pound s10. TH400 trans with 4.10 gears. Track results: • Ls Swap S10 with 4600 ...
Hey big dog this is grant. U probably don't remember me but we went to highschool together. Stumbled across your RU-vid page an man u turned the brown box into a blue missile. Nice build man. Hope to see it around some time
Stalls that lock up can be near unlimited, especially with a holley lock em up in 3rd and OD...this test REALLY needed a trans temp to mean very much, not engine.... T400 no lockup is a whole different animal than a 4l60/4L80( t400 w lockup lol ) where the trans will cool down..... Love the truck, can't wait for a new PB with it all the luck in the world!!!
That seemed pretty tight for 4500 too. I have a 3k stall on a 4k lbs truck but I have 5.13 and 33" tall tires. His 4500 rpm with commuter gears and a big rear tire make it more tame. That'd be a nightmare with 4.10+ R&P.
I’ve got a 6k stall in my 03 extended cab Silverado 0.30 6.0 h/c/I drive it all the time no issues still gets 13 mpg in town and 19-20mpg on the hwy, don’t understand why people are so scared of big stalls
Building my 98 ext cab not for strip but just for cruising .....I want put an ls in it....want a nasty sounding cam ...probably going have to buy a junkyard engine ....what should I look for and what all do I need make sure and get when I do purchase .....I have already tore all the interior out sanded all floor pans fixed one small rust issue ....and primed it all ....laid down 2 layers of heat mat and one layer of sound mat because I like car audio as well and I have it all installed.......but haven't done the interior because I want put floor shifter in it.......going run a metal 4in cowl ....and have already put 15 x 10s 265 70s on rear and 17 x 4 s on front ....want look mean but able to cruise with no issues ....thinking about a 5.3 what's your thoughts?
Thank you for the content. Was jw if you could help a noob out. I bought an 03 s10 needs motor / transmission. I want to turn it into a car meant for drag n drives. So reliable then horsepower. Would you recommend like a sbc or a ls for this?
@@LsBluu thanks dude. In the process of building a 92. In the process of a 9inch swap. Trans next and I figured I would probably have to overshoot on rated stall speed. Thanks for the content, I get alot if good info from it!
@LsBluuRacing- What 1/4 mile E.t., Mph, and 60ft does this run with the 3500 vs the 4600? Also do you know the elevation @ the dragstrip where you got your times? You said 430 rwhp, and 3070Lbs, is this weight with you in this S-10?
3070 lbs is with me in it at BeechBend Raceways scales. It’s been a best of 11.48 at 118.2 with a 1.66 60’ through the 3500. We’ll find out what the 4600 does soon.
@@LsBluu - Yes i seen that you ran that E.T. on leaded race gas, was it 110 octane? If so, that leaded race gas ruins O2 sensors, and is too much octane for a 10 to 1 NA engine. If you put new spark plugs in, and run Premium gas= 91, 92, or 93 octane, your S10 will run quicker E.T.s, as long as the DA is = or better, and track prep is good. Id ❤️ to see the time slip, if you do this.
@@LsBluu -It sounded so much cleaner/meaner, when you showed your S10 on 93 vs race gas. I can't wait till you get a chance to run again, but on 93. I will be eagerly awaiting.
It does appear to be driveable most do not understand how stall works. Suggest that stall is too high for your setup. Loosing some street manners and performance.
I drove it a little harder than normal, just to show how it acts for the video with some spirited driving. I think it is perfect for what my goals are.
