It's actually a common "catch wrestling" thing called "Test of Strength" It's often used at the start of the match to establish who the underdog or "bad guy" is. You lose the test of strength, you are telling the audience you're at a disadvantage in power. If you "cheat" at the test (like kicking them) it shows you're a bad guy. I actually like the little nods to pro wrestling Zangief has here
You know, i really love the fact that the devs would also go the way to even add some sound effects like footsteps, clothes stretch sound and breathings
One detail I haven't seen people point out: Their outfit and hair actually match the direction they're facing. You can't see it much here, since the outfits are different a lot of the time, but it's true! Most fighting games will simply mirror the character, Capcom went that extra step further and made their models adhere to the direction they're facing. It's awesome!
@@alvaro4996 There are some still. Vega switches his claw when he turns around (he actually turns away from the camera to do the switch) so his moves will look the same on both sides. If he appears in SF6 with still a single claw he'll be one of, if not the only character with a mirrored element.
@@LeeONardo This isn't so much because of a side swap issue, like the old 2D games, but rather the claw is an important visual indicator of ranges when it comes to his attacks. Considering his attack animations are mirrored, it's really important that his claw stays on the same hand.
Nice attention to detail… although I gotta say, Marisa looks so stupid holding her hands way above her head as her “battle ready” stance. Sure fighting game characters aren’t exactly practical when it comes to that, but that looks even dumber that just not having your hands guarding your face.
That would involve either maxing everyone's bonds in World Tour or spending money to save time. I assume the Uploader only did one of those for the characters they actually cared for. I maxed everyone's bonds, though, so I have all second costumes for free. 😁
