I'm actually going to disagree. I'm glad everyone else is in love with the art style so far but I 100% think it's a step in the wrong direction. The uncanny valley effect is weird but I also think they're plain ugly now. at the end of the day it's only the gameplay that really matters to me so I'll definitely still pick up my copy.

@@leonartha03 Darkstalkers isn't as popular as Street Fighter considering the first two games didn't sold well, as much as I love Darkstalkers, I don't see why they would want to take risks with this franchise again

I have people who have lots of trouble playing Street Fighter, so the existence of the Modern fighting style is the holy grail for me

@@toledochristianmatthew9919 First of all Dhalsim stretchy arms is a loose Jojo reference stated by the original devs. Now Luffy, i don't know One Piece behind the scenes info to know if his power was or wasnt influenced by Dhalsim. But stretching powers isnt a very unique power anyways... They exist in both western and japanese pop culture works.

@@purplekey9330 or an alternative way of looking at it is you have the base of Smash Bros (the competitive ruleset) but with added items and different modes to make it more casual. But sure you can make the argument that Smash isn’t a “traditional fighting game” which is why you’re so excited to see that variety come in a more traditional game.

They can finally have them because all characters have level 1, 2 and 3 supers so you can have still utility mixed with just damage

They could look better in terms of movements/attacks, but at the very least the graphical detail is freaking amazing all around. I just hope they don't fk up Gief's like they did in SFV, which was literally just a zoom-in of his face. He needs a super/CA that shows DAMAGE. He's a beast that throws people around like nothing, what a waste just showing only his face.

Ikr and I agree that it's great that they brought back Dhalsim's stage from SF2 and Blanka's stage which looks like a mix of SF2 and SF Alpha

His backstory is even more interesting and something I’d not expect for Ken. “Former US National Fighting Champ, and ex-VP of the Masters Foundation. Accusations of orchestrating a criminal plot have forced Ken to abandon his family and business and go into hiding.” I’m interested on what they accusing him of doing

On the SF6 website, it said Ken went into hiding after being accused of engaging in criminal activity, abandoning his family and company. Must be why he's so grungy.

Street fighter 5 was the way it was because Capcom was basically bankrupt at the time, the only reason we got a SF5 at all is because Sony funded it. The success of Monster Hunter World really saved Capcom.

@@jk844100 and Resident Evil series as well, 7 specifically since it led them to create the RE engine which they used in multiple games now with ease.

@@toledochristianmatthew9919 yes, RE7 was successful but MH has been raking in the cash for 4, nearly 5 now. It’s pretty much funded all of their recent projects which in turn have been successful. Really the only thing since 2017 that has flopped for Capcom was MvCi.

@james tiberius All old fgs already had the right ideas about single player content. It's the new devs that refuse to use them. Now there's this trend of cinematic story modes influencing all fgs and it's treated like a great idea - and it isn't. A modern game (since the 2010s), that uses tremendously superior technology than the ones in the 90s, is supposed to completely outdo the classic games including in these aspects. It's like: new fgs needed to finally do everything the old ones couldn't because of the hardware limitations. Like, SF 1-3 invented different ideas of fun bonus games, and Alpha brought ideas like dramatic battle, world tour, etc. That's an immense legacy of innovations given the technology of the time. New SFs don't make much effort to even match those games in this aspect. I'm not even asking for an innovative idea for now, but just bring back all those good ideas from the past as a first step.
