i love this theme so much. just feels so joyful. the remixed version they used for the street fighter 30th anniversary collection museum mode is always on loop for me when im either studying or working on the computer
If Sakura loses in her stage, her brother in the background will throw the controller and slap his legs in frustration. If Sakura wins, he does the Home Alone poster face.
There is only one game I remember clearly from my childhood; Street Fighter Alpha 2. Sakura's stage and Ken's stage and theme were just amazing. Man do I miss those days....
Her theme in this version of SF sounds so fresh and ethereal, it sounds like an opening for an anime where you get a glimpse of the vast nature from the distance while zooming into the heaven with sunshine and bright skies.
+DacDaMan710 The boy in the background is her brother I think his name is ikari or something I remember reading about it on the Internet somewhere in even says that she hates playing video games with him but yes it is ironic I always considered to be a nice touch on Capcom's half
the cool thing is that whether he wins or loses is based on the outcome of the round. so in a way, it's like he's playing the fight that's happening right in his backyard. Gamer Info! Wow! That is A.W.E.S.O.M.E. and Rule's my ASS off!
One of my favorite Alpha 2 themes. Such a golden game, such charisma and vibrance. It looks and is fun. I would love to rearrange this with all organic instruments. Live horns etc would make this sound so tough.
Aolani Mistarka Hell yes and hell no. Hell yes because it was a time for playing NES, SNES, Game Boy, Sega Genesis, and N64. And it was a time for watching Nickelodeon, Toon Disney, Fox Kids, Kids WB, and Disney's 1 Saturday Morning. Even toys we played with back then kicked ass. and reading cool magazines and comic books, WHAT A LIFE. Hell no because life wasn't ALWAYS fun and games. there have been a couple chapters of my 90's life as a little kid in which life was a boring hell, having to put up with Kindergarten which was a pain at times, and having to sometimes wear button up shirts with the top button that practically chokes you. Having to be trapped in a living room by a baby gate. Having no video games to play, And having to get up every single Sunday morning to go to church which was a serious nightmare(except for Sunday school, which wasn't too bad). Thankfully in 1997 those crummy chapters of my life were slowly coming to an end. I still had to put up with church though.
me too ,I got three reasons actually. -SFA story is set between SFI & SFII. -Capcom is no more doing 2D games since 2k4. - I am missing my old PS1 ;( ,it was like a brother.
i rememebr i had this game on sega saturn...this theme is eternal 2 decades later. my fav themes from this one are 1. Sakura (easily) 2. charlie ( capcom esk) 3.Adon/Rose (both just awesome in there own right) 4.ryu/zangief (tough call) 5.rolento (and not the one on this list)
UNDFTDGordon I always felt the golden age was SF2 (series) arcade music. Reason being; the golden age of comics are often refereed to the 30s-early 50s. By definition, the golden age of something is usually where great things were initially accomplished for an established genre (that first peak). Thats not to say the golden age is the best by default (i think some misuse this term by mistake). Those original 12 tunes were legendary, and still cannot be outdone in some respects, even to this day. (The 60's is when marvel flourished for example). And my personal favorite genre of comics where the lat 80s/early 90s. Back on Topic: I do agree that the music back then was great; SF2, Alpha, and Sf3. And each era had its own unique stamp. Sf2 laying the foundation, alpha brought warmth and enegry... 3 brought originality subtlety, and some awesome jazz/hiphop remixes. Even though i still enjoy some music from 4 (including the remixes of the original 12 golden tracks) For some reason, they just cant capture that magic anymore. BTW: Ryu is usually my favorite theme; but when it come to alpha...charlie's original arcade theme is right up there too.The sakura theme is among my favorite in the alpha series.
in my opinion video game music reached its peak in the 90s.. The music now doesnt really have that video game sound, it just sounds like regular music..
They do. They give off a more mature self reflecting vibe whereas back then she was just was just a school girl with a crush and a hobby. Now shes thinking about what comes after.
Well Its like this. I love the 16 bit era and theres no denying the 90s were the golden age of video games. But the 128 bit era with Dreamcast, Playstation 2, GameCube, and begrudgingly the soulless XBox was great too. Just great games from that era. Its this current generation that doesn't really do anything for me. Their so focused on the graphics they've forgotten what made videogames fun in the first place. I like the Wii though.
