I was about 6 and remember after a year of playing I would take my dad down to the wire on so many fights. I'm now his age and realise a little kids reflexes are quicker...
43 here. Played sf2 since it came out and still play it till this day. I remember being the best at where I was Northern California, and I taught a lot of people how to do special moves. I remember I was so good that it got boring beating everyone. My win percentage was light 98%. Anyways, we held a tournament but I had stop playing for awhile so I lose the edge and a lot of people got really good. One person in particular I remember didn’t know anything and he was one of the person I had taught and he ended up winning the tournament. I did alright, won some gear and a sf duffle bag. Miss those days.
Guile's theme gave me chills up the back of my head and neck. You didn't hold back in emphasising the main melodies and that's what people want. Thank you.
What a game, what a score! The chars are all so dope and I love their stages. Like Guiles fighting on the runway at the air base he works at in front of an F-16! Just says so much about who Guile is as a person. Same for all the chars and stages.
I was 5 years old when I got my SNES including "SF2 - the world warrior" in 1993 and me my best friend tried everything to unlock the 4 other characters.. Our last and final try included beating the game without getting any damage at all which we succeded after a million tries. We were so happy and really thought we finally made it. biggest disappointment in my life at that time :D
No damage must have been hell. I had a similar disappointment with Mortal Kombat II for the snes, I won 250 matches in a row hoping to play Pong like in the arcade, but it wasn't included in the snes version...:(
It was sooooooooooooo gooooooood! omg! I love the original themes, it passed so fast! I definitely wouldn't mind if it was 30 minutes long or more. Amazing!
2:31 *This Band:* Plays Japan's official American National anthem. *Audience:* _"For reasons unknown, let's all show a lack of respect and not stand."_ 😠
Best songs of SF2. I say its between ken and guile. Never loved ryu's song. The balrog brings a lot of nostalgia as its scene was at the golden nugget :). Oh the 90s.
Crazy how Ken and Guile do exhibit huge aspects of American life. Rock and rebellion and then that all American militant pride. Where Guiles theme represents the Valor, Kens represents the the sheer intensity n power.
I am Japanese. I can't speak English well. I cried when I remembered my late father. My father liked Street Fighter 2. Of course I like it too. Thank you.
Love Ryu's ending.......The tournament means nothing.....The fight is everything!.......Walks away from his gold medal place on the podium.......Reminds me of Bruce Lee, " Belts are only good for holding up your pants".
Inserts coin. Machine fails to start. Repeatedly pressing the coin release button. Kicking the machine hoping the coin would drop. Leaving the store feeling disgruntled. Ah, memories.
Reading all these comments show us the power of music. Different places around the world and everybody shares the same feelings.. Greetings from Brazil :)
This amazing masterpiece of a soundtrack was composed by a woman: Yoko Shinomura, not due to any gender quota, but thanks to her immense talent. That's how the world used to work back in those days, before everything started falling apart.
That music surprised me the most when I heard it in this live compilation.I no “Street Fighter” and it’s not my kinda game,But I respect it as a Legend of gaming History and had no idea about the music🤗being so good and diverse
I think that is the main reason I like the original sf games. I don't think most of the newer ones change music tone and speed when your health gets low giving a sense of urgency.
Covid and the lockdowns got me thinking about how thankful I should be to have experienced arcade shops in their heyday. Nothing like the sound of coins and fighting sounds from the arcade machines as people crowded around you and the guy you were playing against to see who would win.
Seriously the best Balrog theme I have ever heard. Those two girls are extremely talented musicians. Congrats to everyone involved in producing this masterpiece of cover.
because he was the first surprise boss and he resembled mike tyson fighting out of LAS VEGAS. golden nugget is in old downtown vegas. happy memories of finding new characters to fight and even use. BALROG. we share your emotion
Uh... my father destroyed my console for staying up late to beat the game with every character. He didn't give me an instrument but some ass whooping. 🤣
I was 11 when this came out..my friend had a snes we played for hrs..about 6 friends...we ran home sooo excited never experienced anything like it...none of us could beat vega...still gaming to his day
Ken, Ryu then Guile has the best musical theme when it comes to SF. These are kind of music you wanted to listen when you're outside/outdoor training. HADOKEN!!SHORYU KEN!!!
06:28 why did u make me cryy!!!!!! damnnn. i was just waiting for his fight melody but for musicians and all of us he is the CHAMP... and we heared this "ending" melody more : ) i m so happy now.. so much..
no existe mejor momento para estar vivo, con 35 años actualmente pero aun disfruto de estas canciones. que obra de arte este juego desde el diseño la jugabilidad y ni se diga la musica. god bless japan.
Street Fighter II on CPS 1 is the best. If someone tells doesn't like orquestra just show this video. I fell proud having these superheroes and arts images and sounds on my memory and in my heart.
6:29 aquí se pusieron los pelos de punta. Toda mi infancia se me apareció de repente. Todos esos momentos cuando iba a jugar, el ruido de las demás máquinas, los demás niños en uniforme escolar.. Lindos recuerdos.
balrog stage music was spot on. then again, all musics were really good. Shimomura san would be mighty proud listening to her own songs, being played magnificently.
