Holy Shit! This is defintely one of my favorite versions of Street Fighter. And Ryu has the best (And most powerful super in the game "Shin Shouryuu Ken"). Damn, I wish I could play like that. :o)
oh by tha way,i tested it out some Ryu's combos are that really works on arcade version in few weeks ago. some other combos are hard to pull off that really needs to work on it to play in different way around to success.
How fast do you need to input the motions in SF3 OE compared to SSF4? I can do almost every Ryu combo in SSF4, but seems to have a lot of trouble even with the easiest combos in SF3 OE with Ryu.
the song: "zenith" by cj bolland. you'll probably also love "tower of naphtali," "obsidian," and "con spirito" and probably most of the album "electronic highway" which this song comes from. also check out the albums "4th sign" and "analogue theatre" from the same artist. and why don't these kinds of videos ever specify that they change the system direction? crazy combos but...
Ryu's awesome. It's kinda funny how people always pronounce his name wrong though. People think it's pronounced the way it looks, like rai-you,but it's actually pronounced ree-you. I love his combos
When you do enough hits in a single combo, you dizzy the other character. That's what the red meter that fills up and says "stun" is for when it's full. They can't block, parry, or attack until they recover from it, hence if you keep hitting them after dizzying them, the combo counts as one long combo.
8I First. I raise my hat for you. You did a nice opening for this video. Second. I will never challenge you on the Street Fighter match. I'm not stupid. :D
Dude, if you can actually do this stuff, then you are a SF GOD. You're freakin' incredible. And if you didn't do this, then you have insane programming skills. Either way, you're good.
My thing with sf4 is that its fun casually, but characters like sagat are practically guaranteed to win with nothing but spam at almost any level but the tournament level. He seriously ruined that game for me. My only other problem is that its just so incredibly basic, it gets boring after a while. Games like blazblue and guilty gear have much more versatility and mechanics to master , leading to a much more unique experience every fight.
a good notation would be that the super cancels were turned on and these combos would of been near impossible on the regular dreamcast controller lol. I never brought the joystick cuz i was cheap but love whoopin' with ryu new dragon punch super
Normal remains as it was in the arcade and as it should. With original, you can screw around with it, like make all super arts available and being able to cancel all moves and such. Even making EX moves free, without any of the super bar gone.
My Guess would be that the guy is doing it in VS mode with the handicap altered so that he starts with less life. The handicap will make you start with less life instead of increasing or decreasing the damage ratio on your character.
An appreciation of fighting games. But whatever, it always comes down to opinion, but with fighters that I find to be much more in depth that SF4's mechanics, I have little motivation to play it.
@kenmastersmaster First of, most of these comps i did em.....the idea is not to 100% copy them, cause some of them are impossible (TRUE). that doesnt mean it most of em are very doable... if u didnt know how to pull em then that doesnt mean that other cant. seconldy, Diago...ur talkin shit bout him? will if u got known like him then i guess u can trash talk...but beside that he's a world champ, are you dude?
Yeah, I'm just gonna wait until they inevitably make a 2.0 version of some sort just like they've done with all the other main games. When they do it I hope they let the ppl choose who we want from 3rd strike (if they even do that) cuz knnowing how capcom is, they would put sean in(the crappy version) instead of makoto, or something else retarded. though I would like to see Dudely as an added character, so Balrog can finally have a rival.
haha yea i c it already - super street fighter 4 The new generation. with four sf3 characters - makoto, alex, urien, yang, yun, hugo or ibuki(i cant choose 4 lol). ph yea another insult to sf3?? Seth, a freeking rip off of gill/urien. He has the same dwn HK and dwn HP animation, same shoulder tackle as urien. when i first saw that dude i was disgusted. but yes all in all sf4 is quite fun to play regardless. all the lame DOA players trying to jump on sf4 and cant buy a win.
what can I say? thats how most game companies are, focused on business and profit. I'll admit though, Sf4 is still enjoyable though once I forget about how they completely left out 3rd strike. I'm not gonna buy the game yet though, cuz I know capcom by now, and I'm already hearing that they might make a championship edition of SF4. Odds are that they;re gonna make at least one or two revisions of SF4 just to get more money but on that note, they may add more ppl(maybe SF3 ppl!)
Sf4 isn't as good as tird strike system wise. Because too many ppl complained that they couldn't spam fireballs easiy anymore, they made it where the focus attack will work like a parry, but your health has to regenerate and can still be taken away if your it before you heal. basically capcom decided to cater to the 40 something year old guys that still obsess over the "good old" street fighter
not all of them. i made least 9 "perfect" combos succesfully on my xbox 360 that i just know for awhile. not like this video you seeing right now,i figured it out that how i added more number of hits combos than the video. somehow in different ways to hard to pull off in few other ways around on Arcade version which it means it don't work on console version. cuz home console's controller and local area's arcade version are have "different optional-settings" that feels comfortable/uncomfortable.
neither as same control plays on regular consoles. but different "adjustment optional test settings" between stick and buttons tha ways how people feels comfortable as speed skills in arcade. not bout tha game. when i played tha arcade version,it was lil bit difficult than standard console's joystick. arcade's stick has 8-ways cut edge points octagon shaped. console's has clean 360 degree circle shaped. i preferring tha console was betta. betta for me to stick with a standard controller instead.
go buy one for ps2 or original xbox version for 20 bucks if u looking for "street fighter aniversary collection" title of dvd case at yo local ebgames or gamestop stores. i recommended to you all to get for "XBOX version" cuz greatest online play of all time..."NO LAGS",plus you can allow to play 3rd Strike on 360's online also cuz it have backward compataible has been updated since last year! sorry,no online play for ps2 version if u guys dont have xbox/360.
@ZaCTHERippeR199o SFxT- i believed is gonna be around least 35 on the rosters. i rumored about that they might added up to least "120 characters" from previous fighting game series as DLC. so let us keep crossing our fingers for that one. :) SF3-it's tha same from previoius game but u go unlock special character,Gill when you preordered it.
THATS BECAUSE YOU WILL NEVER SEE THESE COMBOS DONE AT HIGH LEVEL. THEY ARE IMPOSSIBLE HOW MANY TIMES DO I HAVE TO SAY IT? All these combos are with programmable pads meaning. These moves , dashes , jumps and etc execute and come out on the exact frames and timing they need to. No human can in any possible way shape or form could do these combos.
For me, third strike is better because fireballs are way less powerful, this alone makes the game more fun to play online with less spammers, also if they keep throwing fireballs u can just parry them in sf4 ur stuck when ppl spam, its either focus through it and get countered, or block and take chip damage, or even jump over it and get dragon punched
mvc2 is the only impossible game to find since they discontinued it i was misfortunate enough to have mine stolen :( but sf3 is not as hard to find. sure gamestop will most likely not have em but there are stores out there that do, you just gotta look. they most likely will even have mvc2.. but it'll be damn expensive
why's dfoulplay being thumbs-downed? no, it's not a 180 hadoken (ie, yoga flame). they took out his normal command fire hadoken in SFIII. to do his fire hadoken, you have to do an ex hadoken (eg, a hadoken with two punches at the same time). but yeah, why's he being thumbs-downed o_o? he was just trying to be helpful.
Different hadokens? You mean the electric ones and the red ones? Well the red ones are his EX hadous which are 2 hit instead of 1 hit like the original hadous, so they are obviously stronger. As for the electric one, that's his 3rd super art, Denjin hadouken, which can be charged up and when hitting the enemy, it builds up their Stun gauge.
if ur refering to how they bounce off the walls with the "donkey" kick that ryu does.. it IS 3rd strike.. only off of EX-kick tho its one of the few moves that make the opponent bounce allowing you to connect another combo most of these combos are only off of stuns
i preferred to play on home console better cuz more free time on practice mode than spending multi-quarters for hours n tired of standing up all day. great news,i'm developin a new video of Ryu's new insane combos part 2 that better than this currently video. so stay tuned.
When will people realize that the point of these are to show the game pushed to its absolute limit? It's like calling the 2 minute tool-assisted speedruns of Zelda pointless to watch because you can't execute them with your fingers. The point is that they're fun to watch.
Fail in the real match your enemy don't get stun from a single hit, that mean you can't chain normal attack with normal attack without they recover from it.
is this real or fake ??? i mean chets or what i wanna know if its real without cheats its AWESOME or else it is awesome again but not that much PLS TELL ME !
Many fans are dissapointed at the fact that Capcom has abandoned the traditional 2D sprites in favor of some bulbous-looking 3D character models. And that it may affect the overall feel of Street Fighter. Which why everyone hates SFIV right now.
They're just joking. I think it's clear to anyone who has even a bit of knowledge of the game, that these combos are purely for entertainment/exhibition.
When I see videos like this I'll never understand shoto hate. Ryu is awesome in all his incarnations. looking forward to becoming a real Student of the game when third strike online edition comes out the 23. Shotos FTW
Theyre called "combos" for a reason, once you're hit you cant parry the rest of them. aka, you miss one parry, or get punished one time, and it can happen to you regardless of what you and your uncle think.
i got a 52 hit with ryu by just using his ex hadouken with the shinkuu hadouken. i made my dummy by the wall and step backed to the other wall and kept timing the 7 hit hadouken and timing the shinkuu hadouken.
@ZaCTHERippeR1990 yes,it's worth it. the best game of all time...even betta than SSF4AE. cuz it has more better features and combo missions than original modes in previous games which doesnt have.
they really aren't. You will more than likely never see anyone top level player doing these against another top level player in a serious match. not that many top level players seriously use Ryu.
@MonoVoyager cool thanks, didnt know this was a bolland track, ive been searching for a cj bolland track for years, maybe you can help me its called "everybody is a star"
Nasty bits of combos there.. Looking forward to playing 3S. But, SSF4 will hold me for now.. (True SF fans know how to work around differences and enjoy each installment.)
They are real combos. Pay attention to the stun meter. He doesn't even give them a chance to recover because he hits them the second they get up from a knock down.
@blueblaze8000 No, it's funny because I already said that 1) These combos are impractical to use in a real match, and 2) This video was out almost 5 years ago.
You're kinda missing the point of this combo video. It's not meant to be practical. It's meant to show the limits and the possibilities of the 3s combo engine.
@BrokeGamerJD theres a point in using it, yeah... do you get worked up about every word that comes out of your mouth? noo... so thats not at all what i meant and your argument is invalid. and it doesnt offend anybody i know and i dont use it for that reason. if i really wanted to insult somebody, i would say something more elaborate than "the n word", and it wouldnt have anything to do with race. honestly...
@patrickh92able You're wrong. What makes you think the copyright on the arcade ROMs have expired? In fact, they'll still be in effect for another 30 years or so. As long as they're in effect, downloading those ROMs is illegal in every country that signed the 1886 Berne Convention, which includes the USA, Canada, and every country in Europe. You get an F for your dismal research.
@blokeroy i got both but thats just like saying its illegal to Make a MUGEN game since there was already a Marvel vs Capcom for ps2 and crap. and once again from arcade to psx roms are not illegal, higher gen roms are illegal by law or else i would not have them. and was GGPO ever a console? no its a online emulator. you can think what you think but ive done my homework before hand. :)
@albericosa Now you sir know how to formulate a brainy response. Clearly your mastery of higher level thinking is so far above the rest of us that we should all fall silent. I mean.. who else has ever thought to replace rational thought with simply calling people fags. NO ONE! You sir truly innovate in the realm of senseless and pointless insult. God save you sir and all those like you online.. who truly advance our culture and remind the rest of the world what it means to be american.
It's funny how people cannot realize those combos aren't even applicable in a real match. The combos were amazing, but this guy spent hours planning this combos on a programmable joystick (tool-assisted) and to be able to do this you have to match certain circumstances, like perfect positioning, like your opponent hitting you back for you to recover faster than a super art, being witha full bar of super arts, etc.
@cegolau Reality is that even back in the early days of sf2 characters had dizzy to redizzy combos.. reality is that killing combos are a staple of countless fighting games and that the majority of higher level players actually prefer those types of games. Your suggestion to someone below that "anyone can do those" is the classic mantra of a scrub who can't do them but instead rages as his opponents beat his ass. You say everything about your skill level without trying.
@cegolau Perhaps I just play fighting games at a high enough level to enjoy killing combos. Perhaps I find them an awesome dynamic that teaches actual defense and forces you to use the parry system to it's fullest. Further.. perhaps I've actually watched thousands of third strike matches and played thousands myself.. and so I know how the game actually plays out. You clearly have not. Your rampant insulting of people you don't know states much about you.
Sorry for the fans, but any game that allows a combo capable of depleting a full life gauge its just stupid. Programmers that let that happen are lazy and incompetent (they developed the ridiculous buffering damage to compensate these combos, instead of studying how to make a game without them). And these combos are not special, because ANYONE CAN REPRODUCE THEM with training, yes. Unfortunately, Street Fighter zero/alpha 3 with A-ISM gauge is the last of the series that deserves any respect.
Pretty. Kudos for the time and effort in nailing down these combos. However, Shoto's are the bread and butter of all Street Fighter games, and when you've seen one amazing shoto combo, you've seen them all. There should be more variety in SF videos that show off epic combos with other characters such as Dudley, Makoto, Oro or Alex... Characters that take a little more skill to perfect. :)
everytime i see combo videos its always the same thing, its so much more harder to pull off any of these combos in actual fights or tournaments. the computer is always doing nothing or in training mode. im not bagging on these people, i give them props for what they can do. i cant do some of the combos this person does, but once i see it in real fights or tournaments , then i will be impressed. peace!
this is pretty much how you pay tekken. tekken is based on hitting juggles, you hit the opponent into a possition where they cant block and then unleash huge combos to deal half + of health bar damage. this is pretty much the same sort of thing. i never played sf3 but im starting to respect 2d fighters a litel more these days, though glad to see that this juggle engine isnt in the othe sf games.
Very true. Every character you go up against online is KEN!!! Seriously man, 7 out of 10 battles are Ken. And the fighters aren't balanced. All you will see is Ken's Dragon Punch. I do enjoy the game, but I think you are right the more I think about it. They have really taken SF4 and made it a little more simple for the casual crowd. I just really miss the fun of older games. New games seems so lifeless and devoid of emotion. I have a PS3 and a 360. But I have been playing SFA2 on my Saturn.
Well, to be honest I thought about it. 3rd Strike in terms of Combat, is probably the best SF. Also, the graphic style is great. To me, it's kind of the peak of true 2D fighting. I love the game, I love the look, the feel. My biggest complaint are the characters. I just wish there was more of the old roster. My how I miss this game. I'm going to have to order on Ebay within the next few days. SF4 is good as well.
well... these aren't exactly the most practical combos. If u knew how 3rd strike's mechanics worked, u can see that he had to setup the other character and cancel ryu with some sort of an attack (then he'd move into the wall where the combos can only be performed). Plus whenever the character is stunned (u can set the opponents stun to 100% in training options), that's the only time you can dish out more than 2 hit juggles. If anything, this game was pretty balanced.
i would say SF4 is more SF2 than 3 especially with the gameplay from SF2 allowing anyone to spam moves that are cheap like the hadoken spam. SF3 adds more skill and technical style while SF4, which is basically SF2 remade, lets people cheaply win especially in ranked matches where people do it the most. There is skill to be discovered in SF4 but barely anyone tries to bring out the true skill of the game
ah i see what you where trying to say. ok my bad your totally right akuma is a devastating chain fighter unlike ken who cant really back up his hits with power or ryu who has opponents blown back making it hard to pick up a combo without dashing up to him or putting him in the edge of the screen...i honestly thought you meant to say that akuma was the best of all three in general lol
i dont care what u have to say or how much damage they want to do..its just the same stupid things he does over and over..there is nothing "spectacular" about them..as far as i am concerned they are pretty boring and pathetic..some stupid fireball and then just hitting people as they bounce around the screen? its just plain dumb and stupid..especially when the combo continues when u are stunned..thats not even a combo cause u stop and then continue again..its just plain stupid
Yeah, I wish they had parries in SF4. Focus attacks are ok, but you can't do them in very rapid succession, they can be armor crashed and the whole nine.
@AstralVid It's not fake; it's training mode. If someone happened to be near stun and you're able to pull off these combos, then it's viable, though not recommended. Anyway, that's not really the point of combo videos much of the time. Most combo vids just show off; there's usually many better ways to use meter in a real fight than a fancy 30-hit combo.
@darcklad Get the game for free by downloading gppo emulator and downloading the SF3 rom and you can play online with thousands of ppl all across the world. there are 2 files you have to download tho sfiii. and sfiiin. just put those in the rom folder and walaw. its the easiest emulator to work cuz you dont need to download any missing files, just the roms.
@kenmastersmaster uhm..dude youve been at this for like a month...isnt that enough? you hate the game alright we get it but hating it over the internet dosent do much im not trying to say your wrong cuz its just your oppinion or anything like that but im pretty sure there are some people that dont spam.
