Join us on a trip to Epe market in Lagos Nigeria, where we tried street food known as BOLI (roast plantain) with peanuts. We also bought in season the very unique fruit called Agbalumo in Yoruba, and African star apple in English this fruit is said to have various health benefits. We explored the market and we did some price conversions to emphasise the fact that prices are much cheaper in Nigeria than other places we have lived.

Greetings Filsane, don’t worry Epe is waiting for you and might be your local market sooner than you think. “I deh get there small small “ but I need to learn Yoruba, or more pidgin English.

Boli and groundnut is a traditional snacks one can think of having in this part of the world...always filling with a bottle of water.😊I love it softer and sweeter too...though one can also have it with palm oil, porridge beans and also with fish(salivating already)😊😊😊

Can the plantains be roasted in the oven? Or only over charcoal for the best flavor.
@TundeOgundipe
@TundeOgundipe 4 месяца назад
I think charcoal gives it a more natural flavour, I think of roasting a bush meat in a jungle/camp kind of thing. Neverthe less, I am sure you can roast in the oven too.

Thanks for your comment. It can definitely be roasted in the oven but there is something about the charcoal it adds a little bit of something to it
