yes and also when you see someone not caring about food bits or sauce dropped on to their laps and keeps eating without a care in the world, you know you're looking at a real foodie (Mark and Anthony Bourdain comes to mind).
Some still think Mark not being honest with his food reviews. If you watched Mark's videos long enough you will know how he review the foods. If he likes it he will say it and express it through his facial reaction but if he don't like it or the foods didn't meets his expectations he just say few words and never said bad things nor ranting about it.
@ NCJ which video was that? Or where? Or which restaurant? He did mention earlier in this video that the tuna sashimi at the first place wasn’t the freshest. That was actually the first negative thing I’ve ever heard him say about anything he’s eaten.
Very good work! The meat pie thing is called Mennchi-Katsu (メンチカツ), deep fried patties of seasoned minced beef mixed with shredded cabbage or mashed potato. The similar fried thing will be there called Korokke (コロッケ), mashed potato based croquette. They are very popular in Japan, sold at both butcher's and streets, freshly fried in front of your eyes. The small fish is Shishamo (ししゃも). You can grill or deep fry, and as you did, you can eat them whole and everything. Hope they were female for they taste better with their eggs!
Thanks for all the information. I love Mark’s videos but sometimes find a lack of background info on the food he’s eating and would like more. But he eats many things in the spots so it’s probably hard to give info on every thing.
Mark! You are No.1 TV presenter. I watched so many of your videos. You save me lots of time hunting for food when travelling around the world. Thank you!
AMEYOKO :) it's where AMErican GIs sold black market stuff after WWII. AME also means candy in Japanese and it's a place where you can find -- candy, but the American history part is most accurate I think. Glad you enjoyed it! john
Lol i love his passion for food...but omg! Where does it all go to? He is soooooo petite! And he eats all day...i cant do that lmao! I'll be full already with one of those sushi or sashimi bowls.
I love seeing the faces of the chefs when they watch the tourists eat their food. They enjoy watching us enjoy their food! I am going to Tokyo next week! Yay I can't wait! I will try and visit all these places.
Mark, I am addicted to your fun videos! Your enthusiasm and positive energy are such a pleasure to watch! And I love what an adventurous eater you are! Keep it coming!!
Neither. Wait. I eat Mexican, Chinese and Japanese. But I believe that they are Americanized. So if your asking if I've eaten ethnic food. Then no.....lol....
That's one reason I why I haven't tried sushi. I'm afraid of the taste. Maybe I'll give it a try. My daughter loves sushi. She's out with our church group every Thursday! After church they go to a sushi place. You both are braver than I am. Thanks!
of all the food blogers mark i think you are the most down to earth ,most patience, humble and kind hearted.i like you so much mark because you are not pretentious .
As much as your eyes creep me out, I do love the content. Keep doing what you're doing Mark. You're creating great videos for future generations to see.

Mark your visit is my experience looking Japanese culture and Japanese food such a complete information about Japan thank you mark I hope you will enjoy this visit.
That's insane, I have feeling that Mark is so excited about every meal. He always find everything tasty, I'm sure he would grin from an ear to another eating a piece of plastic.
I felt like I was transported to Japan and experienced all of the different foods. Great video including the people you spoke with. It is really good to see how you communicate when ordering food in a foreign country.
Greetings from Belfast, Northern Ireland! LOVING all your videos and all the mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm sounds! I feel hungry every time I see the videos. Your website is fab. :) I am an artist and have just drawn Tokyo for a client :)
Mark, I happy for you having Ying in your life and the way you show also your affection to her. Keep producing your video and will never stop following.
Hi Mark! Can you do a video eating the Carolina reaper, would love to see how hot it is for you! Congrats on 1M you and yin deserve it! Love your videos!
yeah baby Instead of wasting time watching cat videos and eating Tide pods, read a news article once in a while, bub. People in Haiti are indeed eating sand cookies. news.nationalgeographic.com/news/2008/01/080130-AP-haiti-eatin_2.html
Mark, thanks for putting these videos together. I'm headed to Tokyo and Manila next week for a total of 11 days and I've found your videos useful for both locations. I'll report back when I return!
Great Video Mark. I like it that you put the price with the number of people that are eating this time. It really helps to know what it cost per individual. Keep up the great videos!!
Not everyone can handle the “wasabi” but unlike the other people Mark enjoys every food he eats not matter what kinds of difference in culture or what kinds of place he’s in.
That is a nice Japanese street food area with those nice varieties of quick foods in Tokyo. If I visit Tokyo in the years to come, I will stay in a hotel near that area. Then, I will go there to eat and never feel hungry after a whole day of eating those types of nice street foods. Nice video.
Clifford Smart he makes youtube videos, has done for quite a long time. I am sure she knew that he does this before getting married. What do you expect him to do? He makes food videos!
Turban shell = Sazae (サザエ), which is also the name of the decades-long popular cartoon called "Sazae-San" in which all the family members of the show are named after seafood.
Before you leave Tokyo, please visit a Matsuya and GoGo Curry. These are my absolute favorite chain restaurants in Japan, and you won't be disappointed.
