Dude, I got curious and did a search on street hoops to see if anyone was doing this!!! Holy crap man way to go. My daughter and I do this every thursday. We use six to seven balls and her high is like 362. No one ever beats her. My high is 282! I could not beleive you had like 242 by the end of your second round. My daughter and I have been wondering what the ceiling might be on this game. We were thinking like 380. You have crushed that!!! Thanks for the vision and inspiration!!
That's me in this video. To answer your question Saad, I've been shooting a little over 300 points using 4 balls. These days, the company reduced the balls to 4 in each machine. Trying only 4 balls, I get a little more than 300. It's a lot more fun when you can use 6 though. Your shooting flows better with 6, while you have to wait for balls to come down the machine before you can shoot if you have only 4.
Hey Freshtxt, this is the "Street Hoops" basketball Guy. That was entertaining to watch. Since the video was shot, I have increased my high score by about 10 over what was it at the time, on the very same machine. Keep an eye out here from time to time, as I may post a video response in the near future.
With 4 balls, I can score 300+. When you reach this level, you really need more balls to be able to maximize your scoring potential. For me, 6 is the sweetspot number of balls to use. Any more and it gets too crowded grabbing them. I agree, it's really not cheating. After all, these Street Hoops machines used to have 6 balls each when I first started playing them a couple of years ago. And 460 was my high with 6 balls and can consistently hit 380-400 with 5.
For the machine I play in Hong Kong, which is similar to that of the video but different in time length (with 4 stages, 60s-50s-40s-30s and last 20s as 3-point shot), I can score 480-530 on average with 4 balls and my highest with 4 balls is 601.
@RyaZila24 Yes, that's right. I'm playing with six balls in the video. That's the number of balls these Street Hoops games had at all the locations when I first started playing. Recently, for some reason, they all cut the number of balls down to only four at each game. Someone told me they did this to make it easier to track the balls, and that balls were being "taken" out of the facility. Do you play, and where?
It is not a type of cheating for people using more balls. And to be honest, I think using 4 balls should reach about 270+ (1 shot per second). I don't know whether the type of machine I play is similar to that in the video, but I think the final score should be about 475 and 540 for using 6 and 7 balls respectively.
I think this machine is not the same as I play in Hong Kong in terms of time length. But if the score is converted to what I play in Hong Kong, he can score about 720 with 6 balls, which is good already.
@nuscyg I've played a couple of times and recorded myself playing but with 4 balls at a chuck e cheese, next time I pass by I'll try to play with 6 balls and record myself
@jjcoachusa My ceiling these days is 430-440 using six balls. I managed to get 460 once and a couple of 450's on a machine that had well-used and tacky balls, and didn't bounce around too much after falling through the basket. Keep your eyes on the basket, and grab the basketballs by feel only. Your daughter is pretty good. Not many people I've seen get over 300 on Street Hoops. Keep practicing, and use some competition to get better.
