i believe kimbo should at least get that guy a 240 shell. already loose before the 60 and still decided not to lift. he made the decision to stay in it after getting out of the groove and ended up wrecking the guy.
Agreed he should of let out of it after it would not stay straight. I get peddling off the line, but when you stay squirrelly afterward it’s time to kill it. especially because the width of a road is definitely smaller than some of the drag strips these cars run at.
He should absolutely be responsible for a shell at minimum. The 240 was going straight and was in front, not fair on the owner. It looks like he was slowly catching so just got greedy and took out someone else's pride.
Kind of pissed me off when Fred said the 2jz40 "wrecked" the first round, the GTR clearly clipped him when the GTR crossed into his lane, AFTER he was already having trouble keeping the car straight. He should have just let out. It's part of racing, I get it, but the 240 was ran in to.
@@stayreal7889 I doubt it. It is shitty that it happened, and the guy is responsible for causing the other guy to wreck. But unfortunately, it's part of racing. Both drivers understand and accept the risks involved which include possibly being wrecked by the other driver. I was just a little ticked off that Fred didn't acknowledge the other guy causing the wreck.
Problem is it’s a fuckin stupid event. Those lanes aren’t big enough for corrective maneuvers, once you break a tire loose. Plus, it’s nighttime and pitch black (except their silly pointless glow sticks) so you have no reference point for where you’re headed once you get sideways. But hey, no brain, no pain.
@Gonçalo Gomes yeah I know those are the only roads they have there but that’s like saying the only weapon I had was a spoon so I attacked a Grizzly Bear. They should grow a brain and race elsewhere. Let me say I’m not taking anything away from the skill of (most of) these drivers. The point is - it’s beyond skill when the road is this narrow. This was begging to happen and it’s only the skills of these drivers that kept more catastrophy and actual death from happening.
1320 best videos ever. Man I appreciate all of yall going to race to race so we can watch these races whenever we can not actually be there. A lot of ppl think it's easy to do what yall do but all the editing and hours of filming and driving and all nighters is a lot of work. Thanks to each of yall for the videos.
I really hope Kimbo does something to make it up to the 240 owner, He was careless and ignored rules to let off if you get squirly, like so many racers did. totaled his car and could have easily killed him being selfish for a win
he got loose and lifted, ended up in the other lane he wasn’t careless at all they are street racing, you know the risks when you buckle up in that car.
Sad to see it. Godzilla wasn't having any of that older model Nissan whoopass. I've always been a 240 fan, loved the AMS guys back in the day. Crazy seeing them perform like this now. What happens in a crash like this, will GTR guy be on the hook for anything? I'm sure they won't call the insurance but I'd bet they won't want to let that GTR run with them anymore if he doesn't make it right.
@@slimjimmy693 ya, it can be sucky. especially when the joke is made beforehand that he hopes its straighter on the street than on the track. #photographydirectorlivesmatter.
If he would not have gotten back into it , the wreck would have never happened but kimbo car had to just stay into it. Hope he will help the other guy out. Awd cars skate side to side all the time.
Huge shoutout to the track scouters for finding this road with just lose brush and bushes and no trees. Truly thankful he walked away. That was scary to watch.
@@user234ization Thanks for clarifying. I have seen this road before in a past 1320 video and I felt it is way too narrow (there was an off-road excursion in that race as well, but not as bad). I feel that the best roads are the wide roads that run through industrial complexes, but I guess that if this is the best scenario there, then you have to make sure all your equipment is up to snuff!
Have you been to New Mexico? 😂 There are lots areas with 75-100 mile visibility and no trees, no houses, no nothing. Very low population so remote areas have almost no traffic and few cops.
@@SWTH71 Please tell me where you are because I want to know where I could get a house that cheap. Where I live house are fancy Ferrari prices, not even the cheaper Ferrari's
I knew when the video started the guy in the Vega looked familiar then I seen his shirt said GRANTS,NM on it and said damn that is Nando! Congrats man! Haven’t seen you since high school glad to see your doing good 👍🏼
When he let off he sent all the weight to the front of the car, taking all the weight off the rear wheels. Him letting off is what made him spin into the 240. If you have ever driven on snow the same thing will happen if you start to slide
@@WiscoMTB37 look at when he first got sideways, he was behind the 240, he then pedaled and got back in it. If he had let off once it first got sideways he would have never got back in it and went sideways into the 240, go listen to the video
That was one of the scariest crashes I have ever seen! Just flew into the woods at such a MPH! I honestly thought it was going to be worse than that wow! Thank god he’s ok and shout out to Viking fab!
@@fl0at577 They roll easier because of stiff chassis regardless of tires, which can change some things as you said. You misunderstood my comment. He hit a dip off the side of the road, you can see his tail lights start to roll. I mean how it rolled and landed once without touching the top of one side of the car. I was impressed at that speed he didn't continue to roll multiple times, and that was most likely due to a good low center of gravity build. Like the weight of the roll cage, and positioning of cage joints, all of that matters in a roll scenario. The car was built good is all I was saying.
I was almost to the end of the comments before I found someone smart enough to noticed the Firebird. A lot of car people here evidently!. This is why I rarely watch 1320. two thirds interviews one third races.
Im sure if he is a respectable racer he will make amends, nobody owes anybody anything except when they hit them and take them out due to their negligence then imo they should work with the other car owner as much as they can to make it right.
GTR guy needs to know when to say when... Just cost a man his car trying to be a hero. That 240 got a solid car jump, no way that GTR would have made it around him. "Drives straight on the street"... Straight into your rear quarter panel. It's a street race, not the final round of the US Nationals.
You're completely wrong saying that there is no way the gtr would have made it around him. re-watch the video from the GTR perspective. He was about to blow his doors off like he was standings till until he went into his lane and hit him. He went from being two cars behind to being at the middle of his door in about 1 second before letting off. If the gtr stayed in his lane the gtr was going to take the W.
@@mexicolongisland9698 watch again. The GTR tagged the 240 at the finish line lights. Could he have gone around? Sure, and he would have, but it was already too late IMO. That and I cant stand somebody's stuff getting trashed for nothing like that.
That Vega is nasty! Honestly though, I'm not sure AWD should be allowed to run, it's just such a big advantage on an unprepped surface like that. I don't think the Vega could plant the power early enough to hold off Kimbo had he been able to run. Either way, awesome racing and congrats to the Vega team!
AWD isn't the advantage everyone thinks it is. What are you going to do on a sketchy surface when the steer tires also happen to be spinning? Just compare the red demon to Grannas, or any 6sec GTR vs a 6sec radial car.
Manny in Kimbo can learn to drive it would be a badass car. Still shaking my head over that last race where he gave the guy the back tire and hit and got hustled
That vega was sick, but I love that Malibu. Small tire, 383 sbc, procharged, and dude has no idea what it makes because he hasn't had it dyno'd. Old school legend! 🔥
That wagon though, man after my own heart....boost and 150shot of intercooler👍🏻👍🏻. The guy betting shared his winnings with the driver, never seen that before but hell why not
He likes to bet big, and if he bets on a car, and they win him a ton of money, the least you can do is show his appreciation. Without that driver doing work, he doesn't get paid.
These videos shoulda have millions if views this kinda content is the only place you get to see this kinda racing cause getting invites to these races to race or even just spectate is insanely hard to find
Its actually pretty easy when you've got enough power to spin all 4. Add in two lane street racing and tunnel vision.. perfect circumstances for a crash. This was just one of those things that's been waiting to happen. Unfortunate but all part of racing.
Love that Vega, the driver's story of his Dad, priceless. I hope the 240 guy gets his ride repaired, I always backed out of a run if there was any possibility of hitting another car, because it's not just the car, it's the driver, we all want to go home to our loved ones. Thanks for these videos, I know there are many who frown on street racing but it has matured as it grew. I see some good and thoughtful organizing, but really great sportmanship at all levels...
Wow, nice this is the first time I have seen a street race in awhile that has no spectaculars, trees, fire hydrants, power poles, transformers buildings or parked cars on the sides. 👍
That dude in the GTR with no roll cage or five point harness is playing a deadly game with his life. If he would have been the one that rolled he might not be here to talk about it. I hope he ups his safety game substantially.
So where are any of the “tv stars from the 405 with their fastest cars on earth”? Thanks 1320 for continuing to share real content with real people and little drama. Best street racing content available
@@TTSFabrication you are misunderstanding my comment. 1320 puts out the best street racing content IMO. Every time I tune into one of the street racing shows on Discovery there are guys from the “405” claiming they have the fastest cars on the planet. Why aren’t they at this race? That’s my question. Not knocking anyone, just asking a question
Unfortunate that it happened but that's racing, and I drag race cause I don't want to damage my car, what does happen in times like this is after a bit kimbo won't be invited to race, just like Jeff Lutz, they don't let him race at many events even though he passes tech and follows the rules they turn him away all the time, nobody wants to race if theirs no chance of winning
These are the best videos but man I feel for the man that crashed. Btw that was a 68 firebird not a camaro. :) I have one. They should of re ran that camaro vs gtr race
