+Emin Fejzagic actually the resultlist I posted was incorrect. Nik came in 5th. The judging system is pretty straight forward now. Different judges judge one specific criteria (Static, Dynamic, Combinations), and do not give overall points. Strong single moves will give you high points in one category, but to get a all over high score you need to be great in all categories. The system is certainly not perfect yet but it is going into a good direction and if anyone has suggestions as to how to improve it I'm certain an email to wswcf will be well received. A thing that you do not see in the videos, is that these big events are really not about who wins or loses. Ask any of the participants or guests about what they most cherish from those days and most likely you'll notice that everyone just had a great time, encouraged each other, friendships were made as well as plans to further develop the sport.
First of all: Great video, great community! Many athletes go either just for a static or just for a dynamic style in their training. In my opionion, it's way more interesting to watch someone break the limits in their own way (especially if it's new and creative, e.g. dejan's victorian impossible dip) than someone who combines static and dynamic skills with moves we've already seen 100 times or could've expected to come. Therefore i think it would be cool to add one judge for creativity. And you can be creative in every possible way, may it be static or dynamic. And that's also the reason why I and many others love to watch the championships - because of the new moves, we've never seen before. PS: Check out my channel for a bar-grandpa video :)
BaristiWorkout Alright, then I misunderstood. But I still don't understand why people do all these jumps from bar to bar, backflips and other non-related stuff. Do you give points for that and in that case, which category?
Emin Fejzagic Bar transfers are explosive movements and often done in combinations. A backflip is sometimes done at the end just to round up the performance and to make it a nice show. Different people just have different styles, and i think that's great, because imagine how boring a show was if everyone did the same style. A maltese and a one arm front lever are impressive, but after having seen it 10 times it loses its appeal. Same goes for jumps. If everyone did the same jumps it would be boring as well
Is there an official list for which static holds will give you X amount of points or will this vary in every single competition based on the judge at the times judgement?
Street Workout World Championship 2014 in Moscow! 67 athletes from 48 countries! We hope you guys enjoy the video of this EPIC event! Let us know what you think ;)
I need to know the steps to get to that level, I do pull ups but don't know which muscles to workout to lift myself over the bar after a regular pull up?
hey guys...can someone tell me what kind of exercises they do to reach such level of power and strenght? Are there specific work out exercises? Thank you for your answers!!
hey there:) this is really amazing:) id like to ask on behalf of people like me watching this, wondering how on earth i could even get started to get to even half of what those guys are doing. any references to workouts for beginners or advice from anyone who are pros or already doing these moves would be great:) much appreciated:)
darkelf547 I would incorporate some leg machines and martial art equipment If I had the opportunity to have my own calisthenics sets of bars but this is awesome shit.
Yes, it was started by a group of black guys in New York that literally did workouts on stop lights. Then they move on to these bars and now everyone is doing it. Look up their videos.
