@@TkKirkland-lm5wv ain't no east and west, the whole city taking losses, that's one of the main problems, claiming streets and picking sides, trying to divide, we don't own none of these streets
Hearing the history of Detroit music and seeing what the artist in the city are doing now is big a lot of cities need to learn from Detroit the whole city bossed up
That's fucked up how his life was cut short. Blade was younger than me, but I remember Billy in middle school. Yat was my older brother's boy in high school. I wish they had really really blew up, but they'll always be legends regardless!
Blood, Sweat and Tears is a fuckin CLASSIC! I STILL bang that album to this day! When Blade died that shit was a HUGE LOSS to the city! What Tupac is to the world, Blade was to DETROIT! He was the Detroit Pac! R.I.P. to the Great Lake Ruler! ✊💯 What up doe to all my Detroit Family, Eastside 7Mile & Hoover checking in!
I was just watching a pistons game & heard a dope ass song I never heard before & it was Blade Icewood I never heard of Blade til today .. rip .. s/o to Detroit I’m from California but I love Detroit & I never ever been there
Born in Fremont Cali (bay), moved to Detroit when I was 2 or 3. Moved back to cali in 2010 & moved back to Detroit 2014. Cali fuck with Detroit heavy. Especially the bay. When I was in Oakland, they showed me “hella” damn love. From the D to the Bay
It's been talked about since it happened, it's just everyone wasn't up on Detroit music at that time, Michigan always had a lane, which is why Detroit is where it is now musically. I'm from Jersey, my pops from Philly & half of his Mother's family was sent to Detroit after their parents died in a car accident leaving my Grandmother & her 13 siblings orphaned. Half went to Foster Care in Philadelphia, half in Detroit. I remember going to family reunions out there in the early 80's. It's a different day and time now & the City is not the same. Love & Respect to The People of Detroit but we gotta do waaaay better. As a People we are doing the opposite of what our Ancestors fought & died for. Thats every City in the United States. We can't blame the European Colonists for what we are doing in 2022.
True facts!!! I road with them to Atlanta to get Too Short on a record with them! They had bout half m ticket in cash then. Also got to talk to Yaht a few weeks before he passed. Them guys was getting it!
I know feeling brother same thing wit my cousin while in jail then my brother when free I said na I pass on club tonight woke up to he dead shit is a sickening feeling
Rest in peace blade icewood I remember being in jail and guys singing him and even before I got to jail and before he was really wrapping he was rapping but didn't have really any material out yet this was in the 90s he might have had a couple small demos but it wasn't hitting the streets like his later shift from the late 90s in the early 2000s and he died in 2004 but my brother used to kick it with him one-on-one and I grew up a little bit in different parts of the city I got people on 7-mile 5 MI finkle outer drive the west and the east side I know many people but blade icewood what's a good guy deep within but I feel that he could have saved his life by moving out of the hood and getting away from all these people that were hating on them you know he made songs about people hating on him and when he started to blow just because we're from that area he seemed like he was untouchable he was hit seven times with a k and then they got them again cuz you're still hanging with the same people I feel that a lot of that could have been avoided if he went straight to the labels and got a big ass record deal I'm not saying to move crazy far away but get away far enough to where no one can touch you that's what I truly believe I feel that some of it was his own demise and the guys that killed them were just hating on him the streets talk I've been around all these guys man I'm from the hood I have lived at 7:00 in Southfield fenkell and lasher evergreen all over the place man you can never get too hutty or cocky and if you do then there's a price to pay whether you have weapons or not in a lot of good guys that come from the hood that never made it even to blade icewood statuer on a music level type deal but they were heavy heavy in the streets and not necessarily rapping and they were praised for what they did in the streets and who they were their names stood behind it sunny to be one of them and many others and a lot of these guys had lost their lives and I was up close and personal with him and around this time all this beef was going on I was around these guys I know guys that are deep within but I am no longer in the hood I still come through once in awhile remember I came from The trenches but I am living a better life now child of God I never forget my roots of where I come from and I pray for a lot of young people that are coming from this hardened life that there is a change in a difference it's all about what you make it if you want to stay in the hood mess with hoodrats and slang dope and do this shit to rest of your life either in jail or death is all was it really comes out of it or seriously hurt paralyzed rest in peace to blade icewood if he would have just been a little bit longer man he would have had a big record deal
Crazy I remember that shit like yesterday I remember billy just had turned himself in I thought rook been there tho learn something new everyday rip Icey boy
