Streets of Beijing: Bao Chao Hutong 宝钞胡同 to Dongsi Street. 

This area is very close to the Gugong Imperial Palace, so it was within the old Imperial City Walls. One of my friends lives in a old style Hutong, which he remodeled 3 years ago. Most Hutong housing tend to be remodeled, as they didn't have build-in bathrooms. There are still Hutong buildings from the Ming Dynasty, which will be in my Wudaoying 五道营 Hutong video, please look for it.

Much later than than 2018, and it shows what it looked Baochao Hutong entrance from Gulou Dajie, looked like after Beijing mandated "bricking changes" implemented to the lane, and for all of Beijing illegally built additions to businesses. Unfortunately, even Mr. Shi's restaurant lost his entrance from the lane. You can see bricking at the building on the left, as I walk into Baochao lane.
