No matter what anyone says, this will always be one of my favorite battles. I love both Green's and Devious' style, and I'm really glad I got to meet them and battle them twice. I know Baby Bang is too. If you guys liked this, check out my channel and see if you find something more that you like, I could always use some feedback in the comments. /SpazM
Juan Delgado I think they look amazing too, but I don't think there was any dubstep in this. I think I heard some trap and some types of electro, but no dubstep.
Really? That's interesting. When I think trap I think of people like Bauuer and TNGHT or that Maad City remix. When I think dubstep it's more along the Skrillex line of that intense drop followed by a flurry of sounds.
Ani ph the move greentek does at 4:00 is called a bent legged shoot it was created by mr.wiggles I think its an old school ground move u don't see very often.
Alright, I've come full circle. I watched this video 5 years ago and remembered it being amazing; it's still amazing and what I said before holds up in my eyes. However, while I don't agree with the final decision I can respect the decision, as perhaps it seems the two Swedes were able to collectively perform better while Greentek may have been unable to carry his teammate. Personally, I feel Spazm absolutely killed it in round 1 and 3. I think Greentek saw the tenacity and focus in his opponent Spazm, and brought his absolute "A" game; "alright we got a real battle on our hands" he thought. Thusly, I think Greentek righteously slew the opposition on his own efforts, alone. Was it enough to cumulatively bring home the prize? I'm not sure. Furthermore, its clear Greentek has the most experience and training (he's the Master Yoda of Popping in my mind), yet I prefer Spazm stylistically. It's more raw and unrefined. More reminiscent of a true street battle. Yet for this match I side with Greentek, like I used to ALL the time before he became over-hyped, because he brought that same raw instinct from the cardboard box or subway or club (whatever) that made me key in on him for so long. He still amazes me sometimes. Slim Boogie was my hero but he's gone so far off from his original marker (everyone should evolve to grow as a human - and spiritually) I just don't understand him anymore. Green still carries that magical, out-in-left-field, spaceman vibe in his work that, in my opinion is the crux of popping. Raw, unrestricted human expression. Good battle all around. I want to come back in 5 years and see if my opinion has changed. See you in 5 more years.
Green is one of my inspirations for dance, first off. And im usually not a fan of devious, but truly i think he killed it here. The two songs he and spazm danced to obviously had the best beats to utilize. And spazm just got devious, but i thought he still killed it. Respect to all
his moves were on point to the song. i watch this particular video and it stll amazes me how nasty spasm performs these moves. greentech was on point as well. only wish i was there to witness this incredible performance by both teams.
Kite is my favorite dancer and Green my second favorite, so I hold them both in high esteem. But I think their styles are so different (Robot-animation for Green, Boogaloo-crazy legs for Kite) tat the union would not be as productive as hoped. Unless they arrive at an greement : Green takes on the slow beats, and Kites occupies himself with the fast paced tracks...
This is sad yet sweet. Greenteck is by far my favorite popper out of the 4, baby bang is my second favorite. It breaks my heart to see greenteck not get past the finals to go to Paris. Greenteck deserves it more than almost anyone. Sadly, the truth is that Spazm and BB were clearly the better team. No disrespect to devious, dude is sick, but i feel that Greenteck needs a different partner. Either way, great battle, great sportsmanship.
I agree. Would be unreal if Green teamed up with someone like Salah, Popping John or Nelson. But since green and devious are both in MZK Im sure theyre sticking together.
Nah their differences in style is what would make it work. Nobody wants to see back to back similar styles. A team with diversity allows them to touch on more, especially when they are the best at what they do, rather than being limited or out classed. Face it their has been this rival between hardcore poppers/robotics and Boogaloo/funk for so long. Two kats who are the best at what they do from both sides of the spectrum brought together would be epic and unstoppable. Kite & Teck all day imho.
All freestyle, but when ur as pro as these guys and u train to many different songs most times in tournys they have heard the song b4. Dancing to songs you've never heard b4 is still very simple.
I hear you. But as much as I would like to happen, it won't be feasible for practical reaons : Green is established in Montreal an kite lives in Japan.
Its a matter of preference. I find it hard to say Nelson has no imagination, when he has beaten guys like Kite. But Im sure you know a lot more about popping than the OGs judging Juste debout.
In my opinion, I agree with Genesis. But aswell as he said, they were both dope and big props to them all. its sad to see that the judges cant really see that spazm and baby aint doing well when they actually get to France and juste debout. Twice now, first round. Whilst I bet green and devious will continue on the same level they do. To much ups and downs for baby and spazm
I saw this battle as Devious round1, Green Round2, Spazm Round3, Green Round4. But hey whatever. Probably the sickest beats in a row I've heard in a battle.
Devious be holding Green back in those Juste Debout battle finals. It never look right when a chubby dude be poppin'.....as me how i know! Green was schoolin' Erbody! He team up with Spazm....they woulda been unbeatable.
I dont see your point here, youre trying to say baby bang imitated someone that did the same thing AFTER he did it? This event was prior to JD Finland.
Hey Guys. i have been trying to find out the name of the FIRST SONG in this competion Pls Help salah from algeria - Funkin Styles 1 On 1 Popping Final @ Salah vs KidBoogie.flv
If it was a entertainment show I would have to agree with you 100%. Two similar styles would allow for better choreography, etc. but battling is more about your opponent. The team with the large/stronger arsenal is the team likely to be victorious. Devious is holding green back as their skill levels are totally off. Kite can keep up with greens skill and vice versa. They would compliment each other well with their styles. Dream team
The problem is the fact that the first time they tried in Frence they lost against Cho-thkoo who actually won tho final. (but they were the only team who could get a cross against them, in all the other battles, Cho-thkoo got all the votes) and the second time they tried they lost against two girls. That battle were acording to my opinion, and several people I've asked, a battle Baby Bang and Spazm should have won!
Querido amigo Luis Torres espero que después de tres años has cambiado de opinión !!! Por lo visto este chico ha ganado unas cantas competiciones y dos de ellas la mas prestigiosa JD. Porfavor solo le puedes admirar . Greenteck is the BEST.
the thing is man, they didnt do it at a specific time. Like babys first solo he looked like he didnt know the song, doing moves / stuff, not to the beat. And the people went crazy. So you see, swedish audiences are never good. In any kind of event/sport.
