This Car Mount sadly isn't currently available. When it does return to amazon there will still be a link for the product in the description. Sorry for the inconvenience.

At least for the fluid head balancing I'd suggest a Short Tie Down Handle, they're also great for HI Hats. I agree with the shaking, you'd need a higher end rig to reduce the shaking to make stabilization in post work, otherwise its a great mad max rig. I personally do not trust ball heads with that much weight as in my experience they tend to give out with anything over 5kgs, let alone with additional gravity forces being put onto them while the car is moving. I personally prefer more dedicated gear heads. For safety most higher end rigs have ratchet straps, which would work far better than some rope or bungie cord IMO. For creative purposes I'd say it works fine and is a pretty natural look to the images when side on and the car slower would match a melancholic mood. Thank you for the indepth review and your experience with this car mount. It's far better than the old one my uni had.

Thank you for the recommendations! I’d like to put together a more heavy duty rig at some point but this is what I got at the moment. I’ll start looking into gear heads.

Nice, I think also maybe cranking the shutter and then stabilizing in post (and maybe adding in some subtle motion blur) could also help with the shakes

You’re right about the shutter. I didn’t realize until after I had gotten all the footage that I probably should have done that. As for stabilizing the footage, what program would you use? After effects? Premiere? Davinci?

@@KevinTalksFilmmaking I used to use Final Cut but have moved over to Resolve and I think Resolve has some great stabilization built in. Final Cut’s wasn’t too bad either but Resolve’s might be better

Does your camera have IBIS?

My black magic doesn’t sadly. My lenses also don’t because I had to modify them to work with the adapter I put on the camera.
