I appreciate the work you put into feeding the slugs. As a slug enthusiast let me assure you we need more people like you in the world! . . . . . . .Keep your chin up chicken, try not to let it get you down.
That did make me laugh, I suppose you do get slug enthusiasts. I do prefer snails at least they have nice shells. I think a lot of people have been contributing to the movement this year.
I‘m pretty sure that the slug invasion and the bad garden season until now is mostly caused by the weather being bonkers this year. A lot of fruits and vegetables just rot in one or two days after harvesting over here. It‘s so annoying. At least you got some carrots growing. Mine never popped up. 😭 The only things working over here are the tomatoes, and some zucchini/courgettes. Next year will be a better year for growing vegetables in your garden, I‘m 100% sure. 🤗 DK‘s gifts are amazing! ❤❤ Need one of these owls for my own garden. So yes, I feel you. So much. But I‘m just trying again next year. 😊
Gardening sure can be challenging, especially vegetables and fruits because so many different critters love to eat them. Don't get too discouraged, it happens and you will get the vegetables sorted. The garden does look pretty amazing to me, lots of variety and color, plus excellent decor. The raspberries look really good! I have learned a lot from your videos, so thank you for posting. Very nice gifts from DK as well, the signs are funny lol. Cheers!
Thanks, Dave, for your kind words, I've never had so many things destroyed by slugs. It is difficult to keep positive, but I know it's a slow journey. Hopefully, we will have a bit of sun to keep them at bay
Second time typing this, first attempt when the video went up didnt work. Sooooo pleased you liked the little prezzies, absolutely my pleasure and whats the chances i buy the same bloody owl!! 😂 You're doing an amazing job, such a relaxing channel to enjoy ❤❤ Im surprised Roge isnt scaring the slugs off! Hehe
Thanks again DK. The owl is really cool because the resin lights up at night. If Roger was going to last I would leave him out in the garden but I chipped a bit off his head the other day, so I've got to be a bit more careful moving him around. Slugs would probably hide inside him, they are everywhere at the moment.
Keep it up Rach! You have done fabulous work so far! I get how you're feeling esp with me being in the profession. These things take time and I've no doubt you will conquer this. Our weather really is downer but please don't give up 😁
@@RogerTheGardener there is also a cheaper method my dad used to do and that was pieces of egg shells, the copper thing is also a good idea but ud maybe wanna get a spool of it and create a barrier around Ur planters but that could be costly
Thank you, I will try these methods, I did pick up some copper tape from poundland a long time ago, but I can't find it, It's been the worst year in a long time.
Thank you, yes I haven't tried it yet I was hoping to divert them somehow so I didn't have to kill them, so that the birds would get them. But there are a few methods I'm going to try.
Slugs are great! Lol Don't let it get you down! It feels rough when you're putting so much work into it but we've always had slug trouble - maybe a greenhouse is in order?
It’s easy to feel disheartened when the slimy gittage decimates the edibles but omg, look at that fantastic pink plant, hydrangea is it? It’s magnificent, and the raspberry canes look great, in fact lots look great. The new plant haul, well I’d have been happy with all of it. The roses will be beautiful, I’ve got my eye on a beautiful climbing wild rose, its flowers are a deep pink. Remember to stop, grab a glass of plonk, a book and enjoy the work you’ve done. 🤗🤗
