That machine on the wall next to your window is a independent purfiying system which sucks in air outside the room and purify it through multiple filter.
@@VeggiesOnTour This train station is Shanghai's old train station, while Hongqiao Railway Station is newer. So this train station is a bit chaotic and crowded.
Considering the language barrier, it is recommended that foreigners arrive at the high-speed rail station 40 minutes to 1 hour in advance, otherwise they may miss the train. China's high-speed rail is very punctual. Smoking is a bad habit of many Chinese people, but it is slowly improving. Many snacks are dried tofu products, but the taste is different. The strip snacks are spicy strips, made of flour. For long rides on the high-speed rail, you can use the APP to order takeout (not train food, but provided by restaurants in the next city. There will be a QR code on the seat. You can scan it to order food, and it will be delivered to the high-speed rail after the next stop)
because now is summer vacation, lots of people a travel around with their children and Beijing is a hot city to visit, enjoy your trip, welcome from Beijing.
@@VeggiesOnTourCoz July,August is summer holiday season for students in China,so there will be lots and lots of families go on holiday with their children
Like your video a lot. Hope you have a good time in Beijing. BTW, in summer season, one of the most popular cities in China is Harbin, located at north eastern China. It is very comfortable there right now. Very beautiful city, nice weather, warm hearted people, delicious food and cool temperature around 28-ish during the day.
Nah... For the past few years western media have been showing empty train stations and telling the world what a black hole the HSR have been. No one's supposed to be riding it, no one can afford the tickets since the China man makes 500 usd a year. And the governments building it for show.
The box in the hotel room was a "hanky panky" box 😂 condoms, oils and xxx toys. Usual in cheaper hotels or love hotels in China. Scan the QR wechat or alipay, pay for the item you want and the little door opens for the product you bought. Not that I've ever used it....
I’ve been to some hotels in China and they only have 1-2 boxes of condom near the coffee/tea area and they do charge. They have a list of items with the prices beside.
Shanghai Railway Station was built pretty early. Waiting room 5 is reminicent of the early generation train stations. To accommodate the high speed trains and new lines, it went through some renovations, but still not as optimized as the new stations in terms of the boarding process. Currently it's going through another round of renovation and adjustment.
Probably stressful for first time HSR travellers :D Don't worry. For next time - as long as you pass the ticket gate you will be fine. They must ensure everyone gets on before it leaves the station, and 99% of the time, it leaves on time too. Edit: Have to add that 27:00 you are looking at a mini condom and sex toy vending box. You scan the code and pay, then the lock is released. :D
I think I can give you a nickname, the Tofu Couple. I strongly suggest you find a local or ask the hotel staff to recommend a vegetarian restaurant to you. As a Chinese, it is really hard to bear to see you eat tofu as your staple food.
Exactly this. Train tickets in the UK are super expensive and the trains are not nice at all. So I'm surprised he said that tickets in China are not cheap 🤯
Your girlfriend is beautiful!...It is understandable that you will be shocked when you see so many people riding the high-speed train for the first time. There are a few reasons why western countries the governments don't want their citizens to visit China. 1st to see all the Chinese super infrastructures. 2nd how China is able to keep the public areas so clean, green and organized. 3th why China is so safe even for foreigners. 4th China has too many people, but the government has solved the problem of the number of high-speed rails. China's high-speed rail is the first in the world, with 42,000 kilometers.
You can order food via scanning the qr code on your chair. Basically everything you can order, kfc, McDonald's, Starbucks, Or multiple Chinese food options. The food will be delivered to you directly.
I think this is one of their older train stations that were designed for slower trains. The newer high-speed train station is called Hongqiao, opened over a decade ago. Shanghai needs a newer and bigger train station...attractive couple, btw:)
That yogurt/milky water, カルピス /Calpis, is actually a brand that belongs to a Japanese company. This drink is also popular in Japan. Possibly you western people won't favor it, but I like it.
Haha, yeah I HATE these titles as they’re never true. Unfortunately when people are genuine, it sounds ingenuine because of all the clickbaiters. We nearly missed our train, we’ve never experienced so many people in our life going for a train - surely makes sense that it is stressful? 😂 Re; other titles, China isn’t discussed in Europe, we almost know nothing about it. There isn’t much online, except for silly bloggers making silly faces and acting like they’re shocked - which we don’t even watch. 😅👏🏻
Shanghai Railway Station is the oldest train station in Shanghai. It has a good location but is small in scale and has very limited capacity for trains. Shanghai Hongqiao Railway Station is the main hub for high-speed trains and the largest train station in Shanghai. Most high-speed trains depart from Hongqiao Railway Station.
Someday live in HK foreigners after July 10th have applied the MTP (Mainland travel permit) can get the High speed train to China also used the MTP card and scan by the gate no need humanity to scan and even live in Macau foreigners also can used MTP card to China also go opposite to Zhuhai Hengqin.
The ride itself is quite relaxing, boarding is stressful. The bullet train is very punctual. Some first time visitor missed bullet train. To be honest, the train station was not too crowded, it would be people mountain people sea in holiday season. Enjoy your time in Beijing!
something about brits and trains lol, there's always some drama. last brit couple and train episode I saw, they barely made it by seconds 🤣. chinese trains are almost never late, not even by a minute 😆
I think in Japan if you miss the train you can take next one, even if it is bullet train.Shanghai to Beijing is quite amazing guys.Hope you enjoy Beijing.Jackie should come up and greet us you guys 🙂
China's high speed railways. Impressive not only for it's scheduled arrival and speed but also the stability and sound proof capabilities. You don't really feel like traveling 300kph on that thing
@@VeggiesOnTour China has incredible infrastructure management and maintenance. They also keep their technology up to date renewing their technologies every 5 years or so infrastructure don't get run down while ensuring people gets their best experiences.
Every Chinese person has run at a railway station in their life. I just ran for 20mins at Zhengzhou east station last month it was huge!! My previous flight got delayed and I ran for my life in that city. I still missed the train. It was unfortunate. Seats of the following trains were all sold out days before because of the population in China. That's why when you miss a train, things get real complicated.
@@VeggiesOnTour I kept refreshing on the app and finally was able to secure a seat in the business class just an hour later. so overall it wasn't too bad! Only painful for my wallet
6:52 for many occasions (if not most) we can only see a sexy neck and his adam's apple floating around the center of the screen, lololol 13:16 that button (with the text "Open" on it, note it is not "download" or "install from apple store" ) is only valid when u have the National Rail App installed from apple store/or google play(if u find it there, chinese phones have their own manufactuer's stores), or even possibly some extra operation is required, as is not easy to detail here. 26:50 that may be Fresh Air System, which exchanges and filters air (or maybe heat-exchanger too) from outside.
High-speed rail wifi requires you to download an app and then log in with your mobile phone number to use it. There is also a type of power bank that comes with wifi for rent on the train, which can be directly searched and connected for use
@@alexk5772I heard it's not just the city you landed in, but nearby cities as well. For example, if you transit in Guangzhou, you can travel anywhere within Guangdong province.
@@dicky-duck6632 I don't know if it's possible in Guangdong, but most cities don't allow people to leave the city. Maybe the situation in Guangdong is different because Hong Kong is nearby and you can go to Hong Kong through certain areas.
The spicy snack you eat on the high-speed train is called la tiao(辣条),it is quite popular in China. the snacks before “la tiao” are all dried tofu(豆干), but they have different flavors The red box in the hotel is filled with sex toys, you have a girl friend, so I guess you don't need it.
I am amuse by the way you are suspicious about the "hanky panky box". I came across in some countries, there are first aid kit medical box in the hotel for emergency use but for this one, the colour of the box itself tells you what will be the first aid content inside it. Just scan the QR code and pay it if anyone need the content during an emergency.
