Great tip for anyone having trouble making it look more like a choppy "Stop-motion" look. Add the effect "Posterize Time" to the layer with Keyframes (Shape Layer here) and set the Frame Rate to like 8.
just based off of what i see going frame by frame: - the curves of the "b" move to leave just the vertical part to form the "i" - probably done by moving the curves of the b via path into the i shape or by track matte - the "a" shifts from the middle of "bad" to the end for "idea" - the "d" shifts from the end to the middle part while also stretching for the "e" - the "e" forms via moving paths probably so the first keyframe is three dots on the "d" and the vertical line is a dot ending on a keyframe where the dots all extend horizontally/vertically respectively (or it could have been position keyframes with track matte) it's pretty much just experimenting since i'm not sure if the above works, but hope it helps anyways!
I had the same problem with the G tool. Even when I went back to V to click and drag half the letter away, it would only pull one point, or it wouldn't move at all
It's really finnicky. You have to select the layer, press G, select one point with G (so as to signify thats the letter you're animating, I suppose) then switch to V and the points should look like little squares now, and then you click and drag to select all of them, and then you go back to pressing on a point again to move it. If you hold shift, make sure you select it first and then press shift - but when you want to release it, make sure you let go of the mouse button first and then shift, otherwise it will mess up your position. (sorry for being 2 years late but if someone can find this useful I'm happy)
hello, it seems like I'm the only one having this problem, but I hope you hear me out. So it was going well until I played it back and yes the stretch did animate from stretch to back to original, but the problem is the position didn't change for each letters, it stayed off the frame ...I hope you can help me with my little knowledge,
Thanks! Unfortunately this is a destructive method, meaning you can't adjust the text after you've converted it to shapes, so no you can't really use Essential Graphics in this case.
