I have a test on Sunday and I have a question, why did u change the value of y to -48 by (16x3=48) on example 1a) but on example 1b) u didn’t change the y value but only the x?
With transformations, outside f(x) affects only y values and inside the brackets of f(x) affects only the x values. So with 1a the 3 is outside f(x) and is multiply so we keep x the same but multiply all y values by 3. On 1b the 3 is inside the brackets so this time x will change, and we do the inverse operation. It's 3x so we divide all x values by 3 while y stays the same. Hard to explain by text so hope this helps. Let me know if you need additional explanation.
