What I love about Sean is that he does not belittle his opponents by going easy on them. Imagine what it does to a fighter mentally, if he is doing his best, only to discover that he is unable to harm his opponent, while his opponent picks him apart effortlessly. Sean always makes it a fight. He damages the body short term, but makes the other fighter stronger mentally long term. If you were locked in a cage with a prime Sean, fought back and stayed on your feet, you know you have a fighter spirit in you.

It's not that he sucks, how's defense and stamina are elite! It's just against the "mixed martial artist", anyone who is has 2 or 3 high level skill sets he looks bad. His Usman fight was so one sided he went up in weight. He lost his a decision to Cannoneer because he threw the same 3 strokes over and over Again, Dricus, who has a third or less of the the experience as Strickland figured out mid fight, spam the overhand and threaten takedown to beat him. Let's not mention what 🗿did. He's right to avoid the Whitaker fight, I think his pace changes would near hell for him, he's have to fall back on stamina. This makes me think of the boxing coach I train with. One of his favorite drills is "Speed, Power, Touch". Where you switch between fast combinations to touch, consecutive power shots to touch and occasionally between speed and power every minute. It's fantastic for conditioning as it requires you to pace yourself accordingly to the output but I think of the practicality of doing touch combinations while I'm doing it. This looks like the sort of practical benefit you get from something like that... keeping the intensity up while being able to switch between touching for distance and the regular combinations and power hits.

Guys, remember…Sean called out Japanese fighters OVER 180. This means he walks around over 180, he’s not significantly smaller, he just has the type of physic that can cut down to light weight and Sean doesn’t. Sean’s a little heavier but these guys are similar in size and it’s not much of a factor here when you consider the full context

Anpo was around 180 by his own account. Strickland himself said he's around 220 while on vacation in Japan. Sean is also decent amount taller and longer reach. All of that really adds up, and if both were of equal skill Sean would have a huge advantage. That being said, it was evident that Sean has much better boxing. From his cardio to his style, he's just hard for anyone to fight honestly. If you can't KO him he will just impose his awkward style and make it his fight, like he did here. TBH, Sean was being very respectful in the first few rounds and only turned up the heat after Anpo did first. Most likely Sean could have stopped the smaller man in 1-2 rounds at max if he had wanted to.
