Man. Perfect point. I don't understand why use means that you have processed 100 of double ply cardboard and reprofiled the edge 15 times. A pocket knife should be used for general light cutting, but it's there if you need to do something more. If I have cardboard to process....I'm gonna use a box cutter. The right tool for the job.

Not sure if it's been posted in comments yet but PSF-27 is essentially Carpenters spray formed (not quite PM but much better than ingot formed in terms of carbide distribution) D2 steel. So as you usually point out NOT like chinese or generic D2. Think closer to CPM-D2. Side note- At this point I generally know when and how you are gonna say a lot of your catchphrases as this point, which almost makes it more fun hearing you react (like yelling about fixe blades, blade to handle, athletic shorts, carrying expensive knives, user knives that don't look like they were thrown at concrete, etc). So thanks for that ahaha

Somehow what spoke to me most was the rant about what a "knife that's been used" looks like. God forbid you still treasure and enjoy keeping safe a knife that you use. My main user is an Off Grid Knives Scorpion in full DLC... The only thing you can see are some annoying streaks in the DLC on the blade from resin from tree branches I was using it on, but other than that, nothing is chipped, gnarly, etc... and I put that thing through hell.

I'm not into tactical stuff as a rule, but I've always liked the looks of Striders. They have this sci-fi tankiness...Like they were designed by Ralph McQuarrie, but for a Klingon. I like a lot of the weirder blade finishes he does too.

Hell yeah,!!!,I agree 💯 percent with you,Strider knives are over priced and that's the reason I don't have one either,yes I want one too,I'm in the middle of a trade but I'm basically paying or trading 75 percent on one next fri,so they are well made and they use premium steels,but I'm just glad the boy I'm trading doesn't know really what he has but he's a Benchmade fan and I'm trading 3 for 1 so who's getting the better deal, because I don't believe I am ,,but I want a strider that bad,anyway great vid,I appreciate your time and knowledge,Thanx

Schrade SCH301. Its a beefy tanto framelock of about $24 and 10 ounces of 3/16" thick blade and stainless steel frame plates. It has a similar profile as the Strider and is actually a decent knife. Something that surprised me is how the extra weight helps to power the knife through difficult cuts in wood in particular. Once you get 10 ounces of sharp blade moving its hard to stop it. That thing will absolutely SHRED a 2×4" in seconds! Btw i also have the SCH 304 which is similarly built of 3/16" thick blade and frame but has a nice drop point profile, and the SCH306T which is a similarly built tanto but uses 1/8" blade stock, has a sculpted or beveled handle frame and is a bit lighter and more refined. All 3 are absolute BEASTS, however. Budget level but surprisingly well made at the sub $25 price point. Just a FYI.

I like the argument that a phone cost $1500+- and justifies spending as much on a knife that is carried around. That is how I make my case...of course I don't have a wife to yell at me.

I cannot tolerate or forgive stolen honor from military, and no one's more guilty of this than the convicted felon, Mick Strider. I'll gladly forgive a non-violent felony conviction (and even a violent one with proper demonstration of both restitution and emotional change) after a paid debt and a change of ways. Falsifying military honor to sell products or gain popularity is not something I'll ever - EVER - forgive or forget. I'll not deny a person to move on with their life, but I certainly won't patronize their business, especially when said business began with advertising and selling product with falsely claimed military honor. Mick Strider, aka Mickey Ray Burger will never get a penny of my money. Anyone who has ever served or who honors those who faithfully do should look in their souls to determine if buying something from a person who did what Mick Strider has done is something they can do. Your choice is your own and I respect your right to make it, but so is mine. My personal pride and the honor in which my family has served the military of this great country deserves better than Strider Knives gives it.

Everyone knows. This is common knowledge. It sucked and it was wrong... but it was an extremely long time ago. I'm choosing to move on, and I know most others have as well.

@@metal_complex Most others obviously DON'T know, and many who don't would also choose to avoid supporting a business that began by falsifying personal military honor to make the business seem more legitimate. You chose to forgive and move on. I don't begrudge you the right, but I don't share it (honor is NEVER for sale with me.) Suum cuique is the phrase meaning 'to each his own' but I prefer a more literal translation 'everyone gets what is due to them.'

@@metal_complexNo but seriously. M. Strider Production line / No signature / Not an MSC. Customs haven't had "M. Strider" on the flats for a very long time. This is a newer knife. The pivot on this is an anomaly though which prob threw you off

I have one of these in nearly new condition if you are still looking for one MC. If you have an extra XM24 textured ti scale w the DLC stonewash finish that'd be unreal
