The plaintiff was hired by the defendant to work at a food stand. However, the defendant never paid him, so the plaintiff is suing for the wages he’s owed. The defendant insists the plaintiff showed up late. Besides, it was a volunteer job.

This is why I dont like donating to non profits. Cant trust all of them, migght as well donate to an individual instead. I live in a big city and they have a lot of non profits for for homeless people, and programs for addiction, but there's more homeless and addiction issues than help being done. The people at the top of the organization are the ones seeing the money.

Then the witness was there to do what??? Further lying 🤥 how do you have proof in your office but don’t bring it to the ONE place you need it AT THAT TIME. This defendant is running a shady non-profit. He’s providing the stadium with cheap labor and collecting a nice fee, and the concession company gets a tax write off. And the worker gets taken advantage of.

IDK, that just made me think the opposite..... so youre telling me he didnt pay one employee for 2 months, and no one else complained?? I know If I was working and didnt get paid after 2 weeks, not 2 months id say something, and then stop coming. i found this shady on both sides, dont believe either side. The defendants operate a shady outfit, volunteering, stipends and getting paid, hmm. The plaintiff should talk to other volunteers and see if they didn't paid either because if they did this to one person, they must've done the same to others.

"That may be in another receipt book." The judge knew at that moment they were lying, and she wasn't about to be taken for a ride. Not to mention the way he kept talking around her questions. And she gave then the chance to get the sign in sheet. As if no one is at her office, or she couldn't call someone to go get it. They didn't want that sign in sheet to be seen, because it had his name on it.

Judge Milian is so smart. She caught them at the end when she noticed there had been 24 home games left and the defendants hadn’t paid ANY of their employees since June. The defendants are definitely running a scam- what a shame because done properly, it has the potential to do what it was originally intended for.

JM finally had enough of the defendants when they said their evidence "might be in a different receipt book." How convenient that they totally have evidence, just not here! Poor plaintiff was trying to get himself out of the house and make some money, and these people screwed him and a bunch of other young folks. I hope the plaintiff can get a legitimate job at a ball park, because it sounds like he genuinely enjoyed himself there.

At the beginning of the show James Byrd states that his company help prisoners but want prisoner in their right mind will come out of prison working for free. 2nd. Later in the show, Judge said that he did not pay any of his employees and it's written on that receipt book.

The one piece of evidence they needed in order to win the case they didn’t bring to court? That told me everything I needed to know. Shady! Glad the plaintiff won. Someone should also look into their business , doing questionable things like that while working with felons who are probably not well versed in the law/don’t trust the legal system is concerning

I like plaintiff attitude. He seem like a cool dude and I'm glad he got his money. Defendant is def doing sum shady scumbag shit. Using people who can't find regular work to work for him and not pay them eventually

If he was such a lousy worker why try to sign him on for more jobs. All it takes is one person to stand up for themselves to shed light on a bunch of scammers fronting behind an organization.

Most teams do this, Baseball. Football. The defendant just got caught, was waiting for another payout before he paid the "volunteers". This saves the stadiums'a lot of money.

So proud of the plaintiff doing the right thing from the beginning., working, supporting himself, looking for great atmospheres to be around., respectful, and then having to stand up for what’s right. We need to be more giving and encouragers for your people like this! But he still ended up winning twice for learning always to stand up for what’s right!
