What a great tip! I must admit, that cutting the cords for my macrame projects is my least favourite part, I just want to get on and start the project itself! lol. I was searching the internet for a good/quicker/easier way, and this is best I have found, Thanks again, I will be out tomorrow to get those clamps!!

@Knot Calm I've tried this trick before but my cords differ in lenght substantially. What do you think: what did I do wrong?
@KnotCalm
@KnotCalm Год назад
That’s so strange! Maybe it is where the cords are being cut? The cords need to be cut at the same end as the start of the cord (if that makes sense). Sorry I can’t be of more help. I have used this trick for all my projects and never had a problem

fantastic idea.!! do you have any suggestions for cutting say 450cm length when your table isn't long enough? thought about dividing by 4 and doing one at a time but that kinda defeats the purpose. Any suggesting will be appreciated
@KnotCalm
@KnotCalm 2 года назад
That is definitely a little trickier! What I usually do is find two chairs that my claps will go on and space them 2m apart, to create 4m cords. This gives you more flexibility with the length without needing a table. Otherwise for really long cords I’ll just cut them all one by one. I haven’t found a quicker way yet!

@@KnotCalm chair idea just may work... didnt think of that...duh...36 long cords... thank you so much for both the quick response and suggestion

I get my cord from a local supplier in Melbourne, Australia! Where are you located? I am not sure about suppliers on Amazon sorry.

Hi Stacy, I'm new to macrame and Im all knots, lol trying to figure out why Im running short of cord. The patterns calls for 65m of cord cut into 26 lengths of 2.5 m. That's 250 cm. I'm adding extra and still I'm short. No other specifics are given for pattern. Can you help? Thank you so much .Alicia

Hi Alicia! It might depend on the thickness of string you are using. The thicker the string, the more length you will need. Check what mm thickness the pattern suggests and make sure you are using something similar. I hope that helps!
