Didn't know Cleartone strings had different string materials. I also didn't know how great they sound compared to Elixir. I'm definitely going to be stringing my guitar with those now instead of Elixir.

I really liked the EQs. Even the low E string sounded good.

80-20's are mid scooped... Which can be a little much on a rosewood guitar.... They can be really good for giving a singer a place to sit and be supported by a guitar.... I tend to like them on mahogany guitars especially... Don't think I'd recommend it if there's not a singer involved. This seems like one of those string sets That needs a couple days to calm down.... I'd like to hear it after they've been on the guitar for a couple days. I think they really might EQ out a rosewood guitar if that's what someone is looking for...

I like the idea of a pack of strings of multiple materials that all do a different thing. That’s really cool! EQ is a clever name for that. I just ordered my first guitar and aside from Elixirs I’m a bit clueless on what to get for it. It’s an Orangewood Oliver Jr, so it’s an all mahogany (solid top) small body guitar. It was just what I could afford, plus I like the look of it. But I love the clear glittery sound of Taylors (I wanted a Baby Taylor but couldn’t afford it). So I’m trying to figure out what strings will sound best on an all mahogany travel guitar and even more so what will give it a little bit of glitter. Your videos have been really helpful as I try to rule things out or get closer to understanding the differences between strings. Btw, idk if you have any interest in doing this comparison, but I recently heard the only set of strings to really impress me as much as Elixirs… Ernie Ball Paradigms. I don’t usually like the sound of Ernie Ball strings but holy moly those Paradigms sounded incredible on a comparison video I saw recently. They seriously gave Elixirs a run for their money in terms of really gorgeous, resonant sound. Would you consider putting them head to head with your usual Elixirs?

I have a pack of paradigms waiting to be put on so I will definitely do a showdown with them. They seem to be EB's high end string. Looking forward to see what the feel and sound like.

My experience is that the paradigms do not break, true to their guarantee, but they lose their tone a good deal sooner than elixirs.

How long do they live compared to elixirs?

Oh Wow, Ive never been asked that question. I like phosphor bronze nanowebs but maybe its more of a gauge question? I would think for a 12 string you wouldnt want anything too heavy. Maybe lights or custom lights?
