Scottish fiddler Alasdair Fraser and cellist Natalie Haas stopped by the Strings studio to perform a few tunes. Watch the mesmerizing duo perform two tunes from the core of the Scottish-fiddle repertoire: Neil Gow’s “Neil Gow’s Wife”/”The Old Reel.” Next up is a composition by Natalie Haas, which she wrote for her best friend’s wedding, “Megan and Jared’s Waltz,” followed by Mike Vass’ “Cavers of Kirkcudbright.”

I wish my wife and i could play like this together, sitting on our porch in the Scottish hills watching the sun melt and fade out over the highlands. All i need is to learn to play the violin... move to Scotland... and find a wife...... damn.

it doesn't say that she is his wife... it's just the name of the song haha

@@MintParker Alasdair tells you it was his wife. Neil's life is pretty well documented.

These are just my favorite people. I want to take lessons from Natalie and ask Alasdair a lot of questions about his long career of fiddle and Scotland.

Hermosamente hermoso son duos perfectos los que hacen estos artistas, las notas llegan al alma, no tienen ningún desperdicio ninguna de sus piezas.

She moves her fingers so fast! Wish I could play the cello that well.

the best, and the most exciting, such incredible discipline..and stresses that in her workshops. There is nobody out there like Natalie, in terms of precision and accuracy. I haven't ever heard a mistake...'on point' as they say...always. :) Looking forward to a tune or few with you, Natalie, and Alasdair again, goes without saying :)

Fantastic playing, of course being Alasdair & Natalie, but it was a shame the recording mic wasn't so well placed as Alasdair's fiddle was too soft (& the cello too upfront, as great as it was in Natalie's very capable hands).

Absolutely brilliant playing, but the mixing has a lot to be desired. Surprised, given I presume the microphone set up would have been by Strings Magazine..?

I think that the name Jared is mispelled. I search their album and there the name is spelled like "Jarrod"
