I weaved in all the ends of my current top while watching this, so thank you for the lovely video + company during such a (rather) boring task. I love all the striped garments you're working on or have been working on, I definitely want to make something striped, too, now.
Watching your podcast is always so nice and relaxing! This summer I am really looking forward to simply going back home in Italy, spend some quality time with my family and friends while having a lot of knitting done #knittingtags 🤍
Marlene, love the video! I feel like you’re one of the knitters with a podcast that really cares about the viewers. Thank you! Not in the EU but I love the giveaway you’re doing! Someone will be a really lucky winner!
Marlene, your podcast is such a safe place as always! Looking forward to resume winter garments knitting hahah bc I have so many patterns I want to knit. Have a wonderful summer ☀️
What I’m looking forward to this summer is raising my newborn daughter 🥰 I am so excited to look through baby knit patterns and plan some projects for her!
🇸🇪 #knittingtags
Ohh what great photos at the end! LOVE our matching stripe hype sweaters and totally agree about the way they came together 🧶🧡 everything you got in the UK is so lovely and I can't believe how many striped items you're knitting 😅 they are all so cute!
I’m taking my camera(s) and can’t wait to take a million pictures of everything while we’re on our trip! ✨ I truly seem to be on a stripe hype lol thank you ☺️
I enjoyed watching your podcast as usual 😆 and for the Marcu Polo, I thought I was sooo behind especially when I saw that someone finished, but it's nice to know that I'm right there with everyone else 😆 also your Stripe Hype sweater looks amazing!! 😻
Your stripe hype sweater is gorgeous. I love the colors😍 I have been knitting on the seacrest top with stripes while watching your episode. And you really inspire me to knit more with stripes😃
Your stripe hype is sooo lovely! I got really inspired to try to make one with my hand dyed scraps :) I love the vibe of your podcast, so chill, loved hanging out with you and hearing you chat about yarny stuff! I'm looking forward to also knitting on some stripes this summer, I'm planning to cast on the lined loop top by other loops soon #knittingtags
I just got selected for my first test knit! 🤩 I’m looking forward to knitting the socks as a test knitter. Was gauge swatching while watching this video 🤗
If you still want to use the tags with the fraying edges, if they are polyester or acrylic (they usually are) you can just run the edge across a flame like a lighter or candle and that will seal it.
mine are made out of cotton so when tried this earlier it didn't work, but its not too bad I guess. maybe I'll try like a zig zag scissors or will have to iron the ends, either way I love the personal style it can give my knits :)
Hi Marlene, I hadn’t heard of My Ivory Room but it looks like a beautiful shop and they stock Olivia and Olive yarn too which is an added bonus living here in the UK. You’re totally correct about UK place names. There are so many that are pronounced totally differently from how they are written. Whilst I can’t enter the giveaway you’ve inspired me to buy some tags to put in my knits and I’m also going to get some for my 13 year old niece who will be coming with me to her first ever yarn festival, Yarndale in September. This is thing I’m probably most excited about this summer as she loves crafts, oh and also rediscovering and finishing off a couple of very old summer projects. They had been hidden away for far too long but I should have 2 new sweaters soon. I hope that you have a good time at Flock Fiber Festival. Jo
One thing you might be able to try for the tag fraying is a product called fray check, or something similar. I’ve never sewn tags into my knitting but now I really want to! 😊
Super video marlene ! I was knitting on some socks while watching you, loving all the stripey projects. I am looking forward to knitting with my new bamboo needles my boyfriend gifted me last week ( #knittingtags ). You've inspired me to look into getting some tags, I'd love to add that polished finishing to my knits !
thanks vanissia 🧡 ouuh I'd love to get some of the chiaogoo bamboo soon (my best friend has and looves them!) - which ones did you get? It's lots of fun and yeah, I totally think it adds a nice personal touch and polished finish :) can't wait for your next episode!
☀🌼 #knittingtags
You chose some wonderful colours for the stripe hype sweater! I'm looking forward to adding to my summer knits by making the THEA top using the trio 1 and 2 by Isager. I'm in love with the neutral linen colour way and the drape of the yarn. #knittingtags
I‘m really looking forward to spending three days all on my own exploring Oslo this summer! It‘s my first time solo travelling and I‘m super excited. Can‘t wait to check out all the incredible yarn shops an eat loads of cinnamon buns❤ #knittingtags
Love all the strips and your new yarns! I'm most excited to go on my summer vacation, I can't wait to just chill, eat, swim, read and knit. #knittingtags
I’m excited to take a month off work and take a relaxing break! It will give me a chance to get my sweater finished and start a zakuri cardigan with some noro yarns I got earlier this year in Los Angeles! 😊 #knittingtags
I love your stripe hype sweater! I was just going to ignore it, but when I saw yours I think I need something similar 😍 For the giveaway: I'm waiting to be healthier + spending a lot time outdoors knitting. I also wait for fall to arrive, since I miss cooler days and woolly wools 😆
thank you 😊 all the best to you and your health and I feel the same! 🍂but until then I'm trying to be a summer girly and enjoy it as much as I can haha😅
I‘m most excited about starting my first Cardigan during my upcoming island holiday!
I‘m looking forward to wearing my rippled camisole by jessie maed because right now I have tension issues while casting off and I put it into a corner… but I still want to wear it so I need to work on it again haha. I just love wearing and showing of my knits. #knittingtags
I'm crossing my fingers for you and I totally relate to putting projects in the corner once in a while when they're not working out as I hoped they would and I always find that it helps me to take a break on them!
I‘m looking forward to finish my first summer knit ever, which is the basic tank. You really got me into trying stripes and I love knitting it so far ☺️ #knittingtags
#knittingtags I‘m looking forward to a couple of weeks off of work and time to work my way through my stash. The Yoreum Top and the Apt Bolero are high up on my to do list
Hi Marlene! I'm looking forward to my first knitting summer :-D I really enjoy your podcasts and funny fact, yesterday I discussed with my husband which sweater I'm going to knit for him and it's the same sweater from petite knit that you're going to knit (Nothland sweater). I'm going to use drops big merino as yarn for it. Kind regards, from Belgium! #knittingtags
Hi Marlene! Your stripe hype sweater looks really nice! I love the colors you used! Also, nice to see the projects you are working on. At the moment I am into knitting camisoles. I have camisole no 5 on my needles in KFO cotton merino and dreaming of newly released pattern camisole no 9 ❤ #knittingtags
I‘m getting really inspired by your and Lydia‘s stripe projects, and although it would screw up my project plans and queue, I think I hav to squeeze in a stripe project to participate in your KAL 😊 thanks for continuously inspiring me! #knittingtags
Hallo Marlen.
Not totally sure but you could probably melt the edges of the tags by holding a lighter really close. If it’s synthetic fabric you could melt just the edge and then it won’t fray
Such lovely yarn choices! I can’t wait to finish my pebble top and I would really like to cast on the new petiteknit Florence bag for my sister :) #knittingtags
Good to see you again ☺ your Brighton Tee is looking beautiful on you. I don't know if you'd be interested to share, but I would like to know about your favourite knitting accessories if you'd want to consider this for a section of a podcast or a smaller video. Your summer stripes KAL as well as all the beautiful striped projects really urge me to also knit something stripey. The only problem here is that I have a couple of garment quantities already planned that are all uni coloured (and not structured as well) 😅 oh well, maybe I need to buy yarn for something stripey 🥰 This summer I'm looking forward to spending some summer nights at a local lake with friends and bring my knitting projects along #knittingtags
that sounds like a great plan, I’d love to share about a bit more! maybe a top/camisole or socks could be a great project for in between tonal sweaters to get into stripes? ☺️ that sounds like such a lovely plan for the summer! 🌞
@@jessicajohnston2997 I’m going to visit my friend who’s living about an hour from seattle for two weeks and we’ll be there for the whole weekend :) come say hi if you see me there on sunday! 👋🏻☺️
Joining the giveways! Loving your videos and learning about local yarns in London in case I'm visiting there soon. Also, I am planning to learn how to learn knitting cables and socks at the same time this summer. Unlocking new skills too. Based in the Netherlands. #knittingtags
Love the colour combination of your stripe hype sweater! And all those beautiful sock sets are making me want to cast on socks immediately. 😁 I‘m looking forward to taking a roadtrip up the west coast of Norway, I moved here last year (close to the Sandnes Garn factory 😍) and this summer we‘ll explore our new home country in a camper. #knittingtags (I would use my parents german adress for the giveaway)
Hi Marlene, I absolutely love the colour choice of your Stripe Hype sweater!🤩 Great episode as always :) I am looking forward to finishing my direction loop sweater and allgood dress, so i can start a breeze bag and some autumn knits 😊 #knittingtags
I usually leave a long tail when adding the next color (which I also leave a long end for this and hold both ends in the back) then knit for a few stitches before doing a knot in there and after knitting a few row I always tuck on it and see that the stitches look great on the RS, you know? after some rows I'll do a double knot in them and then after a while sew in the ends zig zag style. sometimes I hold floats too but I'm still learning how to do it myself. I'll show it off in another video soon if you'd like to see it rather than read about it maybe? :)
Love this episode, totally got me inspired for the tags and stripes ❤ I’m looking forward to gifting two self-knitted Brigitte bags to my two dearest friends who have organized my bachelorette! 👰🏻♀️Though i have no idea when it is gonna happen so 😏 looking forward to see their reaction and would be nice if I could see in such a nice tag!! #knittingtags
I love your videos! I haven't been knitting for a long time but I'm absolutely addicted. Looking forward to knitting my first summer tops and camisoles and hopefully wearing some of them! I can't wait! ❤ Lovely giveaway #knittingtags
